I believe the the keys are actually plastic. (I have one) Enermax "guarantees" the keyboard never to fade, but within a few months the lettering on my keys did in fact fade. They sent me a new one.. it faded faster. They then sent me the black version, and it lasted all of 9 months before fading. Worse yet, Enermax now wants me to pay the shipping to return the keyboard. So.. buyer beware.
i have logitech illuminated keyboard... its 9mm thick and well its plastic but i really like it because it got light under the keys so i dont need any lamp or anything like that on my table... =)
Sorry to burst your bubble but that keyboard is NOT worth its price tag. My keyboard is extremely similar, metal etc, with USB2 hub etc,but it cost $15
my keyboards both light up. one only lights up a little. one SHINES in 3 different colors. the one with the 3 different colors is the Saitek Eclipse 2, and the keyboard that doesnt glow as much (but is better in preformance) is the Razer Tarantula. also, my 2 glowing mouses are awesome too, The razer Copperhead (brighter) and the Razer Lachesis (not as bright but better preformance)
i said this just in case someone is looking for different reviews of their glowing stuff in here lol
Yes, aluminium is a conductor of heat. Why do you wrap some food in foil before you put it in the oven? Its because the heat will get through. If you wrapped food using plastic it would be harder for the heat to get to it. Cold - day is cold hands, warm day - burnt hands
unfortunately, no proper key curvature, probably next to no throw distance, likely not very durable. I still say that the best keyboard ever invented is the IBM type M keyboard, model 1391401.
search wikipedia - Model_M_Keyboard
search dansdata dot com - ibmkeyboard.htm
My fingers don't have eyes, and proper typists don't look at the keys :) (unfortunately I do tho..)
Yeah, I totally agree. Almost weighs as much as some PC cases. If there's a keyboard to salivate over, the curves of the 1391406, the action, the long coiled lead - oh god, yes! ;)
But, wow, a keyboard made of aluminium (thanks for UK rendition!) with a sharp edge. Good for whacking burglars, I guess. If the IBM keyb had that edge you could put a handle on it and all it an axe.
For some reason my vid response showing my keyboard recorded wrong and just shows some odd scene with static audio of me feeling up the keyboard... yeah...
nice keyboard, i have one like it, but the keys are back-lit in blue, which finishes it off, as i don't think it's as cool without the light, but a nice buy none the less P.S. thanks for saying aluminum with the eEnglish pronunciation :D
I like it But!! I do like my Microsoft wireless multimedia 1.1 just press one button and instant email, web-page, my music, my doc's, My pictures. What more do you want. Well to tell you the truth, Your Aluminum keyboard please!!
That keyboard is pretty nice Chris, sorta reminds me of my MacBook Pro's keyboard. I like the angle its at, i usually never prop up my keyboards....uncomfortable to me. Gotta love the aluminum, very classy.
freaking nice

VADRIGAR666 3 years ago
That is a lovely looking keyboard but you REALLY need to take some footage of typing on it and the speed / noise it gives off.
Also, god damn it, that thing should be backlit! - otherwise it's quite nice.
scottylans 3 years ago
I bet spuge is easy to clean off on that. If it's not back lit, whats the point? I like to sit in the dark with my backlit keyboard and thats that.

You know the way your hands get really cold after typing a while?
Would this not make it colder/boil your hands on warm days?
chrisybwell 3 years ago
Is this true, it makes your fingertips cold?
I'd prefer thin keys like this one has but plastic rather than aluminium - I don't want cold hands.
scottylans 3 years ago
Yes, aluminium is a conductor of heat. Why do you wrap some food in foil before you put it in the oven? Its because the heat will get through. If you wrapped food using plastic it would be harder for the heat to get to it. Cold - day is cold hands, warm day - burnt hands
chrisybwell 3 years ago
They are plastic keys, the body of the keyboard is aluminum.
itstristanyo 3 years ago
How is it overall though? I don't want cold hands from touching the surface of the keyboard itself :(
Is it good to type on? I have to import the USA format to Australia because the MORONS over here only bring in the UK version!
(Why, I don't know, we use the US format in Australia)
