  • ya but in real world people meet like hey sexy how you doin?

  • 1) Hi guys, I'm from Russia and i wanna share with my opinion. My english is still bad as fuck (i know you don't give a shit about what i'm saying) but i'll try to explain.

After translating a lot of sitcoms like "i love lucy" and other series where pepole talk too much i started to hate english because it's freaking primitive, dead and so on.

  • @MrBratkenSolov

Произношение слов портит всю картину, когда к примеру ты пытаешься читать книгу, а в уме про себя проговаривать слова не выходит, из-за того, что не знаешь произношения этого слова или тебе трудно произнести - это слово. Как я завидую тем, у кого английский - это родной язык, так как все стремятся учить именно его, а после русского - это невыносимо, так что у меня и любовь и ненависть переплелись воедино.

  • What different about "Pleased to meet you" with "nice to meet you"?? please tell me about this, thanks

  • @aripjap "pleased to meet you" means that you are happy to meet someone. "Nice to meet you" is very similar, it means that it is a good thing that you are meeting someone.

  • I hate name Natasha.

  • English....learn it and use it, or GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY!!!

  • @greatvaluepoop agreed

English is a "characteristic of England" .. and all foreign nations should use their own native language. Sure have English as a SECOND language... but keep your native language as the first.

  • nice very nice

  • Bury My Heart is "a life-altering approach to turning managers into unconditionally committed leaders." Check out slapcompany.

  • Actually, when someone asks "how are you?" it is NOT correct grammatically to say "good." You should say you are doing "well." Good is used in an informal manner by those who are less educated about the proper usage.

  • Basque was spoken in all of Europe as a common language, because almost all the population of Europe had migrated from the Sahara when the formerly productive land became a desert .New cults from Anatolia, all of them promoted male domination. Priests were sent all over Europe with orders to destroy the ancient religion of the Goddess, create nations, and invent new languages for each new nation.Every language had to be based on the basque language because there was no other from which to work

  • this is Indian accent, right?

  • So this is where all those Indian telemarketers learn English

  • @ 1:06 - Hi, Ramesh uncle is incorrect. The grammatically correct statement would be "Hi uncle Ramesh"

  • stupid accent

  • When asked 'how are you', it is incorrect to say 'good'.

One may feel good but no one is good or bad.

Behaviours are good and bad not people.

People may do good or bad things but a person is neither good nor bad.

  • @achicknamedMO Good is a casual way of answering the question, How are you? If you watch the video, its the informal way of answering " how are you?" rather I can say a more friendly way ..................

  • @learnexmumbai Casual or friendly way of answering? You are teaching people

how to speak English, aren't you? Shouldn't you be teaching them correct words

and answers to questions. A better answer and correct answer would be 'I am fine, thank you.'

By the way, I am a teacher and I also tutor ESL students.

  • @learnexmumbai - don't mind him, achicknamedMO just wants to feel dominant and high and mighty. Lol.

  • @learnexmumbai Nevertheless, "fine" is always a better response than "good". It is both correct and fit for informal circumstances.rtheless,

  • @Akkleptos ...or even "I am well"...

  • @achicknamedMO

I must disagree with you on this point for at least two reasons...

    (1) In greetings, people are not asking about each other's moral character, rather they are asking about each other's well-being.

    (2) The definitions of good and bad certainly allow them to be used to identify people as morally good or morally bad (whether or not you personally choose to do so).

  • @achicknamedMO It's not incorrect, it's just informal.

  • @achicknamedMO That's what my pedantic English grandfather would have said. So tell me, does one ask "Does every student have his or her book?" or does one ask, "Does every student have their book?"

To further make the point, does one ask a lone listener, "How art thou?" or "How are you?" The point is of course that language undergoes a constant process of change and so long as the process isn't so fast that communication is impaired then the changes are inevitable.

  • @achicknamedMO It's fine to say "Good" when someone asks "How are you" Maybe it's not "proper" I don't know I never read an English grammar book, but we say it all the time. :)

  • I think SpeakToday spoken English tutorials are best on YouTube... it has tutorials with hindi and tamil regional languages etc.

  • haaaaaaaaa good bit of funny but not too bad

  • 0:52 Informal should be "What up dawg?" "Nuttn much dawg, just keeping my sh*t" "Yeeeeeah"

  • Splitting it up into text book formal and informal isn't making things easier. Just listen to a lot of different scenarios until you can group them yourself. Okay a little text book work but most should be spent in practice with the communities language you're learning.

  • You are special and great, thanks for teaching us!!!!!!!!

  • Hi Rachna ? How you doing? How do I say in proper English that I missing somebody, and because of that I feel very nostalgic.

  • @mashaikh100

Hey, Mashaikh. Good job using a word like nostalgic in a sentence. I'm not sure I understand your question, though. You miss someone and because of that you're thinking fondly about the past? I would just say "I miss you. We had some good times together." Does that sound like what you want to say?

In informal English you don't say, "Hi Ramesh uncle" but "Hi uncle Ramesh"

  • @RedcoatT Actually, that's how Indian people say it, even those of us who grew up in the States, it's just the way we order the words in those specific relationships. It's a literal translation of the way it would be said in many Indian langauges.

  • This has nothing to do with British accent. I can't believe someone is teaching English not using native speakers.

  • @humanNumer1

    Hi there,

No its not about British accent. This module is basically designed for leaners in India/south asia to learn english.

Also just like to add that english is a beautiful, universal language and to teach someone a language its important to understand his comfort level .

Its much easier to teach with such neutral accent than with a heavy british/american/australian or any other accent.

this is a very good module, great job guys........

  • @humanNumer1 English was introduced to India in the 18th century. It is taught and spoken in schools from roughly the beginning of a kids education. Though it may not have originated there, It is for all purposes a native language in India.

  • hi.... this ansar... i like ur lesson. could u plesase explain.. wat is the diffrent bitween behind and byond... plz

  • Hi Ansar

We are glad that you have liked our videos,

    The difference between behind and beyound ;

Behind means something which is at your back

Beyound means something which starts from, for example : The success is beyond his reach.

  • @learnexmumbai Hey watch complete new series of Video Vocabulary : - click here

  • @learnexmumbai 'beyond' not beyound

  • that is great . alearning tool could u please tell me how cam i download this lesson

  • @rasnalogin

Hey, Ansar. Good question. First of all, it's "What is the difference between 'behind' and 'beyond'?" "Behind" means you're on the other side of something and you're close to it.

"Beyond" means "Farther away" Where "Behind" means you're on the other side of something but close, "Beyond" means you're on the other side of something and far away from it. If I see a car 100 meters away and car house 500 meters farther away, then I would say the second car is beyond the first.

  • @rasnalogin

  • @MinnesotaEnglish : Hi there, Just a query, the car you discussed are coming towards you.. what about if they are moving away from you and A is 100m and B is 500? Which on is behind?

  • @shirvaj

Good question. I understand your confusion. It depends partly one whether you're facing toward the cars or away from them. If you're facing toward the cars, then from where you're standing, car B is BEYOND car A because it's farther away from you than car A. Neither of them is behind you (actually, they're both in front of you since you're facing them), but car A is behind car B since both of them are going the same direction. Even from where you're standing, car A is behind car B

  • @rasnalogin Behind - meaning "in the back (of something)" (ex.: The TV is behind me). Beyond - meaning "more than", "far away", "after" (Beyond the horizon, the sun sat down).

Do you know when to use "then" and when "than"?

  • @rasnalogin what do you speak orginally

  • Try to take the echo out of your recordings.
