Dick Vitale is everything good about basketball. He is such a passionate man. It is mind boggling that people would say he doesn't deserve to get in. Obviously, as a coach he doesn't have the win/loss record, but as a contributor he most certainly should be in. This guy is the face of college basketball. He is an inpiration to young people chasing a dream. I wish that there were more people with the passion of Dickie V

You're a moron. The sport was made in the 80s by BIG East, Gtown, Ewing, Sampson, The Tar Heels, The Hoosiers, Louisville, Houston, etc. Those teams/players/conferences were FAR more responsible for making the NCAA Tournanet and college basketball a huge factor in American sports than Dick Vitale.

I don't get why everybody is hating on Dick Vitale they say he never played and wasn't a great coach but the basketball hall of fame is about how much you've done for a sport. And he has done a bunch, he is great and he did wonders for College basketball which is more recently the biggest part of basketball

His contributions to basketball have been as valuable as any coach or player. When you think college basketball, you think of Dick Vitale. You may not like him as an announcer, you may find him irritating or whatever, but he's still been a huge promoter of the sport.

Love Dick but he is not a basketball player. He should be in the announcers hall of fame but not basketball. He said it himself, he can't run, he can't shoot.
