  • this poem reminds me a lot of Bertolt Brecht

very complex and sometimes contradicts itself yet makes sense somehow

missed more of your poems vids (it's nicer when you read them out loud - and to watch you read, not only read words on a screen)

  • @MagicalSunrise1984 Thank you so much for that sweet comment. I've got a few more poems on here and I think I've written hundreds that I've never read aloud-maybe I should. ;) hehe. xoxo

  • Great words, amazing thoughts. A very powerful poem! Open life, open mind and open door ... The only thing that I can say is that you are a great talented person. Keep it up! I want to see more like that.

    Big beijo, Melle

  • Beijo right back at ya Melle. :D Thank you for all your sweet words, it helps to drive me. :D

  • Amazing, Aleisha: uplifting, encouraging!

Love the "you can..." stanzas and at the end of them

    Do you know you can?

    Life is open.

    The world is no island,

    it is your land.

    Beautiful!

  • Grazi Antonio. :D I felt uplifted while writing it.

  • just love your poem, indeed powerful and beautiful :)

    Aleisha rocks

  • Thanks Kim. You rock too. ;)

  • Beautiful, Aleisha:) I can't wait to hear another one:)

  • Thanks Sam. More coming your way soon, babe. ;)

  • There is some wonderful imagery in this poem, I can see it becoming a beautifully illustrated book!!! A few of my favorite lines are the one about the pendulum being a tire swing, and the whole part about the monarch butterfly... the whole thing is just amazing!!! what a gift you have!!!!

  • Never thought of a book. Hmm...maybe that can be a task for us. Do you draw too perhaps? If not, maybe I can solicit someone from YT help and we can illustrate it. Wouldn't that be something! Thank you. I love encouragement, it's a vital nutrient we all need. :D

  • I wish I could draw the things I picture in my mind!! I consider myself an artist (painting), but it is more of a hobby, and the things I picture going with your words are much grander than I could ever create... but I picture lots of beautiful colors!!

  • Oh thank you. :D Cool. I could definitely see that. :)

  • Very nice Aleisha!

  • Dank U. :D

  • cool, there are no coincidences.. loved the poem.. it felt alive

  • Thank you Alison. I love that it came alive for you. :D

  • what powerful words. what a journey,,

  • Thank you Matt. :D Truly a journey.

  • How wonderful is to listen you read you own poem and feel how your videos have been growing! by the way beautiful poem! Thanks for sharing! 5*Cheers!

  • Thank you Jacky. It makes me feel good to know there are people out there like you who care so much. :D

  • Of course, as long as he doesn't want to destroy humanity, rape children and animals and such - for these people I'd recommend - compromise on unsinfull like hehe :o) But your goal seem to do only good :o)

All of my blessings to you, Al,

    Sis

  • I agree. It must be worthy action for worthy causes. :)

  • hehe right. I'm gon' tell u goodnight my dear coz it's 1:42 and I gotta get some sleep

  • Hi Al, I'm going to try and work on my little bitter poem but I want to say that the poem will relate to your poem alone, and not the story you told afterwards. I think your choice in go for writing is wonderful. Well, I'm biased, I'm a writer (not in profession, but in my soul). I think one should go for the things he knows he wants and if he finds out he doesn't want them anymore, he should go wherever he does want to go :o)

  • thanks for that. :)

  • Very sweet poem. You are so philosophic! (Hope I spelled that right LOL)

    Pat :o)

  • Thanks Pat. ha ha. Aleisha the Philosopher. ;)

  • peace!

  • Peace to you as well. :D

  • I am the wind - and yet my life is closed. I'm afraid I'm going to have to rephraise a poem that I wrote about my closed life and respond you with it. Will take me some time tho.

I'm glad to hear these words from you - I love your writing and this one is very optimistic. I hope each and every one of us will have such open life because we don't, Aleisha, I don't.

    Love,

    Sis

  • Sis, wish I could talk to you more often. Sometimes comments are not enough, right? Well, I hope you will email me your addy so we can IM if you have some sort of msgr svc. I will be overjoyed to hear your poem and know your thoughts in a new vid response. I really wish that some day you will have this. It's a freedom that all man must have...maybe does- but of course, there is the shackles of govt, propriety, conformity, etc...

  • Tire swings and ravens and that Life is an open door

wherever you go is where you are... that all reminds me of something I said ;o)) You made a great poem out of the thoughts. I saved it on my computer and maybe I can write a song on it some day, cuz I really can relate to it ^^ .."Because the wind is my heart.

The wind is me" ~ so true. I guess, that's my fav poem of yours.

    Kris

  • Thank you Kris. It was definitely inspired by what you and my other caring friends said to me. :D I thought a lot about it and it struck me deep in my heart. If you do write a song out of it some day, I would be so honored. :)

  • Hey Kris,

I'm looking back at this poem and from where I was then, where I am now...those open doors and keeping an open mind and heart worked for me. =D

    Danke dir,

    Aleisha

  • It's interesting. Though us Youtuberz are divided by countries etc, we can connect our spirits and create a positive spirit/mind. I like that about the Internet, especially about YouTube, since it is the music who -initially- connected all of us :o)

  • @KrisShred

there is no soul on your side to connect to

    no spirit or mind

and all these words you write, are but immitations of thought, emotions, ideas - essence which in reality you cannot genuinly experience

maybe it is a disease, maybe it is the past

    maybe maybe maybe

certainly you can't fight the facts - all you can connect is assult and crimes against humanity

against the souls of other beings you encounter wether online or offline

  • @KrisShred

maybe someone somehow you will transform into all which you attempt to express

    but until then

the spirit, the souls you have damaged

    will continue to haunt you

  • It's so good to see your smile and feel your peace...

    Congratulations!

    lovely poem, very true!

Best Wishes for you and your carreer ^-^.

  • Thank you Sara. :) You're right, it was truly peace. :D

  • amazing poem my frind

    adil

  • Thank you Adil. It's always nice to have another talented artist give you praise. :)

  • That was most enjoyable indeed. I have no doubt that you will achieve success. I like this line from your poem:

You can stay where you are

    in that one spot

and time will pass you by

whether you like it or not.

    So true. 5/5 ~Larry

  • Thanks Larry. As I walked and looked about, I just free flowed and that's what came out. I passed by ravens and birds and butterflies, so I was inspired by not just what was said to me back in my other blog but what I observed externally as well. :)

  • wow! that walk really did help aye! That was beautiful :D And it's great to see you so positive about this! now thats two lovely things so far in my day that have made me smile :) and I have only just woken up! I'm glad you posted this :)

  • Aye. :) Thanks By. Oh, so happy that your day started well and am always glad to make you smile. :D

  • Excellent poem, and I hope your story is something you are excited to tell us about too. Play on.

  • Thank you. I hope it gets more exciting as it goes along. ;) And play I will...

  • It's beautiful. As far as I can say, it's beautiful.

And it's so good to see you with that it mind.

    :D

  • Merci Marc. :) Parceque, j'ai beaucoup des amis avec coeur tres grand. ;)

  • Thank you David. :)

  • I was loving how the beginning of the poem didn't suggest that a person had to be a leaf floating in the wind, like all those Haikus I keep reading, but then you come out with the feather bit.

But seriously, "The pendulum is a tire swing" is one of the best pieces of imagery I've ever read in a poem. Thanks for that.

  • lol. Yeah, it just came out that way..free verse. lol. Thank you.

  • THATS RIGHT, THATS RIGHT!

You've Got "IT" Go BABY GO! Let the CHIPS fall where they MAY!

  • Thanks. :D I am excited about where I'm going in life and what I'm doing. ;)

  • ME 3

  • Hi Aleisha! I was coming to find your Sat night video a night late, lol, and saw this. The poem is wonderful, I love some of the little surprise endings of lines...the monarch traveling til it dies with its tiny wings. Little touches like that, showing how something small can make a difference. Seems to reflect your experience tonight too! A small thing, a minute's difference, and look at the good that happened! Anne

  • So true. Thank you Anne. :D Amazing things can happen with little flutters. ;) And you can still find my Saturday Night YouTube 35 video underneath in my videos box. :D Hope you like it. You'll be surprised at my character. lol.
