Sabres from 1 Air Division: There was always friendly dog-fighting between NATO Allies until some ground-bound USAF base commander said something offensive. Our lads (3 Wing?) decided that a pre-emptive strike was in order so they stuffed the speed brakes with toilet paper and headed for the Moselle River. I forget which USAF base they 'attacked' but 'thirty plus RCAF Sabres dove straight down and put out the brakes together early one morning.
VonJaerschky, I showed this my great uncle who served as a Spitfire Pilot in WW2 and a Canadair Sabre Pilot in the Korean war. Your video brought a smile to him as he remembered the days of flying high in the blue skies. Thank you.
Ahhhhhh...........No. Designed in the USA yes, but made in Canada. Canadair in Montreal license built over 1,800 Sabres. Canadair powered their Sabre with the Canadian designed and made Orenda series 14 engine, which was more powerful than the US Sabre. Canadair Sabres handsomely outperformed their US cousins.

@KosaiAvonej That's probably the most satisfying comment I've ever received. Thank you, and especially, thank your uncle for his service!
