Fly fishing for carp is awesome when u go fishing for them u dnt know if ur going to catch a 5lb carp or a 12lb carp its just one of those fish u have 2 try catching on a fly plus they give you a hell of a fight.

I said that because I am very interested in FLY fishing for carp...Not baitfishing with flyrods...but most of the videos here on tube seem to convieniently not show the actual fly..I wasn't accusing you i wanted to know what pattern you used...It's a "purest thing" thats all.

Colorado is infested with Snobbish, better-than-you attitudes like this. I've had several fly fishermen make uppity comments to me because I'm a spin fisherman. Well, what those snobs don't know is that I caught hundreds of fish, 17 different species, in a wide variety of waters last year - not just brookies rainbows & browns.

You fly fishermen are a different breed, which is fine by me, but the further I am away from you guys, the better.

Hmm...I have met several people like you describe..and agree 100%...I simply refused to put down my spinning rods because I picked up a Flyrod...I use flyrods for the challenge..and the rewards of meeting the fish on more even playing field...But im not shelving my spinning rods for anyone...and would suggest you dont either.

There is nothing right or wrong about fishing. Yes, some fly fisherman are snobs but there are plenty who just like the challenge and asthetics of fly fishing. I fish the Credit River mainly and have found that fly fisherman are like motorcycle riders, they'll stop a talk to one another. But if it's not your thing, so be it. Personally I don't care, as long as you fish you're alright in my books.

I agree, but that hasn't been my experience. My own fly-fishing buddies often give me crap for "hucking metal" instead of a fly.

There are plenty of carp specific flies out there. Wooly buggers work well, so do any soft shell crawfish imitations and you can even use patterns that mimic korn or popcorn. Google carp flies and you'll find plenty.

Some people cheat by using bait on a flyrod...Not saying this guy was doing that..but i had to ask because fly fishing for carp is much more difficult than baitfishing for them, and I never saw the fly pattern in this video.

Very nicely done! That to me is what exemplifys the joy of flyrod carping. I also like to fish with a spotter. Nice way to learn and help your buddy. Nice colored healthy fish. Where are you guys fishing?
