One mistake in the video is that if an officer has the right to search your glove compartment, the officer does NOT need to explain that reason to you at the time of the search. If the officer finds contraband in your glove compartment and the D.A. wants to use it to prosecute you, the D.A. will have to prove that the officer had probable cause to search. You can also just ask the police department later, such as through the incident report, ultimately being able to file a 42 USC 1983 lawsuit.

So contest the issue. If your opinion matters to you, and it should, then stand up for it. Understand however that there is the reasonable expectation that the class should be able to stay somewhat on schedule and on topic. You also want to make sure that you're expressing your opinion in a non-disruptive way. While disruptive forms of expression may be legitimate, they're more difficult to justify.
