The USA supported the Khmer Rouge regime because it was antivietnam and anti soviet. It was pro china however and since we wanted someone to undermine the new regime in Vietnam we supported the Khmer Rouge. And those death tolls are grossly blown out of proportion. Khmers killed at most 1 million and the North
Vietnamese several 100000. Even Stalin who was demonized by the west for hurting
Imperialism had his totals distorted by adding the number of enemy combatants killed by the Soviets in ww2
The conflicts in the middle east and throughout the third world can be attributed to colonialism and neo colonialism, the point of the Iraq war to expand U.S homogeny over the Arabian peninsula and the Persian gulf, it has nothing to do with the “Propaganda Terms” freedom and democracy since when has the u.s given two fucks about freedom in developing nations look how many dictators we have/ have had on our payroll , you’ll even find Sadam Hussein as a former recipient of U.S military aide (WMD)
@wordupg007 when has fox every knowing aired some thing wrong? All you liberal kids all ways cry about that but you can never come up with a valid incident. Media matters want even go on fox cause they know 99% of the shit they say about fox is BS. Where do you get your news some blogger in his moms basement?
@wordupg007 That has nothing to do with fox news people where tired of the same news coming out of different mouth spotting the same liberal BS line. Watch MSNBC coverage of the Iraq war under bush then under obama there is no more daily death count on msnbc like they did during bush. I watch fox daily I will guarantee I know more about what's happening in the world then you.
@blackmage1834 you do know the top 2% pays more than 60% of the tax revenue? And the bottom 50% cost tax revenue. Who do you thinks pays for unemployment, welfare, food stamps, Medicare and Medicaid? You should be thanking the top 2% not making out to be the bad guys. The bad guys are the bottom 50% that can't whip there own ass with out uncle Sam helping them
You Lefties are mad that your not the only public voices heard any more. In a country that is right of center for the news networks to air far left of center news is a insult. You people that hate fox news better get use to it there numbers keep soaring and msnbc and CNN viewership can't get much lower while maintaing profitable. Soon Obama will be gone and most of you can go back to not caring about politics and the adults will elect a president with experience.
@dieseldudee Just because the masses flock doesn't mean the information is correct. Fox is like a religion, the only way you'll agree with them is if you close your eyes and ears and be completely ignorant of what is going on around the world
@blackmage1834 your a idiot! You only know have the truth and that is more dangerous then knowing nothing at all. Fox news Is a business a very successful one before fox you only heard one side of the story with a liberal twist. All fox news does is provide another side of the story with a conservative twist. That's what most Americans wanted look at there rating more people watch O'reilly the watch msnbc as a network same for CNN as well.
Point 1) Fox News Network should not be called "News" if they are giving distorted, biased dribble, without fact-checking.
Point 2) According to Bill O'Reilly, anyone who doesn't agree with him is a lunatic.
Point 3) They make money for the right-wing conservative businesses, in the top 2%, by inciting fear into the public, and making them believe that the Obama administration is trying to do more harm then good.
i suport the NVA\vietcong because THEY were fighting for good. THEY not us were fighting for there country's independance and freedom. fuck bill oriely and his blind ignorence. he dosnt know what the vietnamese people whent through to get there freedom! they whent through 1000 times more than us americans did!!!!!!
He's suggesting a peaceful negotiation. Because by the same logic that Bill O'Reilly presented on the David Letterman show, the US pre-emptively striked against Iraq under suspicion of WMDs (which was proved to be false, and is against UN regulations), despite the fact that the US also has access to nuclear weapons. Therefore, there is no moral high ground that the US can claim from attacking Iraq. It needs to be an equal ground with peaceful negotiation.
the main reason we've stayed in Iraq for so long is because we want a piece of the oil there. also, certain wealthy americans want to profit off the war. if bill oreilly is so patriotic, i'm not sure why he didn't volunteer for the military when he was young. he was a good age to go to vietnam. i can't watch him without throwing up a little bit in my mouth.
By the way Mr O' Reilly, there was a thorough search for WMDs in Iraq and absolutely none were found. Your news channel then conveniently changed the reason for the war from WMDs to "Mission: Free Iraqi people". Considering that the US has supported over 25 murderous dictatorships, why is it this particular one you would like to emancipate? Hypocrisy much?
So secular means far left? Then the US constitution is far left. Considering how far to the extreme right this nazi country moved it doesnt surprise me.
O'Reilly spins one falsehood after another. He knows nothing about Vietnam; he picks his data to spin it the way he wants to spin it. At njo time does he mention the 2-3 million SE Asians killed by American bombing.
This is why FOX News studios needs to be bombed. They need the war to come home.
Fox commenters and their supporters are the problem. They're the mouthpiece for the far-right fascist corporate state. We need a new Weathermen Underground.
This is far right israel-hugging propaganda , israel stole the palestinian land and are a rasist nation with siege mentality... Even ordinary americans visiting get treated bad there when they start asking questions...
Bill O'Reilly has this terrible habit of giving the "anti war movement" the mantle of "left wing". It's non partisan. Go through many Conservative households and you will find that many of them believe that foreign wars are disasterous to their own security, and some of us who aren't particularly "left wing" have a conscience too. It's just a shame that we are alligned with Governmental Neo Con Yes men such as what you see on Fox every day.
You are exactly right. It is on both sides who do this unfortunately. If you are a Tea Part protester, you are a racist that doesn't like Obama because he is black. If you are a anti-war protester, you are a "far left kook" who doesn't support the troops. People who are brain washed on both sides of the isle need to snap out of the phony 'left vs right' propaganda the media uses to brainwash the masses and realize both sides are the heart and soul of America showing dissention.
Hey Susan (i make bad movies) saradon....59,000 not 650,000....and 50,000 were by the terrorists blowing themeselves up...oh if GW could of had a third term....
Did anyone commenting on this video even watch the friggen video? How can a decent minded SANE person disagree with Bill here? I agree sometimes he gets out of hand but you have to be out of your mind to disagree with him on this one. Every single video that has "Bill O'Reilly" in the title has thousands of baseless comments like "F*CK BILL O"REILLY" when those people saying those things are just mindless left-wing loon zombies being controlled by the mainstream media...PATHETIC!
@rileyparrish Well now you seem to love Bill? Ask yourself why he focused on the vague and questionable here... I do not agree with much of these leftists but I understand and appreciate their argument and concern. O'reilly's job then was to support the Administration and it is clear he is doing that in this piece and others like it. Of course now the "extreme left" is in power his tune has changed! The wars go on and get bigger and the left has fallen silent.... America IS messed up!!
@rileyparrish Quite a few generalisations...which is intellectually pathetic in its own right. Bill has asserted nothing but ad hominem attacks. The only factoids he cited were the violations of the cease fire. He is a belligerent and loathesome fool. I've stomached many of his videos, all the way through, and this is my logical conclusion. Perpetuation of the false dichotomy of left-right paradigm is what he does as well as neural linguistic programming
strange he brings up the 3 million people that were killed in vietnam by the commies but completely ignores the 3 million people that were killed in indonesia when america intervened and overthrow a democratic government
as for intervention in europe 1938 had the america intervened in 1936 to defend a democratic goverment ........
i don;t think these actors should be talking about war because i am pretty sure none of them haved served for their country the U.S these actor's are insane
@ngarcia1995 That is an utterly foolish statement; as if not participating in the destruction of human life abdicates one of the right to speak against it. You should've just left it at, 'i don;t think..'
tbh USA and UK did everything legal nothing they did was illegal these people are just no lifes with no jobs and Iran will end up getting the same problem as Iraq
@FatGermanBastard Sorry just because a news station does not spout the National Socialist Agenda does not mean that you can just call it not neutral. Infact European Newsbroadcasters are some of the mot biased in the world. If you want to go a step further I probably could point out a few more biased newstations than Fox such as CNN or MSNBC which are more biased than Fox.
@stedav Really? You claim to be a Human Rights advocate and yet you want to "launch a strike against" a group of people merely due to what they say. Is freedom of speech no longer a human right to you "Human Rights Researchers"?
If we attacked Al Queda 9/11 wouldn't have happened? How about if George Bush listened to the intel he got about 9/11 before, 9/11 wouldn't have happened.
@videosarefun69 And what about Clinton too? Alot of the intel about the situation unfolded during HIS PRESIDENCY. You know I find it so amusing that with all that went into 9-11 that there is any voice claiming that "it was all Bush's fault."
@CRTV1982 dude all I said was that the reasons for the Iraq war were bullshit then I asked you your opinion. Bill is entitled to his opinion but he's usually wrong. And nowadays he's the voice of reason on Fox, which goes to show how far things have fallen on the right.
@brodiman19 Okay. I do not consider Bill O'Reilly to be far right. I don't always consider him right. As for my opinion on the Iraq War it is hard to explain in a comment however, it is backed up by first hand experience in Iraq, twice. I generally do not share this opinion over the internet and will most likely wait until our troops are home to share it. What I get tired of is all of the Arm Chair Generals and the Short-Bus Diplomats that seem to occupy the current news media and internet.
@CRTV1982 Because I lack personal experience in the matter I'd like to hear your opinion on Iraq. But I have read a lot. A lot of opinions, a lot of facts. And the facts say that this foray of ours will eventually cost us somewhere in the 2-3 trillion dollar range. The facts say that tens of thousands have been wounded on our side, thousands more killed, hundreds of thousands have been killed or wounded on the Iraqi side and a million more are refugees. So what do you think?
@brodiman19 I will say that there are successes and mistakes in the conflict. There is alot of things people (including me) do not know about it and most likely will never know. However, I doubt you will understand what or why I believe exactly.
@CRTV1982 Try me, please. A lot of people say it was worth it in the long run and I understand it and maybe I'll even agree with them one day. Others say it could have been worth it if it was only done differently and I agree with that. What do you think?
@brodiman19 There were alot of mistakes made in the beginning and there still are mistakes being made however, things are not as violent there now as they were from 2004-2007. As for future benefits, time will tell on that one but I doubt that the US would have any real benefit in our involvment their. I would have to say that the only ones which would have any real benefit are the Iraqis pending on how they handle their own situation.
@CRTV1982 I didn't say it was ALL Bush's fault. All I said was Bush had intel that there was a planned attack with the hijacking of airplanes. Also I think O'Reilly is being a complete ass in this video.
@stedav Are you a christian? If then, Do you read the bible of course right? Well obviously in the old testament Israel is protected by the LORD and the reason Katrina came because George W. Bush told Israel to split the land with the Palestinians. Israel isn't gonna just give up because somebody says to split its land.
@xdrifter420x Yeah coming from the country that is insulated from most real foreign threats by the US. So tell me, what do you think that the US foreign policy is and why is it so horrible? And please try to cite your sources.
@xdrifter420x Yeah coming from the country that is insulated from most real foreign threats by the US. So tell me, what do you think that the US foreign policy is and why is it so horrible? And please try to cite your sources.
Yes he has. Did you see the interview he gave Sunsara Taylor? Did you see the interview with Michael Moore? (he had to corner Moore for that one BTW) Why is it that the far-left does not request interviews as oppose to trying to dodge them?
He is a terrorist? Who has he killed? What bomb has he set off? Do you think the Ft Hood shooter is a terrorist? I just have to ask because many who make statements calling average Americans terrorists for disagreeing also have the viewpoint that the Ft Hood shooter is not a terrorist.
So by merely excercising the right to free speech/press makes someone a terrorist now? I guess that makes just about everyone a terrorist in your book.
@brodiman19 When did I state that. You had someone say that O'Reilly is a terrorist and I am wondering how stating his opinion makes him a terrorist. I have a guy who says that Taylor and Moore do not speak for the far left's position. I asked what was the far left's position on the issue and I got a response that the "reasons for the war in Iraq is complete bs and the war is unnecessary." At what point did I state my opinion of the war?
While O'Reilly is correct about intervening in Europe 1938 would have saved millions of lives, but the fuck this he get the idea about Vietnam from? If USA wouldn't have been there in the first place millions of lives would have been saved, not the other way around. The North Vietnamese regime hasn't been as atrocious as the war itself was.
It's amazing America invaded Iraq and seems to be thinking about invading Iran when North Korea is so much worse in every single way (in the ways that the US has motivated the invasion of Iraq and theoretical invasion of Iran). Now why is that?
O'Reilly makes some points at the end of the interview when he says that if US had been involved in some wars earlier the conflicts may have had different outcomes. But do you think that those outcomes would have been more deadly or less deadly and would the US be better off. For instance what if like O'reilly said, the US intervened in WWII during 1938, would more lives have been saved or lost? Could we have defeated the Germans that early? What do y'all think and how is this different today
It gets worse! So now Sean Penn is branded an 'anti-American actor' because his political viewpoint differs from that of Fox News! It would be delightful if someone would just pull the plug on Fox News...
No, Sean Penn is branded as Anti-American because he is a communist druggie who has a slobbering love affair with Fidel Castro. (Penn's kids call him Uncle Fidel.)
@cultofdagon Please Sean Penn is considered anti-american because he is buddy-buddy with a ruthless dictator that his kids call "Uncle Fidel". This dictator considers himself an enemy of America. Sean Penn has constantly rooted against America, that is why Sean Penn is considered anti-american.
Wow, Fox News is hideous. I love how they seem to think that if you think the war is 'immoral' you must be 'far left'. It's nothing more than a way of smearing political opponents and it's absolutely disgusting.
Is O'RLY saying that the Bush administration should have preemptively attacked Al Qaeda, or only that Clinton Abandoned his responsibility to protect the citizens of American by not doing so.
ct you the far left would make you a communist to which these anti war people seem to tick alot of the boxes, considering they clearly dont allow freedom of speech by shouting down people, further correct me if im wrong but isnt it justice to place a mass murdering dictator i.e Saddam on trial after first toppling his brutal regime which killed many innocent hundreds of thousand of people last time i looked genocide was a crime against humanity to which Saddam did commit and George Bush did not
Which is why you need to look again. Saddam Hussein was brought to power with the help of the US government. They supported his party which brutally overthrew the gov't pre Saddam Hussein. In fact they supported him and his atrocities until he invaded Kuwait in 1990. Then they declared him an enemy and only then did they start preaching about how he is a villain. Maybe Bush himself hasn't committed genocide, but throughout history the US government has backed up governments which do so.
The US supported a coup to overthrow what had become a threat to the stability in the middle east & not to mention a govt which itself had staged a bloody revolution overthrowing a monarchy and a govt which had begun to commit shocking crimes thus the US backed a bid that could have brought freedom and stability, im sure if the CIA knew what madness under Saddam would follow the US might have acted differently but we dont all have crystal balls, the US tries to spread freedom and democracy
Oh god stop with the garbage. They knew damn well what kind of a man Saddam was and what Saddam's party stood for. The same thing they always have; tyrannical dictatorship. Only difference was that Saddam was willing to let US corporation get a nice piece of the pie in Iraq. Right after the coup I think it was 3 major US corps set up shop in the region.
Not to mention that Saddam's party took control in the 60s, yet the US supported them right up until 1990. The same year that Saddam attacked Kuwait, which was a haven for US corporations. In fact as soon as he attacked Kuwait the US declared him an enemy, but for almost 30 years they were okay with the atrocities he was committing, and supported him with his war against Iran. I mean seriously US foreign policy is filthy, there's nothing good about it.
Even President Lynden Johnson is quoted saying about Saddam (without paraphrasing of any kind) "I don't care if he's a bastard, as long as he's our bastard." That's the type of attitude the US government has for Iraq. There's no way a well informed person who believes in fact and proof can argue your point of view on this.
its one thing to assist in toppling a govt & another to outright invade a nation without a just cause, the US may in fact have been aware of Saddam's brutality later on but had to accept him until a just reason came about that happened to be Kuwait & even after that Saddam was given a second chance, but today Iraq is one step closer to a free future thanks to US help & so what if US companies want to set up shop, big companies in poor regions bring wealth & opportunity thats better than poverty
What!?! Umm maybe the "just cause" should have been Saddam's brutality against his people. I mean that's the reason now. If they can keep the war going now in order to "prevent atrocities" they certainly could have started one back then. Pay attention to what you say. Also the war with Iran happened between his rise and Kuwait, and the US supported that as well. Second chance??? you give a brutal dictator who's been slaughtering for decades a second chance??
Also your completely wrong. Learn something about economics if you wanna talk economics. Large companies in underdeveloped areas only make things worse. Think about it, those natural resources are being put to use by a US company, so that means that its fueling the US economy while Iraq is just sitting there losing resources which could be used to fuel their own economy. If you want to respond think a little bit before you write something.
i admit you are right in some regard, perhaps Saddam should hav been removed the first time for his brutal crimes, but narrow mindedly the US believed he might change that didn't happen, further in relation to economics even US companies hav to pay their workers & even some companies train and educate their employees in useful subjects especially in the petroleum industry, further the fact these workers get paid & spend that money in their local economy helps growth for the region affected.
Okay so your just assuming that the good intentioned U.S. believed within a span of 30 years a man who's been slaughtering his own people will change? No they knew from the start he was a bastard President Johnson even said so. And then just at the time he attacks Kuwait they realize he won't change? Honestly that's just naive. And the amount of money the people of an underdeveloped country like Iraq can spend, cannot in any major way stimulate a country's economy.
If you just read some basic economic principles and took the time to understand them you'd know that notion is just ridiculous. Either way that doesn't give the US the right to tap into Iraqi resources and use it for themselves. The only losers in the situation are the poor people of Iraq while the only winners are filthy rich American's who really don't need any more money.
well clearly we disagree thats both our rights but its clearly a waste of time me trying to convince you the US stand for freedom and opportunity for all & its a waste of your time trying to convince me other wise i've seen how big corporations can help the poverty stricken and actually do good, lets end it here we've just got two great difference of opinion and no middle ground.
The thing is you haven't seen big companies doing that type of thing. Maybe you heard it on mainstream media but you don't understand the concepts. It's outlined in many books read up on it. And I'm just supporting facts.
@oli90 Really and I suppose those Communist and Fascist regimes that commited those genocides opposing the US were some how "philanthropic"? I suppose that you can find me one of those "Philanthropic" entities that acted solely for the good of some one else?
haha i know, some of them are so crazy they protest about health care and say the governmetn wants to put them in concentration camps..hahaha. what whack jobs...oh wait no thats conversatives...nm.
Really, how am I being a "white supremacist" by saying that we need to stop sitting around and allowing Iran to build nuclear weapons when they've clearly made threats in the past to exterminate people? Are you saying that you would rather see another terrorist attack on American soil?
You're white supremacist ideology has you believe that whites should be the sole owner of nuclear weapons in order to dominate everyone else. The fact that you have a President who has some African ancestry changes nothing because at the end of the day he is still fighting for the racist ideology of manifest destiny.
Wow. You're reading a lot into a simple two sentence response on a YT video. First of all, I don't think anyone should have nuclear weapons. Period. That includes the United States. Until an agreement is signed and EVERYONE abides by it, there's really nothing that can be done, is there? The only nuclear facilities that should exist are medical facilities that deal in radiation therapy or nuclear power plants. Also as much as I don't like Obama, he's not the worst world leader. Now just STFU!
Absolutely true. I am not far-left--exactly the opposite, but I agree with them. And O'Reilly is a fucking asshole. He should come up against Steven Seigal. He would shrink into a corner like the coward he is.
Before this I watched the videos with the debates with Richard Dawkins and Sunsara Taylor and my conclusion is that Bill is just a retard. He's not debating, he doesn't even think about the points others bring. He's pretty much just mocking them all the time. Look how he's mocking Sean Penn who actually doesn't have a bad point. In the other interview he actually calls Sunsara Taylor a lunatic while she has a very strong point. Bill is a retard. Fox News twists everything and often simply lies.
breaking a ceasefire NEVER gives anyone the right to remove the governing power of the violator. Iran never said it wanted to wipe israel off the map, it said it wanted the zionist regiem to be removed, ie regiem change not annihilation.
It is ignorant for anyone to think that a war would come without a crime of some sort. And it is equally as ignorant to expect America to pull out in such a quick fashion. Right now everyone is concerned about being right, and bill as well as the otherside have the luxery of throwing out numbers like 650k and 59k. 1 death is enough in my book. When was human life so insignifigant that 59k is any better then 650k? Bill is nuts, but i agree that Sadam did violate the U.N. and action was required
thanks to the poster of these videos-i lvoe seeing classic bill oreilly interviews like this, it reinforced why hes great. idk if you noticed but taylor looked like (and is) a total dumbass who has NO support. shes delusional, along with anyone who backs her
Hm. Bill was right, not only were those four people ignorant, but he's also right about the war. It was not illegal, and a bunch of peace loving anti- war freaks can't come up with a good reason to oppose the war other than that it "disturbs peace" and the "balance of nature" so to not sound like idiots, they lie and that the war was illegal. Even though that still makes them sound idiotic, they still have a reason. Hm.
rne1223 is right but thats a bit extreme i belive that ONLY the United States , Russia, China shoudl have nukes. why? because none of those countrys have extremist leaders, and Korea is well going beyond everything and testing nukes and long range missiles is just asking for another cold war
alternatly NO middle easter county, that includes Israel, why? because they are all govornments highly influenced by religion and thats just unstable
I saw two videos and now I hate O'reilly!! Is he out of his mind!? He calls a guest a loon and on the other hand make "fun" of people who can't contradict as good as he does...
The US had a right to remove Saddam for failing to comply with the ceasefire. He had WMD and said that he didn't. He also stated he was waiting for the UN inspectors to leave so he could restart his nuclear program. His son also put a bounty on US soldiers....isn't that enough to get him out?
Notice towards the end he asks, "Is the removal of Saddam a war crime?" When framed like that, most Americans obviously hated Saddam but the full aspect of the war was unjustified. Also notice after every person makes their comment, O'Liely has to rephrase it to build a straw man.
Bill is already streching the truth at the beginning of his program. It's legal because the Prez is the commander in chief. If he wants a war, he's got one. I sometimes hear right media figures complain about Obama using too much power. Truth is, the office of the prez has had too much power for a long time; just when Obama uses it, he's like a dictator.
Iran has always stated that they have planned to enrich uranium for energy purposes. Now I don't know if that's true or not, but what I do know is that there's a wacko totalitarian dictator over there in North Korea that not only flaunts his nukes, but threatens the United States with them on a consistent basis. The powers that be in our country care more about Iran because they are sitting on a plethora of oil that our government so desperately wants. It's ridiculous.
Just adding on here...The book "1984" showed Engsoc in a constant state of war and always staged constant sensory stimuli to make the people love the gov. like a brother and venomously hate their enemy. From what I know, Kim Jong Il has read that book and does many things described in it. The newspapers there constantly warn the people about an upcomming war with the U.S. That's why I tend to think his threats to us are mostly smoke. I would assume North Korea does it regularly.
Think about this situation in realistic terms. They have nuclear weapons, they routinely test fire them and they have said they wished to wage war against the U.S. Now, do I think this is cause for a pre-emptive strike, absolutely not. But it is a cause for grave concern. We should be focusing our attention on coming up with a resolution to that situation. Forget Iran for now, they have their own demons they must fight.
We invented nukes, so we should have the all rights patent on them. If China and Russia make them that is fine, but we should be able to charge them a 50 Trillion dollar international patent surcharge.
Let's think of others we'd like to see with nukes, shall we? How about:
Adolph Hitler
The leader of the KKK
Osama Binladen
Mel Gibson (hahaha)
The Pope
...hmmm, maybe this isn't such a good thing.
I ran wants to end the life of Jews. They are next door to Israel. Think about it!
ME? According to the US Patent office, you can't get a patent based on "the idea or suggestion". You have to describe a specific process (one that works).
History: Einstein wrote Roosevelt (about-com "History of the Atomic Bomb"), said the Germans were working on it (never came close to achieving), and then $2 Billion and 6 years later, the Manhattan project detonated one.
(your rebuttal needed to focus on the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 with Atomic exclusions to Patents ;) )
I'm glad you did some research before you started spouting off more bullshit, but I was telling you that your government DID NOT invent nukes. I wasn't debating who holds the patents on them.
No no. I get that. I just don't get why someone who inteperets the definition of "invented" different in favor of Nazi Germany scientists means that they're a Liberal. I mean, they never suceeded but they were the first to start on it and got pretty far.
The USA supported the Khmer Rouge regime because it was antivietnam and anti soviet. It was pro china however and since we wanted someone to undermine the new regime in Vietnam we supported the Khmer Rouge. And those death tolls are grossly blown out of proportion.

No. No he's not.

Bill O'Reilly has this terrible habit of giving the "anti war movement" the mantle of "left wing". It's non partisan. Go through many Conservative households and you will find that many of them believe that foreign wars are disasterous to their own security, and some of us who aren't particularly "left wing" have a conscience too. It's just a shame that we are alligned with Governmental Neo Con Yes men such as what you see on Fox every day.

People who are brain washed on both sides of the isle need to snap out of the phony 'left vs right' propaganda the media uses to brainwash the masses and realize both sides are the heart and soul of America showing dissention.

@rileyparrish Quite a few generalisations...which is intellectually pathetic in its own right. Bill has asserted nothing but ad hominem attacks. @CRTV1982 dude all I said was that the reasons for the Iraq war were bullshit then I asked you your opinion. Bill is entitled to his opinion but he's usually wrong. And nowadays he's the voice of reason on Fox, which goes to show how far things have fallen on the right.
brodiman19 1 year ago
@brodiman19 Okay. I do not consider Bill O'Reilly to be far right. I don't always consider him right. As for my opinion on the Iraq War it is hard to explain in a comment however, it is backed up by first hand experience in Iraq, twice. I generally do not share this opinion over the internet and will most likely wait until our troops are home to share it. What I get tired of is all of the Arm Chair Generals and the Short-Bus Diplomats that seem to occupy the current news media and internet.
CRTV1982 1 year ago
@CRTV1982 Because I lack personal experience in the matter I'd like to hear your opinion on Iraq. But I have read a lot. A lot of opinions, a lot of facts. And the facts say that this foray of ours will eventually cost us somewhere in the 2-3 trillion dollar range. The facts say that tens of thousands have been wounded on our side, thousands more killed, hundreds of thousands have been killed or wounded on the Iraqi side and a million more are refugees. So what do you think?
brodiman19 1 year ago
@brodiman19 I will say that there are successes and mistakes in the conflict. There is alot of things people (including me) do not know about it and most likely will never know. However, I doubt you will understand what or why I believe exactly.
CRTV1982 1 year ago
@CRTV1982 Try me, please. A lot of people say it was worth it in the long run and I understand it and maybe I'll even agree with them one day. Others say it could have been worth it if it was only done differently and I agree with that. What do you think?
brodiman19 1 year ago
@brodiman19 There were alot of mistakes made in the beginning and there still are mistakes being made however, things are not as violent there now as they were from 2004-2007. As for future benefits, time will tell on that one but I doubt that the US would have any real benefit in our involvment their. I would have to say that the only ones which would have any real benefit are the Iraqis pending on how they handle their own situation.

What do y'all think and how is this different today

ct you the far left would make you a communist to which these anti war people seem to tick alot of the boxes, considering they clearly dont allow freedom of speech by shouting down people, further correct me if im wrong but isnt it justice to place a mass murdering dictator i.e Saddam on trial after first toppling his brutal regime which killed many innocent hundreds of thousand of people last time i looked genocide was a crime against humanity to which Saddam did commit and George Bush did not
NatNZ07 2 years ago
Which is why you need to look again. Saddam Hussein was brought to power with the help of the US government. They supported his party which brutally overthrew the gov't pre Saddam Hussein. In fact they supported him and his atrocities until he invaded Kuwait in 1990. Then they declared him an enemy and only then did they start preaching about how he is a villain. Maybe Bush himself hasn't committed genocide, but throughout history the US government has backed up governments which do so.
oli90 2 years ago
The US supported a coup to overthrow what had become a threat to the stability in the middle east & not to mention a govt which itself had staged a bloody revolution overthrowing a monarchy and a govt which had begun to commit shocking crimes thus the US backed a bid that could have brought freedom and stability, im sure if the CIA knew what madness under Saddam would follow the US might have acted differently but we dont all have crystal balls, the US tries to spread freedom and democracy
NatNZ07 2 years ago
Oh god stop with the garbage. They knew damn well what kind of a man Saddam was and what Saddam's party stood for. The same thing they always have; tyrannical dictatorship. Only difference was that Saddam was willing to let US corporation get a nice piece of the pie in Iraq. Right after the coup I think it was 3 major US corps set up shop in the region.
oli90 2 years ago
Not to mention that Saddam's party took control in the 60s, yet the US supported them right up until 1990. The same year that Saddam attacked Kuwait, which was a haven for US corporations. In fact as soon as he attacked Kuwait the US declared him an enemy, but for almost 30 years they were okay with the atrocities he was committing, and supported him with his war against Iran. I mean seriously US foreign policy is filthy, there's nothing good about it.
oli90 2 years ago
Even President Lynden Johnson is quoted saying about Saddam (without paraphrasing of any kind) "I don't care if he's a bastard, as long as he's our bastard." That's the type of attitude the US government has for Iraq. There's no way a well informed person who believes in fact and proof can argue your point of view on this.
oli90 2 years ago
its one thing to assist in toppling a govt & another to outright invade a nation without a just cause, the US may in fact have been aware of Saddam's brutality later on but had to accept him until a just reason came about that happened to be Kuwait & even after that Saddam was given a second chance, but today Iraq is one step closer to a free future thanks to US help & so what if US companies want to set up shop, big companies in poor regions bring wealth & opportunity thats better than poverty
NatNZ07 2 years ago
Second chance??? you give a brutal dictator who's been slaughtering for decades a second chance??
oli90 2 years ago
Also your completely wrong. Learn something about economics if you wanna talk economics. Large companies in underdeveloped areas only make things worse. Think about it, those natural resources are being put to use by a US company, so that means that its fueling the US economy while Iraq is just sitting there losing resources which could be used to fuel their own economy. If you want to respond think a little bit before you write something.
oli90 2 years ago
i admit you are right in some regard, perhaps Saddam should hav been removed the first time for his brutal crimes, but narrow mindedly the US believed he might change that didn't happen, further in relation to economics even US companies hav to pay their workers & even some companies train and educate their employees in useful subjects especially in the petroleum industry, further the fact these workers get paid & spend that money in their local economy helps growth for the region affected.
NatNZ07 2 years ago
Okay so your just assuming that the good intentioned U.S. believed within a span of 30 years a man who's been slaughtering his own people will change? No they knew from the start he was a bastard President Johnson even said so. And then just at the time he attacks Kuwait they realize he won't change? Honestly that's just naive. And the amount of money the people of an underdeveloped country like Iraq can spend, cannot in any major way stimulate a country's economy.
oli90 2 years ago
If you just read some basic economic principles and took the time to understand them you'd know that notion is just ridiculous. Either way that doesn't give the US the right to tap into Iraqi resources and use it for themselves. The only losers in the situation are the poor people of Iraq while the only winners are filthy rich American's who really don't need any more money.
oli90 2 years ago
well clearly we disagree thats both our rights but its clearly a waste of time me trying to convince you the US stand for freedom and opportunity for all & its a waste of your time trying to convince me other wise i've seen how big corporations can help the poverty stricken and actually do good, lets end it here we've just got two great difference of opinion and no middle ground.
NatNZ07 2 years ago
The thing is you haven't seen big companies doing that type of thing. Maybe you heard it on mainstream media but you don't understand the concepts. It's outlined in many books read up on it. And I'm just supporting facts.

Hm.

These idiots dont understand that we cant just pull out of Iraq like that. That would be the worst thing we could do.

I'm afraid Mr. O'Reilly is correct on this one. Those people interviewed sound like a bunch of fools.

rne1223 is right but thats a bit extreme i belive that ONLY the United States , Russia, China shoudl have nukes. why? because none of those countrys have extremist leaders, and Korea is well going beyond everything and testing nukes and long range missiles is just asking for another cold war
alternatly NO middle easter county, that includes Israel, why? because they are all govornments highly influenced by religion and thats just unstable

I saw two videos and now I hate O'reilly!! Is he out of his mind!? He calls a guest a loon and on the other hand make "fun" of people who can't contradict as good as he does...

I think that nobody should have Nuclear Weapons. NOBODY...no USA, Korea, or any other country.
rne1223 2 years ago
I think everyone SHOULD. That way, countries would be too scared to use them when taking into account that others have them.

The US had a right to remove Saddam for failing to comply with the ceasefire. He had WMD and said that he didn't. He also stated he was waiting for the UN inspectors to leave so he could restart his nuclear program. His son also put a bounty on US soldiers....isn't that enough to get him out?
TheAndrew668 2 years ago

Think about it!
rich4444hrsm 2 years ago
Get your facts straght buddy. The US dind'nt invented nukes. It was the Germans who first had the idea and the technology to Manufacture them.
think about it!
ridgetownpimp 2 years ago
(your rebuttal needed to focus on the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 with Atomic exclusions to Patents ;) )
rich4444hrsm 2 years ago
I'm glad you did some research before you started spouting off more bullshit, but I was telling you that your government DID NOT invent nukes. I wasn't debating who holds the patents on them.

Ahh I see, so the Germans "invented" it?
"Invent" ~ to originate or create as a product of one's own ingenuity, experimentation, or contrivance
I'm SO sorry... I didn't realize you're English is so bad.... The sentence you used : "The US dind'nt invented nukes" should have given that away.
The word you're looking for is IMAGINE. The Germans IMAGINED nukes. Just curious, what is your native language? Liber-ish?
rich4444hrsm 2 years ago
I am not apart of this at all...but I fully and completely agree with rich4444hrsm. That is because he/she is RIGHT...and ridgetownpimp is WRONG!

Why would it be Liberish?
DaftStrings 2 years ago
Liberish - hehe ... LIBER-al + engl-ISH = "Liberish" ... sort of funny it sound like Giberish.... just happenstance :)
rich4444hrsm 2 years ago
No no. I get that. I just don't get why someone who inteperets the definition of "invented" different in favor of Nazi Germany scientists means that they're a Liberal. I mean, they never suceeded but they were the first to start on it and got pretty far.
