Obviously not enough kids watched power rangers, because if they had then rap wouldn't be as popular. I hate rap. Power Rangers incorporated awesome rock into their shows, that I still enjoy to this day!
In regards to a "Power Rangers for Adults," back when the original series first aired, and I mean like the first few episodes, TV Guide listed it as being for "teenagers" not children. It was only after, I'm guessing, the toy-like zords being entirely too attractive to children that the show seemed to change to focus on being for kids. Anyone else remember this? Of course I was 19 and probably too old to be watching it anyway. But Tommy was hot, what can I say?

This is what someone needs to do, make an adult show, like power rangers, although remove the zords, and the corny dialogue, make it like from Smaville and Supernatural from those producers, where instead of the rangers morphing into costumes, when they say something like Dragon Zord, they activate super natural powers, and each power is a different representation of the power coin they have, some dress in trench coats, and some in vests, but the outlook is they look different their alter ego

@Lonewolfpackleader Not really, it doesn't need to have flashy costumes and Zords to be called Power Rangers, they've proven that time and time again, I am saying they give the people super powers without them morphing, make it Smallville or Super Natural like, and it wouldn't be like Power Rangers as we know, just the name and some of the main villains. I think it'd be a cool idea depending on who they got to produce that.
@EternalDarkness316 Supernatural and Smallville are really bad choices for your arguement on civilian rangers, If anything Power Rangers needs to be a light hearted entertaining show, with the spandex costumes or CGI suits (GL's suit looked badass) that will sell lots of toys. We may complain it's not dark and edgy but Power Rangers was anything but. Sure there were some dark elements introduced as the show developed further but MMPR was still a kid friendly series. Any movie will reflect that.

these guys were my idols. didn't stop watching them till i was 14. it was hard for me to grow up away from these guys. but anyways, i still listen to the music. that will never change.
I believe this and 5-4-1 was one of my favorite songs during their fights with the puttys. It got pumped up and I had the saba sword at the time so that was a fun time for me and I'm sure for other back in the 90's. Good times. Plus, I'm glad Jason David Frank is in MMA, I'm sure without Power Rangers, people wouldn't notice him alot and he wouldn't be in Professional fighting.
Personally, I'd like to see a muh darker more violent version of Power Rangers geared to us adult viewers. But, we'll probably never get that since the show is geared towards children. Oh well its still a cool idea.

There's already something like that for you. It's called "Super Sentai" series which is the original material of Power Rangers to begin with. First Power Rangers were in fact collected footage from their 16th series. First Super Sentai series were quite serious series about fighting terrorism for example.

The blood and the violence are okay to show to Japanese children as well as having serious topics. Unlike America, Japan doesn't shelter kids from real life issues. Disturbed could do a decent cover for this as well, I would be satisfied with old school Drowning Pool, or even Rob Zombie (the vocals feel like they can be done, not specifically talking about if they'd do it or not). When MMPR was re-airing on ABC Family channel, I tried to record on VHS the show JUST so I could catch all the fighting scenes that play these songs.
Oh... about the 'tick-tock' part, I only heard that on the show ONCE.
I remember the orig. black ranger, Zack, was doing the snake dance with his head while fighting putties.
I tried to catch that part of the song, but every time that song came on, that 'tick tock' part would never come on. Only heard it once. Now I'll listen to this.
One of the factors that made MMPR a success was the music. Ron's soundtrack just set the tone for the show. And the later seasons of Power Rangers didn't feel the same without Ron's music.

If they did it right it would definitely sell. There are enough fans that would buy it out of nostalgia, and there look is so iconic others may recognize it and buy it out of curiousity. they could probably get the cast back besides trini and maybe even this guys music. I want that and Seasons 1-3 on DVD.

My love for rock music went as far back as this soundtrack. When I heard it, I fell in love with the crushing distorted guitars. I remember this being my favorite on the ablum.

@Pac117 Ron Wasserman left before Disney even took over the franchise, and worked freelance when he did the SPD theme. They turned down his Mystic Force themes, but he wasn't ever fired by Disney.

Not including super sentai footage, they had dinosaurs, zeo crystals, cars, space ships, swords in stone, rescue teams, wild animals, time travel, Ninjas, dinosaurs again, time travel again, magic jewels, wild animals again and a friggin computer virus. if they had any more ideas plus rangers from past shows they can exploit then the power rangers won't end.
@Shanethefilmmaker I never mentioned WHY it was over. But if your points also apply to Super Sentai, and that hasn't been axed. The next two themes would've been Samurais (the only previous one was green NInja Storm) and Angels with cards (completely original idea). They aren't out of ideas, it's money.
@JASpiring it's not money its because of the following, how are they gonna fit the samurai genre without being too much like ninja storm, Dino thunder almost had the same problem with almost being too much like mighty morphin, the other problem is that the audience aren't gonna be interested in another power rangers unless more originals are involved and the third, the guys that provide the sentai footage have probably lost interest in power rangers. without ideas or interest there is no show.
@Shanethefilmmaker Toei most definitely have not lost interest in PR. They profit from it. I don't see what originals has to do with it. There haven't been any originals since Dino Thunder, apart from Overdrive's Once a Ranger. The whole point of moving production to New Zealand was to save money, or PR would've ended 7 years earlier. DT was made similar to MMPR on purpose.
@JASpiring DT and Ninja storm were basically season one and season three of MMPR done differently, and as for original characters all I am saying is that the audience only watches the new ones in hopes of seeing the old characters at least make a cameo or at least have an all out episode like they did with forever red only with every cast member from the previous shows so that it would end on a good note rather than a cliff hanger.

I could see either Jorn Lande, Ozzy Osbourne, James Hetfield or Dave Mustaine singing this. WHo out there would be a good metal singer spacifically for thiis piece? Try to cover one power metal singer, and another singer from a more mainstream band like Godsmack. I've named my few now its your turn. Someone out there tell me who would be a good fit singer wise for this song.

@mkadragtonslayer The voice evokes a wicked Ozzy. Disturbed could do a decent cover for this as well, I would be satisfied with old school Drowning Pool, or even Rob Zombie (the vocals feel like they can be done, not specifically talking about if they'd do it or not). Fuel could do them too, which would be pretty sweet.

Why is PR probably the most hated show in America? when people remember it, they have nothing but nasty comments about it(check imdb). is it pr or just the japanese superhero concept that America finds stupid?? meaning would sentai be successful here?

@Martialart07 Honestly, I'm not sure on that one man. I just think that the soundtrack could have been better. But, then again, as far as Sentai, I've not seen it. Do you have any suggestions for some episodes that I could check out on here so I could compare the two versions? I still would like to see a metal mmpr tribute album. That would be pretty cool.

@mkadragtonslayer most episodes have been deleted on youtube, sine they air in Japan, and, technically, us viewing it is illegal, but go to Dramacrazy and type Gokaiger. It is the current sentai and it kicks a whole lot of ass, trust me

When MMPR was re-airing on ABC Family channel, I tried to record on VHS the show JUST so I could catch all the fighting scenes that play these songs.
Oh... about the 'tick-tock' part, I only heard that on the show ONCE.
I remember the orig. black ranger, Zack, was doing the snake dance with his head while fighting putties.
I tried to catch that part of the song, but every time that song came on, that 'tick tock' part would never come on. Only heard it once. Now I'll listen to this.

One of the factors that made MMPR a success was the music. Ron's soundtrack just set the tone for the show. And the later seasons of Power Rangers didn't feel the same without Ron's music.

@PiscesPrincess327 Dude, I just found the entire ost for download and it great quality! (most of it). Go to google and type "Power Ranger Mighty Morphin ost filestube" and then choose the first option, which will be a rapidshare link of 177mb. It's the authentic ost! trust me! I downloaded myself. It has 49 songs and most of it in great quality (some are in 128, 192, but most 320 which is the best). I can't believe after years searching for this I finally found it hahha.

People, for the love of god spread this message to your friends: Do NOT WATCH THE REMASTERED SHOW. I watched the intro and its just so.... bad. They kiddied up the show with shitty effects, "pwetty colouws" and other shit. Its fucking horrid and a damn violation of your childhood memories :(

@Avankiri It seems youtube has removed most of them, the first season used to be here. If you search for "2010 ABC MMPR Changes - Day of the Dumpster", you will see what disney changed in the show. Saban has bought back the rights after the first season thankfully....

@Knight41b The original six against rita. The game i've wanted for a long time. They could bring back the most iconic villains of season 1. if it goes well they could finish all of mmpr. If they did it right it would definitely sell. There are enough fans that would buy it out of nostalgia, and there look is so iconic others may recognize it and buy it out of curiousity. they could probably get the cast back besides trini and maybe even this guys music. I want that and Seasons 1-3 on DVD.

Why hire the cast back when Saban owns the full rights to the show & could easily just clean up the audio from the show and flop them over the game scenes when needed.
But yes your right though, the game would sell well if it was done correctly & was avertised. I mean with the graphics & crontrol schematics Bandai is able to produce with the Gundam games, a new MMPR game would be great & do incredibly well.

Yes!! I remember watching the behind the scenes clip of the MMPR Movie and hearing this for just a couple of seconds... Not including super sentai footage, they had dinosaurs, zeo crystals, cars, space ships, swords in stone, rescue teams, wild animals, time travel, Ninjas, dinosaurs again, time travel again, magic jewels, wild animals again and a friggin computer virus. if they had any more ideas plus rangers from past shows they can exploit then the power rangers won't end.

@Shanethefilmmaker I never mentioned WHY it was over. But if your points also apply to Super Sentai, and that hasn't been axed. The next two themes would've been Samurais (the only previous one was green NInja Storm) and Angels with cards (completely original idea). They aren't out of ideas, it's money.

@JASpiring it's not money its because of the following, how are they gonna fit the samurai genre without being too much like ninja storm, Dino thunder almost had the same problem with almost being too much like mighty morphin, the other problem is that the audience aren't gonna be interested in another power rangers unless more originals are involved and the third, the guys that provide the sentai footage have probably lost interest in power rangers. without ideas or interest there is no show.

@Shanethefilmmaker Toei most definitely have not lost interest in PR. They profit from it. I don't see what originals has to do with it. There haven't been any originals since Dino Thunder, apart from Overdrive's Once a Ranger. The whole point of moving production to New Zealand was to save money, or PR would've ended 7 years earlier. DT was made similar to MMPR on purpose.

@JASpiring DT and Ninja storm were basically season one and season three of MMPR done differently, and as for original characters all I am saying is that the audience only watches the new ones in hopes of seeing the old characters at least make a cameo or at least have an all out episode like they did with forever red only with every cast member from the previous shows so that it would end on a good note rather than a cliff hanger.
