Good to see ole Durango again even if it's just a clip. Smiley Burnette wrote many of the songs he did in these films. He was very popular with the kids of the Saturday matinee.

I wondered whether he was Carol Burnett's father,but of course rhe spelling doesn't match.
I think the 'resemblance' comes from vaudeville...
