I agree that Thrice isnt a christian band and Dustin doesnt explicitly mention Christ in the songs he writes, and there are a good number of his song that dont have christian influence, but you can't help but realize Dustin's strong faith. He now leads worship at Mars Hill Orange County, and there's an article about him on their website where you can read more about it.
As somebody who's not all that religious, I still fell the power and understand the meaning in these songs. That is how well they're written, they are meant for anybody to interpret as they see fit, yet still get the same feeling of passion, emotion and love from the harmony, lyrics, and music in general. I've been following Thrice for 10+ years and I'll continue to do so until it is impossible for me to do anymore.
It seems as though you are discovering math rock and genres similar to it (post-hardcore is a genre that math rock was mostly derived from, and shares similar qualities). Have you heard of The Dismemberment Plan, Battles, Dillinger Escape Plan, or Atlas Sound? You'd probably find something you like in those bands, too.
True fans may very well enjoy everything Thrice has put out. It is very, very rare (as in no other band) that I like every single song a band has put out. Somehow Thrice has managed to keep me hooked on every album and song they've released since I started listening to them over 10 years ago. It feels like we grew up together.

I'm having a discussion with a friend about how this band has matured their music and how the new music has so much more depth & how their old music was very amateurish compared to now. @JohnJohn6999 I recommend their album "Illusion of Safety" (one of my all time favorites) if you like fast-passed "power" songs and awesome guitar riffs (Note: This is their older stuff so it might sound very different, but still good)... But just research their stuff and choose what you like... You can't go wrong :)

@syrus817 As of now, no. It took me a while to get into Beggars. Their newer albums are just becoming more and more straightforward. I'm into those jaw dropping moments like the ending to Of Dust and Nations, the piano to Flame Deluge, harmonies from The Whaler. Thats the Thrice I love and never gets old. Everything after Alchemy Index is good but nothing special.
@uberAdamC dude everything after the alchemy index is just Beggars which you said it took you awhile to get into, implying you did eventually get around to liking it. I didn't like their new song "Promises" very much when I first heard it but after giving it several more listens it has become a favorite. I love Thrice, I love all Thrice, but they are a constantly evolving band, you can't expect to hear the same thing from them every album. Give this new stuff a decent chance, look for subtleties

As Riley said, this is not the way the record is intended to be heard. Hope you do the right thing. I really thought the release of the Vinyl was a brilliant way to allow the fans who paid money for the album to hear it first (Riley made this clear). Now you are changing that by allowing people who will not even buy the record to hear it before many who preordered and are holding out. Hope you do the right thing.
I really think you should take these down, I've been asking the others who uploaded it to do the same and they have. I don't think its fair to the band.They or the label should get to choose how to release THEIR music not you. They will probably stream the album a few days prior to the record. Riley actually got into an argument with a fan on twitter about ripping the Vinyl to mp3. I know you're probably trying to promote the CD but the band should do it their way.

Yer I agree with dannynatmusic, take these down man... It's not right, and considering this has happened to them before, its disrespectful. Even if its good to get everyone to hear them, let it be heard when it should be heard instead of ruining months of hard work.

been listening for more than 10 years bought every release but didnt have the money to pre oreder so its nice to hear this.. People will always rip music, but that shouldnt ruin for people like myself who want to listen to it now.. not everyone who listenes to this is guna buy the record but i will

@dannynatmusic just wait,?, naw i think ill listen again then buy the album when it comes... Thrice isnt losing any money by me listening to this, Ive only given them 10 years in ticket, merch and albums sales. so ill listen to it all night for you then buy it on the 20th

@jasonssssssable At this point you are right, you listening to these does not hurt the band, its absolutely your choice, my problem is with this uploader ruining Thrice's way of releasing this album. Its people like you though that can't wait for the release date that cause people like this to leak the cd early. Glad you enjoy it though.

As Riley said, this is not the way the record is intended to be heard. Hope you do the right thing. I really thought the release of the Vinyl was a brilliant way to allow the fans who paid money for the album to hear it first (Riley made this clear). Now you are changing that by allowing people who will not even buy the record to hear it before many who preordered and are holding out. Hope you do the right thing.

I really think you should take these down, I've been asking the others who uploaded it to do the same and they have. I don't think its fair to the band.They or the label should get to choose how to release THEIR music not you. They will probably stream the album a few days prior to the record. Riley actually got into an argument with a fan on twitter about ripping the Vinyl to mp3. I know you're probably trying to promote the CD but the band should do it their way.
