@40ChampagneSupernova . The only singles released from the 1st album were - Get the message and Feel every beat... Disappointed was not released as a single until 1994 (The b side includes a remixed version of Idiot Country)
@40ChampagneSupernova ''Disappointed'' was released in 1992 & was Electronic's biggest hit peaking at No.6 on the UK charts. It was a non-album single but is available on their ''Best Of'' album from 2006.
@DJFairborne77 .. My mistake mate, it was 1992. I have the cd single @ album.
I did say it wasn't on their 1st abum and was released as a single. Can't believe its 20 years ago, waw- 1994 is the year i seen Pink Floyd at Earls Court, my brain has been frazzled ever since. lol -)
@40ChampagneSupernova Hi there & thanks for your reply. I can't believe it's been 20 years since ''Disappointed'' was released, but it's still a great song & along with their debut album, was the end of a glorious 1st chapter of Electronic's career. You saw Pink Floyd in '94? Was that the ''Division Bell' tour? Can't believe that's 18 years ago now as I left school when that album came out. So long ago now though!... :)
@DJFairborne77 .. Yep that was the Division Bell tour (Last night of the whole world tour).. Even more bizzarely that Saturday night 29th October 1994 was the very also the same night that the National Lottery started !!.. Just a litttle trivia for you there lol-).. Yeah Electronic were a great little band and the second album Raise the Pressure was good imo.. 18 years ago, it just seems like yesterday. It's pretty scary tbh.
@GarethNisbett .. Just a single mate, no album -(. album came out 1991?) single was 1994.. They have another album called Raise the Pressure, it's good aswell bud.
i bought this on japanese inport for £7 on single and my mate lent it and never gave it back, thank god for youtube, I LOVE YOU ALL FOR APPRECIATING GOOD MUSIC!
@pharao707 Don'T talk nonsense. Disappointed was released in 1992 before the release of Rhythm is a Dancer in 1994. If you don't know something very well, it is better to shut up...
@NaturalHeaven Both videos are from 1992 & were directed by Howard Greenhalgh. I think the 2 videos do look similar in places with the swirly computer graphics etc. Greenhalgh would go onto do many Pet Shop Boys videos from 1993 - 2003 & appears briefly in the ''Before'' one.
@IggieJoy You can find "Disappointed" in the soundtrack of "Cool World" movie or Electronic's Greatest Hits album, which was released a few years ago. It was released as a single, which reached number 6 in UK lists (aahh those times when charts were really charts, not the chimpanzees of modern times), the highest charting single of Electronic.
fuck today's artist and their stuppid music. These days they care more about their
image than their music. These days it's al about hookers. pimp nigga's, crap rappers and bitches who dress like cheap hookers who wiggle their ass to hide their bad singing. Man, i would swap those today's artist for the ones from the 80's in a heartbeat.
btw, what a shame we don't hear anything no more here in holland about the pet shop boys. It seems that they have only hits in the uk these days, because
it's a long time ago that they had a hit into our dutch charts.
Anyway, i hope they wil make a "comeback"before they get to old or maybe quiting making music, because they are not the youngest anymore.
It's so sad that we don't hear anything no more from alot of great artist who made damn good music in the 80's, so bring back the 80's !
You can see the Pet Shop Boys had a lot or probly all the input into who was going to direct the video for this single. This is obviously Howard Greenhalgh who would later go on to direct most Pet Shop Boys videos. Nice song, I like it.
I will look up what date this was produced - it had stacks of radio play on FOX FM 102.6 in 1990 , but I have lots of pet shop boys tracks well b4 the release date -west end girls -I had nearl 6 years b4 it hit the u.k ,from the states !
This is a great track & my favourite song of all-time! It should have been a massive hit back in '92, but it did get to No.6, which was good though. The early Electronic-stuff is really good & still sounds great now.
I wonder if Neil used this as a trial run for the music videos for the Very album from 1993, which used a lot of computer graphics?
I don't know, this vid just reminds me a lot of the Very vids (Can You Forgive Her? in particular), so I can't help wondering if there's a connection in that sense?
You are right as the director of this video was Howard Greenhalgh, who Neil was impressed by & so PSB worked with him again on all the ''Very'' videos and several others too, such as ''Miracles''.
Earthling86 - That is amazing I haven't heard Bad Lieutenant but I love Bernard Summer!!!!! New Order and Joy Division so they have got to be good. This gig is sounding better and better.
It's only £4.99 on iTunes for an expanded and remastered version of 'Electronic', which now has this tune in it, in case anyone's interested. Total bargain. :)
At last I found this Ace track - , know it so well it means so much to me - like many poeple here I'm not disappointed at all - -, Ilost my version and thought utube would be a savior only not to be able to find it 4 ages --keep it on here -love all your comments
