@ellaskins Yea, its the Ahhhh sample. If you plan to use it on a CDJ, i think they have a sample set available on the internet for free for practice. Not sure where. Just google Scratch Samples for DJs.
i'd like to know know aswell where to get the basic scratch sound your using =) any chance for uploading to a public sharing site, if it's a sound you recorded personaly, it's not covered by copyright ? =)
search for Scratch Roulette there are a few of these samples on it. though i cant remember where but there is a site where you can download a sample file that has about 3 short clips in it.
The video was intended to demonstrate a new technique using modern technology. It's also a great way of creating new types of scratch sounding effects.
Would just like to point out, if anybody can do this technique, why is not being demonstrated by most DJ's like your self mgband?
hmm... dunno if this can be really called scratching... It is a cool effect and all, and I will probably practice and add this to my toolbox, but I would never say, "I mastered all the scratch patterns" when really I am just pressing the cue button, which anybody can do.
Don't know, it is ok, don't want to be too critical.
Have a watch of the video again, I am crab/flare scratching without effects and just because I'm using a CDJ with a sample on the CD, doesn't mean its not a scratch? The pitch is acting as the scratch hand imitating the movement of the record (forwards & backwards)
I can't figure out where to ask this but is it a good idea to dj outdoors when it's cold outside? I mean it probably wont be colder than 40 degrees F. What is the lowest possible operating temperature of a Stanton C.324?
Electronically speaking, there's no reason it shouldn't be able to handle it. Even low spec parts can handle well below freezing. The problem comes not so much from cold as it does moisture and condensation when you move it back inside again... Let it dry before turning it on.
If you look at the electromechanical aspect of it, the motor and whatnot will have a problem at temperatures around -40. But at that point, I'd be more worried about the CDs shattering and your fingers freezing to bits.
This is amazing.

hello? didnt you listen to him saying 14 years of scratching? didnt see any scratch cdj's 14 years ago did you?
spacecowboy22 2 years ago
blatantly said since he was 14 and he didnt say scratching on a cdj im guessing he meant in general, eg- vinyl?
wakeyskate 2 years ago
Correct, i clearly said "I have been scratching since I was 14" I never mentioned been scratching on the CDJ for 14 years"
Watch, learn & listen!!!
Would just like to say, BIG THANKS! to all of you who appreciate this video and support my techniques!
