I got the 300 system at a garage sale back when I was a kid. I had so much fun and played it for hours. It left the infamous 'perma-screen' imprint on our TV, so Dad unhooked it. I'm surprised that the reviewer didn't comment on the Hockey game and how you could toggle the switch to have a 3 on 2 game. That increased the odds for novice players.
@jayanxiety (That would be me, Biff as in Biffsgamingvideos). That '3 on 2' game is the 7th game supported by the chip. Most pongs had 4 and some had 6. I was going to do a seperate video on how to unlock that 7th hidden game. It was a surprise. I wanted to go through all of the pongs and see how many I could get to work before making the video. In the next week or so look for it.
I find it interesting how the sound use to come from the unit. Of course it was basic sound so I guess that was ok, no need to worry about sound to TV then at least. Hey you could play that on a TV with a broken speaker.
Great vid!!!! By the way, do you happen to know of someone who can repair The Odyssey 300 & The Atari 2600 video game systems???

I remember the old PCs used a PC speaker in the case and then if you got lucky bought a soundbaster card and speakers. Must have been a money thing,

It seems for like 5 years in the 1970s, video game companies just thought pong was the only thing they could come up with.
I can't believe they were still making new pong systems up until the mid-80s
