  • He's quite wrong. From my experience you want 2gHz (or more) processor speed, Dual to Quad Core or better. 4gb of ram or more. a few 500gb or 1Tb hard drives, one for the Operating System and software and the others for audio. Thats what is needed for a recording studio computer.

  • expertvillage SUCK MY DICK!!

  • expertvillage, making dumb asses dumber by the minute!

  • ... and you need at least a Terahertz of Hard drive space.

  • hey can anyone recommend a good motherboard to buy so I can start building a com. for my studio?

  • @Fassade69 the p67 sabertooth by asus is a good one,

  • @Fassade69 addition: i would say: buy an imac, for studio purposes its much better;)

  • @123marijn321 nono dont do it. go build a pc with 2x the processing speed and 3x the ram for 1/2 the price of a mac pro desktop...

  • @DenemChikn i know, get the imac, the hardware is good enough en the software is 1000x better

  • @123marijn321 software? are you talking about a DAW? i use ableton live 8 on my pc.. none better imo

  • @DenemChikn no i mean the operating system

  • @123marijn321 yea i dont know anything about os x. but windows 8 comes out soon lol crossing my fingers

  • @DenemChikn i am also still a windows user, soon ill buy a mac

  • nah probably not comfortable befor a cam, many people are, focusing on the cam instead of what they are saying. but ok for now the demands are alot higher, and for a vid uploaded in 2007 your specs seems small even at that time, especially for a recording studio. but maybe a home user could usa a setup like that and survive, but it would have to be the minimum requirement when it comes to cpu and ram, and not whats recommended.

  • more like idiot village

  • Woow... I've watched like 6 videos of expertvillage.. and all sucked o_o

  • A gigabyte processor!!! wow! Anyway, the spec u've described here is not a high configuration. Most netbooks have this configuration now a days. LOL.

  • heres what you need.

    1. 2.0 GHz processor, preferably 2.4

    2. 2 gigs of ram, preferably 4.

    3. 2 MB of L1 or L2 cache

    4. 500 GB Hard drive

    5. 4 USB ports, and with new hardware preferably USB 2.0

    6. atleast 1 Firewire port.

If you dont know what fire wire is, bring your computer to bestbuy, go to the Geek squad kiosk, tell them u want a 6 pin fire wire card, preferably 800 MB p/s. make sure they install the driver too.

once you have all that, you have a decent computer ready for a home studio

  • right in here double you double you computer

  • i guess u would have to notice the video was uploaded in 2007 zellers

  • I cannot believe he said alteast a gigabyte of processor!!! lmaOooooo. He has no idea what he's talking about. Now that is comedy. A large HD - 80gb lmaOo. Aww mannnn. Good stuff.

  • An audio recording tutorial with bad audio (60 & 120 cycle hum and something that sounded like a crumpled recording tape, probably really bad audio compression). Best example of irony I've seen in a while.

  • If you are using MIDI or Computer recording, this is a great accessory: "Over-the-keys stand". It is available on ebay time-to-time. I could not find it anywhere else.

  • Hahahahahaah since when cpu's had 1 gigabyte cache?

  • ".. At least a gigabyte of processor."

    Right..

  • ha i lol'd

  • Expert village? More like newbie village

  • he said at least 80

  • yo bad this was posted in 2007? lol 80 was a bit back then

  • 80 gig hard drive? my gram gram has more space!

  • HAHAHAHAHA

  • yeah i got a good comp too bad its a PC haha

  • hey everyone. i don't know where to go to ask this question. so im dropping it here now =]. please help me out. I read alot on the internet about core2duos being good for recording pcs. What about the quadcores now? Are they fitted for recording?

  • The more processors you have, the better it is. It depends on the software. It has to recognize multi-processing. As time goes by, more and more softwares will be available for multi processing. Cubase 4 and 5 recognizes multi-processing. I have a quadcore 3 gigs (4 processors) computer and it works perfect.

  • i just built my quadcore setup running Sonar 8 Producer edition, Motu Hd 192, Motu 1296....im in heaven!!! I sold my Protools Hd1 setup 4 years ago due to financial problems...couldnt afford to get it again so I went another direction...and I tell you what...it runs bit for bit with the PT HD...

  • I see a cerwin vega! looks lik a 12

  • this is crap!!!!.........Every1 is aware of this....

tell us something we don't know..

  • LOL! village expert sucks, his trying to say Gigahertz. This video tells us stuff we already know.

  • LOL, i dont know much about PC's, i only did an IT course for a couple weeks and quit, but i know more than this guy seems to know, since when did proccessors have speeds in gigabytes?

  • A gigabyte of processor?

wtf? are you on crack, pretending to know what you're talking about.

For one thing, processor speed is measured in hertz, or cycles/second.

    You're probably talking about RAM.

    (Nobody learnt anything from this)

  • @zelllers even still..i gb of ram?? you need at least 4gb just to run ableton live correctly

  • @DenemChikn yes but this was in 2007;):P

  • @123marijn321 still..my goddamn laptop from 2007 had 2gb's

  • O my god that was funny i almost crap myself

  • that was a joke you it takes a lot more than that to build a great music pc

  • Absolutely

  • hi, I like record music, so I want to know what is the best o one the best software for recording music, if you explain me in spanish is better, thks

  • i have a card rme9632 and i ask you :I need a converter four a good sound ?
