Have one of the new San Dimas models, which I usually keep in standard - But other than that I play strictly Jacksons (I DO have a PRS Custom 24)
Good cover, although Im interested why you would use a kahler-equipped Charvel over your RR5, which has no trem. I find downtuning on fixed bridge guitars easier (And im sure most people would agree)
You have what looks like an X2N in the RR5 (Was watching your Crystal Mountain video), so output levels would be good?
all the attempts made on the main riff of this song on all the videos posted here ARE WRONG!! this is AT THE GATES , NOT DEFTONES. LESTEN CAREFULLY to hear how fast they really are playing. double up the low e's and triplet the e chugs, otherwise good job
Kahlers are sweet. I got the jeff hanneman ltd with the hybrid trem, and it fells like the saddles on a les paul, but it locks. Its so smooth and easy to flutter with. I <3 kahler.
Pretty feckin great...only problem that I noticed was the power chord palm mute section (the offbeat notes are supposed to be barely discernable or not played at all, not the same volume as the power chords). Other than that, sweet!
dude how many guitars do you want!! ive seen three so far, theres this one, the jackson flying v and the blue jackson. which is your fave?? im looking to buy a new guitar and i was wonderin if you could help me out a bit, ill be playin mostly metal. cheers. great cover btw
The second riff (stacatto) stays from triplets, not doplets, the middle part (from 1:35) is played with octaves, not power chords. Also the main riff is played without any vibratos on this video. Feelingless.
Wow. You know, I don't much mind someone telling me I suck as long as they tell me why they think that. You certainly have your reasons. Thanks for the comment.
I'm not pointing this guy out in particular but anyone on youtube who plays at the gates only covers blinded by fear or cold... never slaughter of the soul or under a serpent sun. The hardest of their songs.
i can play under a serpent sun XD but that weird triplets bit after the two guitars break off and go into the separate bits with the octave power chords and blah blah is a real bitch. lol. you play guitar i assume?
I have an old 1988 Charvel Model 4 as well, great guitars. Question: did you replace the bridge humbucker? And would you recommend doing so? I'm thinking of throwing a SD Blackout in the bridge, the default pickup is a little weak in terms of output, not good for metal...
Try changing the battery in it. I'm using the original pickups in this video, and this is one of the heaviest sounding "stock" guitars I have ever played. You do realize that they are active pickups, right? Or, maybe someone else switched them before you owned the guitar, unless you're the only owner. But if that were the case, the battery would have died long ago.
The pickups actually aren't active, it is just the overall electronics circuit that is. The pickups are all wired to the mid-boost which is the circuit component that is requiring the battery - not the pickups... Still, I've just put my 9V battery to recharge (it's rechargeable), and I'll report back if it makes any difference... Thanks for your help :)
if you take requests i reckon terminal spirit disease would kick ass. great job too. not many decent at the gates covers out there that are actually in B. 13/10
please make a lesson of this

I have the same guitar. It's got a Kahler bridge right?
Gerbren11 2 years ago
Absolutely! I love Kahler bridges, and I think it's a tragedy that they are so uncommon.

Watch it, you're missing a single open B (the last one) note in the intro riff.
LOLPombaer 2 years ago
-2? He's right there are only three notes. There should be four.

The tuning is standard B. It's in the description.
IntensityStorm 3 years ago
wow...RLY good player..when did you make this cover?
xXxBorknagarxXx 3 years ago
Also, you need to play the Lower E and A strings for the main riff not palm muted for the main riff, otherwise I see no problems.
