The Evo is a good car, for what its meant to do... rally race, which also makes it a good drifter. BUT due to the high psi the upper models run, it has major lag and can easily be beaten if it cant spool up in time. The major down side they don't tell you about, is the fact you have to re-build your engine and turbo every so many miles, Ive heard around 40,000 but I'm not sure. And as for the Corvette. Its over priced, as is the Evo.
The fact that the Evo is constantly compared to cars that have considerably higher costs and power, lets you know that it's a good car. You wouldn't even need the entire price difference between these cars to make the evo faster. Less than 10k in mods would be more than enough. I love imports and muscle. Just tired of the people who talk shit about cars because they're foreign and need to realize why their domestic was compared to it in the first place.
These guys can't drive, 12.5 with a Z06?? Every magazine in the world has tested the car at 11.5 to 11.8. Really good drivers have run low 11's even 10.90's .

Very close race considering the huge hp gap! Great job on both parts. But whats really more respectable, Beating a 4 banger with a V8 or beating a Legendary V8 beast with a 4 banger? I like to pull for the little guy but niether side can dis the other. V8 owners deffinatly can't brag because it's expectedto get the win, it's like fighting a guy ina wheel chair and bosting about it which is pretty weak. I think the driver in the Z06 just sucked. the guy in the Evo is Tsuchiya, the drift king, so he is definetely a better driver than the guy in the Z06. if they switch the driver, the Evo would've lost badly.

European cars have extremely heavy chassis, why do you think there normally so slow at the strip. They need all the traction control and fancy features to make up for there gargantuan weight. A solid rear axle is about as strong as it gets, why do you think trucks HAVE to use them, the only reason to not use a solid rear axle is to have a little smoother of a ride and try to prevent wheel hop.
And I guess youve only driven indian crap cars, and never been to a track.

Ive seen it before, besides a C6 is way to cheap for them. Look at the Z06 review when they compared it to the Ferrari and it was just as good performance wise. Also the newer ZR1 basically eliminates all the complaints about the C6 and Z06 and has a very advanced suspension.

My motor is pretty built up [head, cam, intake] I have basically full suspension upgrades, sway bars, sub frame connectors, new rear axle, driveshaft, bushings, control arms.
And yeh a solid axle sucks so much..... yet every car used to use them, and like I said they are EXTREMELY strong. Look at trucks and look at dragsters.
Go to the track, a properly build "iron rod" will do just as good as independent. I go all the time and never have issues crushing FWD crap.

the guy in the C6 ZO6 is a professional driver, but you got to remember that the Japanese drivers are usually used to drive a Right Hand Drive vehicle, that's why he's having a hard time with the C6 because it's a Left Hand Drive vehicle and he's not used to it. Put any Professional American drivers that is not used to drive a Right Hand Drive vehicle in a Right Hand Drive vehicle and you'll see that the result be the same as if they were in an American cars.

Very close race considering the huge hp gap! Great job on both parts. But whats really more respectable, Beating a 4 banger with a V8 or beating a Legendary V8 beast with a 4 banger? I like to pull for the little guy but niether side can dis the other. V8 owners deffinatly can't brag because it's expectedto get the win, it's like fighting a guy ina wheel chair and bosting about it which is pretty weak. Love the inside of the Z06 and it's an amazing looking car kitted or with wheels as well.

Vette is a track car, not only a straightline performer like other muscle cars. See videos where they actually show a stock vette can hang out with European stock supercars ie. lambo on twisties.

stock vs stock the vette will win in most races. Thats not fun though, try matching the hp and it'll be interesting. 4cyl vs. v8. 220whp vs. 505+whp. Those are mustang dyno numbers. I don't care what ppl have read about specs.
Of course stock vs stock the vette is gonna win. also, all those times 01Z06guy posted dont mean shit, if you get an average driver in both cars, you'll get no where near those numbers.
The evo is easier to drive, while the vette, you have to have more track time.

very well, The evo weighs 3400lbs and the vette weighs 2900lbs. AWD vs. RWD. AWD has very good launching and 60'. but looses power at top end powering all 4 wheels, while the v8 rwd vehical shines at top end.

European cars are nice, but are really hard to live with, any type of maintenance on them is much more difficult then on an american car. They also have much more complex electronic systems which further complicate things. Cars like the Corvette and Caddy V series prove american cars can turn.

European cars have extremely heavy chassis, why do you think there normally so slow at the strip. They need all the traction control and fancy features to make up for there gargantuan weight. A solid rear axle is about as strong as it gets, why do you think trucks HAVE to use them, the only reason to not use a solid rear axle is to have a little smoother of a ride and try to prevent wheel hop.
And I guess youve only driven indian crap cars, and never been to a track.

Top Gear hates every car from America......
Ive seen it before, besides a C6 is way to cheap for them. Look at the Z06 review when they compared it to the Ferrari and it was just as good performance wise. Also the newer ZR1 basically eliminates all the complaints about the C6 and Z06 and has a very advanced suspension.

My motor is pretty built up [head, cam, intake] I have basically full suspension upgrades, sway bars, sub frame connectors, new rear axle, driveshaft, bushings, control arms.
And yeh a solid axle sucks so much..... yet every car used to use them, and like I said they are EXTREMELY strong. Look at trucks and look at dragsters.
Go to the track, a properly build "iron rod" will do just as good as independent. I go all the time and never have issues crushing FWD crap.

according to me.. the only sensible American car.. is Ford GT... i cant think of any second to that car.. Individual suspension system for example has come into cars manufactured in the year 2002 in america, whereas its been used by mercs since 1960's.... which american car has Carbon-Ceramic breaks? Which american car has a fully automated 4-wheel differential? which american car has a 12 setting traction control system? damn cheap ass american cars are like a sofa with 4 wheels.... losers..

Individual suspension system [I think you mean independent] was first used sometime in the 1960s or 1950s by Ford and by the 1980s it was in basically every car except Trucks/SUVs.
If you mean independent REAR suspension then yes, a few american cars dident use it until recently BUT i personally like a solid rear axle, at the strip its almost mandatory. Most US cars had independent

I know the Corvette ZR1 has them, but as I said only expensive cars have them. A 12-setting traction control system? I know some American cars have it, but again some computerized garbage you dont really need if you know how to drive.

the guy in the C6 ZO6 is a professional driver, but you got to remember that the Japanese drivers are usually used to drive a Right Hand Drive vehicle, that's why he's having a hard time with the C6 because it's a Left Hand Drive vehicle and he's not used to it. Put any Professional American drivers that is not used to drive a Right Hand Drive vehicle in a Right Hand Drive vehicle and you'll see that the result be the same as if they were in an American cars.
