JUST MADE IT.... In 1957 "Love Is A Golden Ring" peaked at No. 10 thus just making Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 14 weeks in the Top Hot 100!!!
Terry Gilkyson and the Easy Riders sang back-up on this record, Gilkyson was also the composer of this song...
musical shows made exceptions-- if you look at dean martin singing memories are made of this you will see the original backup- terry gilkysons easy riders singing with dean a few days after the song was recorded--its on youtube
loved frankie's voice sang some wonderful songs over his career but this is my all time favourite of his and too see him singing as made my day thanks mate!!!!
Frankie's version was a top 10 recording in 1957 but I have never heard anyone else do the song. For some resone that I have never found. It was never included in any of Frankie's albums. It was a very good recording.

Hey Perry, Frankie closed his eye because of the advice you used to give. "Don't let the Stars get in your eyes!"

great frankie laine but just like the networks of the 50s to substitute the writers and original backup singers with generic vanilla flavored people

The musical show of the fifties all had their own bands and back-up singers. They couldn't use the ones the record companys had.

Haven't heard this for 50 years until a country band played it a week or two back. Told me I was the first person they had met who knew the song!
