  • I had this one "back in the day", but something didn't feel right about it. Of course, this was in the '90s, so now I can't remember what that was, haha. I might have to give it another go, it seems a lot more appealing now.

  • @austinmackert Thanks for watching my friend!

  • 3 1/2 cd's... Mostly based on visuals I expect? Because I still play the game from time to time just to look at it :P Bottom line Sid did an amazing job : He simply was let down by the rest of the team... Art is still art I believe, it's made to look at it :) You made a comment that made me look at my collection right now : Sound. Mainly the richness of the explosions. Even though Hudson made a better 6502 with the HuC6280 explosions are still white noise & square waves ><

  • @Polywanacraka You know what's funny about this one? It was just on the "cusp" of YouTube rendering in HQ. So, it's crappy quality and the next one (Air Zonk) looks pretty good. Wish they would let you "re-upload" in the same file...you know? Ha ha.

  • Great review! Just got a Duo with a bunch of games in a bundle and this was in there. Can't wait to take a crack at it. Will definitely be upping it to hard to start though.

  • @dunpeal2064 Hey, very cool. It isn't an "easy" one to find. Thanks for watching! On a side-note...wow, I forgot how crappy the uploading looked back then. Haven't watched this one in a while. Ha ha.

  • This game has some interesting history behind it. It was released in 1991 in Japan. The graphics were quite sophisticated at that time, because this was one of the first super cd2 shooters released on the system. It took 2 years for TTI to bring this game over, by than, Thunder series has already been released. In this sense, this game was not well received in the USA. I remember EGM assigning this game 4s, commenting on it's lack of originality and repetitiveness. Too bad.....

  • I remember reading about this game back in the day in EGM magazine. I never actually played it though. Watching your video makes me think that this game is like Gate of Thunder with a few enhancements.God, I miss my Duo.

  • This is a very good shooter, But I don't understand why TTI decided to bring this game over to the West, when there were other standout SCD shooters on the Pc-engine. They could have converted such titles as Nexzr, Spriggan 1 or 2, Star Parodia, Sylphia, and Rayxanber III. This game was a fun play through still, I score it 3.5/5.

  • B E A U T I F U L!!!! Thats a buy! Thanks dude!

  • Wow, great review. The game looks like it would be fun for a play through. Probably would never touch it again afterwards though. That sucks. Guess I'd just have to play through Air Zonk again. :)

  • It is pretty fun. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the compliment! It was my first one.......ha ha. :)

  • Your reviews are living proof that a lot of the latter game mag reviews of TG16 games were outright lies.

You make those so-called reviewers look like wannabees.

Now, I know for certain that I should've bought this game when I had the chance!

  • @Psycausis Ha ha. Yeah.....damn wannabees! :)

Thanks for the compliment my friend!

  • By the way, a perfect ending to this game would have been with them terraforming the planet as the credits rolled. That would have been nice.

  • @atomofish That's a great idea. Something "a little bit" in regards to an ending would have been nice. Ha ha! :)

  • That looks pretty nice. I like that it's fairly easy because I really suck hard at shoot'em ups.......

i'm glad I found your show because I bought a PC-Engine Duo several months ago, modded and with S-Video output so i'm on the lookout for games :)

  • Wohoo! I'm glad you found it too. Thanks for the support and watching!!

  • I really want to play this game. If anything it still looks like a fun shooter, and damn I was really blown away by the music in this game. Stage 3 music = EPIC. It's also interesting to see Syd Mead's work put to use here.

I also wish it had more of an actual ending, but Shmups aren't exactly plentiful in that department.

  • It is a really good game. You know? If you like shooters, it is fun to play. A 3 1/2 out of 5 is still an above average rating (and not too far from a 4....hee hee).

I think you'll like it if you get the chance. Thanks so much for watching! :)

  • LOL! Of a game from 16 years ago that HAS no ending? Relax man! :)

  • Wow this game actually looks pretty good, I was the lone Duo user in my city as a teen and stayed away from this one due to it's poor review on EGM, I kinda wished I hadn't now.

  • I think you'd like it if you enjoy shooters. You know? I did.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Very cool visuals on this game. Hope it comes out on the Wii.

  • It definitely has a unique style to it, visually. Thanks for watching!

  • amazing review and i think you are the irategamer of pinball and turbo

  • Yeah, the reviews are great! :)

  • YOU COPIED MY REVIEW!! Heh heh, just kidding there. You actually pronounced Syd Mead name correctly for example. I'm hoping this comes out for the Wii.

  • LOL! Well, either we have exactly the same opinions, or I'm the Irate Gamer of TurboGrafx reviews! Hee hee.

  • Heh heh, I think we liked the same stuff like cool visuals and hated the lack of story in the game itself. It's not like it was word for word. TOASTY!

  • great review.

  • Thanks a lot. It was the first TurboDuo review and....well.....things have obviously grown. Make sure to subscribe, there are a bunch more in the works. Thanks again for watching!

  • Nice to see a reviewer dedicated to TurboGrafx, *subscribed*

  • Thanks so much. I'm hoping to keep on reviewing. I've dusted off the Turbo and am really enjoying playing the system again. :)

  • Do you plan to review the Dynastic Hero? I like that game.

  • u rock chris!!!!!!

  • So glad to see you back man! I love yr reviews

  • Awesome, glad to see you're back!

  • I am so glad your making reviews again!!! Thanks man! 5/5, I need to get a Turbo Grafx soon.

  • Ha. Great. Thanks a lot! :)

  • good choice of game to review.

But am I the only person wondering how someone who owns their very own family guy pinball can drag themselves away from it long enough to make other videos?

  • LOL! Well, the good news is that my "pinball games" are in a different location than I reside at the moment. So, it's pretty easy. :)
