This is pretty neat. I've gone through a few boxes myself to get at the coppers i'm also finding some neat stuff. The oldest wheat I've found is a 1929. I did find a very good condition, fully shiny 1955-S wheat. The only foreign coins I've ever found are Canadian, with the neatest being a 1951 George VI. Found more Canadians and wheats than I have 2009s. Finding a bunch of the 2010 shields though, and tonight I found a 1970-D with a masonic symbol that someone punched into Lincoln's neck.
i went to my bank abouta year ago, and bought 2 boxes of cents as well. i got halfway through the 1st box and seen a wheat back, and it amazed me when it was a 1914 d. i pulled 56 wheats, and older canadian coins, and found a dime in there also it was weird. i also go for the nickel boxes too, you can find an occasional buffalo once in awhile but i pulled this weird aluminum coin and it has an elephant on it. but the boxes are really the best
And I average about 20 wheats per box. My oldest to date, a 1910. Within the past 3-4 months I found 2 Indian Heads in boxes. My son today, got a Buffalo Nickel in circulation at his job. One of the boxes I opened earlier this week had 5 wheats in one roll.
no.
