my mother bought one of these and it is so rediculously bad on gas. We're trading in for a used '09 MDX instead. Hopefully we'll see some mileage improvement.
I agree with you about the new cars (Acura , Mazda, Honda and im sure more to follow)....
I think this Lexis is very elegant....the design is smooth, there is not one sharp edge on it, it has the lowest drag in its class (testament to it's smooth design). It's really top notch and veryy specail...you see more Land Rovers then you see this...The interior is the best and it has some of the first tech (side mounted cameras) and much more. Not to mention it will last longer then Merc and Rovers.
Hi Toyota4Life. I saw exactly this car on the road yesterday. I still don't think it's elegant (as far as an SUV can be elegant anyway). The rear resembles strongly to the VW Toureg - I guess they copied the rear end design - it's so similar. Well, guess this SUV is still in terms of longelivety and quality one of the best. I'd prefer it to a Mercedes although I am not really a great fan of Toyota. Cheers
me again, buddy: oh, you mentioned the drag. Does that really matter if you look at the type of car? I don't really think so. BTW: I spotted the 2009 Mercedes E-Class on the road yesterday, took a vid and posted it here on youtube. Cheers
True i wont buy a car because of it's drag but its just adds to the fact the design is not a after thought when it come to Lexus. To get the drag low on a car this size is not small feat and this just proves how Lexus design, attention to detail and build is top notch. Remeber its the things that are are invisible to the eyes that really make the difference.
The 09 E Class...that should be good...Lexus needs to send out a brand new GS since the competition will all have new faces. Cheers
I agree with you on how Toyota cares more for the details in terms of finish, exterior and interior. To be honest, sometimes american cars are so lousy put together, it's a surprise. But I'd say, the Tundra is more to go showing off, an american truck is really built for heavy duty use. Nonetheless, I had american cars and they were the most reliable I ever had (and I drove japanese, german cars as well). That is contradictory to the theories we have. Anyway, cheers, Buddy
I'm sure the 09 E Class will be good, It MUST be good. They have no other choice than to make it good. I personally am sceptical about Hybrid Technology since I do not believe it is environmental-friendly. Also, I only like the LS design, nothing very special actually, but neat. Don't forget: A Lexus absolutely lacks image (here), and THAT is exactly what you pay the premium for. AAahhh, never ending topic, huh? Cheers, mate.
It's said: you wanna show off? Buy a Mercedes. You want Understatement? Buy a Lexus. I really woulnd't now what to buy: a Lexus or an S-Class. I'd go 70% with the Lexus.Oh boy, the good thing is: I'm not really in the position to make such a choice, lol. How relaxing actually...anda again: cheers, mate
I had been in this car, lol, dont know why I hated it but, yeah, its nice & comfortable and has got good amount of tech stuff in it. But, God they way it is, I hated it. I was getting bit irritated when I was in it. I love the Porsche Cayenne, yeah it does not have 3rd row but what a power from just 5.0ltr engine and dont forget the Range Rover & the brand new Mercedes Benz GL 550. That rocks and doesnt look like a Japanese Sumo wrestler. I especially love the Mercedes Mclass. I hate this one.
Looks like a Japanese Sumo wrestler, if you have seen and been in it for real...I will tell you, the Mercedes GL550 much better, may lack a few techno stuff but really, much better styling and power etc.
na i see GL on the road and they dont impress me...a couple days ago one of these in a sexy glossy black paint job pull up and the thing draws attention...sweet mercy
You like it more than the Range Rover, I am not advising you about anything, but if you are looking for 3rd row seating then I would say that you can go for the Mercedes Benz GL550 2008 model. I hated this car, it does not look like an appealing product, the body styling is just slightly edgy than a Land Cruiser, over all may look like a Japanese Sumo wrestler....lol:+)

Beautiful: Ugly and a glorified Landcruiser at that.
Powerful: The competition is powerful too.
Luxurious: The copetition is just as luxurious.
Bullet Proof Build Quality: Yep, but the competitors are solid too.
The Best Off-Road Capabilities: Oh please, show me some facts. The Range Rover and Benz GL are also impressive offroad.
Advanced Safety: Thanks to copying Mercedes.
Advanced Technology: Huh? You just made that up, right?
This thing is so ugly and overrated. A good car, but not for me.

definetly a good car, but elegant? japanese cars (talking about new ones) totally lack on any coherence in terms of design...

i like this better than the range rover. Better quality, just as capable off-road, IMO better-looking, and more spacious.

Hate the bulging bumpers, rear lensesand that hideous rear glass wing.
Just an ugly vehicle on the outside.
What a shame.
