  • don't give up if it doesn't work sometimes, protect freedom!

  • well i had the same problem, and i put XP pro back in,but it was to dam slow,

so i have put Ubuntu 10.04 BACK IN, BUT BEFORE doing that i put the Logitech mic in the USB slot, and installed Ubuntu it just picket it up and is working beautifully not a problem at all.

So go try that it should work!!

P/S this was on a HP 4310S Notebook.,the mic was a Logitech desk mic!!

  • this did not work for me as well.

and i think this will work only if on the hardware the uploader has.

  • @amaranthflavius it works for realtek audio chipsets, sorry forgot to mention but!!! try these steps and maybe u will have your microphone working:

****** try alsamixer in terminal, just type alsamixer and hit enter, hit Tab to switch to capturing devices and make sure every thing is unmuted.

******if that didnt work also - try to install "pavucontrol" application, search in the software center. install and then find it in the sound and video menu, run and see if everyting is unmuted.

  • @yooyoomine i found the solution on the ubuntuforums. works great. thanx anyway:)

  • sorry, but it didn't work!

  • @shrinux do u have realtek sound chip?
