THERE ARE 2 BANDS 1st IRISH BLUE HACKLE( NOT WELSH) WITH WOLFHOUND IN REAR WATCH CLOSELY,SECOND BAND IS SCOTS (SEE THISTLE ON COLLARS) ALL TROOPS MARCHING ARE IRISH BLUE HACKLE.THESE OTHER OPINIONS ARE ALL WET...THERE IS NO WELSH GUARDS BAND !!!!!!!!!!!
@bglennon1956 The first band is the Band of the Welsh Guards followed immediately by the Corps of Drums of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards (with the wolfhound). I was there to witness the occasion and can definitely confirm that the first band is that of the Welsh Guards.
Yar'. The Micks and Taffy's swap roles every two years or so, so your fiancé will be (or has been) doing a lot of ceremonial. I assume he'll be taking part in the Queen's Birthday Parade this year as his Regiment is 'Trooping' it's Colour?
Think the first march is 'Arnhem' and the second (at 1:35) is 'Eagle Squadron' by Alford. At 3:13 it is 'Bond of Friendship' and 5:27 is 'Birdcage Walk'
yes the first is Arnhem. Egad, the military maturity it takes to commemorate a lost battle and lost lives. You can hear it in the music - the march sounds like the agony and pain of defeat. Bob M

The Band of the Irish Guards do not appear in the video but were on duty at Horse Guards Parade for the ceremonial greeting of the President.

The Guards leaving Wellington Barracks are all Irish Guards. There were no Scots or Welsh there yesterday.

Why was the sergeant major shouting for?
emptyangel 2 years ago
He was trying to stop the band from playing to allow the officer in charge of the troops to be heard when halting them.
