Tomatoslater, they're walking backwards for a couple of reasons. The original video for this song features the lead singer walking backwards through the majority of the video. So walking backwards is a nod to the actual video for this song.

The other reason because it's a reference to the lyrics. "I'm going back to the start". Even after all that Rose and the Doctor have been through, she will still choose to be with him if she can.

I agree totally! However, I think he's afraid to tell her he loves her. Because he's in love and she's in love, but one day he'll have to regenerate, and she's so enamored with him as he is that he's prolly afraid it would crush her. So he's a masochist and would rather inflict pain on himself than her.

That's why when Billie comes back for David's last episode, I want him to tell her he loves her, and her to say she loves him even if he regenerates (although no relationship with Matt Smith!)

@LebbsexMedGabbe I totally agree with you. However, this all shows how selfless the Doctor is. Just because he and Rose can't physically be with her doesn't mean he doesn't love her any less. To give her a part of him is the best he can do for her. He's pratically immortal and she's just an aging human by the day. There will be a day where Rose will evventually die of old age, but why not die with the part of the Doctor that can be by her side. I absolutely love their story!

@LebbsexMedGabbe The Doctor gave her that other doctor as they could grow old together and live a proper relationship. I don't really know why he didn't take Rose with him but the only reason I can think of is because he can regenerate he can't be with her forever. When he lost her in doomsday he felt that pain of loss which would be even worse if they lived together and then she died. I think he left Rose there so she could be happy and that he could have closure and not be hurt oor vulnerable.

@LebbsexMedGabbe That's how they tie down the loose ends. That's what keeps the series going. He's always alone so that everyone can dream about being with him. That's just the way the writer's write it. It's sad, but it's basic formula. Star Trek did it too with Captain Kirk. James Bond never stays with the same girl. That's just the way they like to portray action heroes. It sucks but it's true.

Oh this made me tear up so much! I love everything about it, ESPECIALLY the moment when the clips start going backward. Such a brilliant editing move/concept (and reminiscent of the original video for this song), esp. because most Doctor/Rose videos go from 9 to 10, but this goes from 9 to 10 to 9 and I just LOVE that. It's just such a beautiful thing to see them get their second chance. Your video did this better than the end of Journey's End. :)
