  • XD Aw, poor robot.

  • fantastic work, I'm a computer animator myself and my work barely compares

  • Supremely inspiriational! You re extremely talented but that goes without saying :X There should be more comments it's a shame hahahah so many views I guess means a lot of lazeh viewers Anyway I hope that you keep animating I like the playfulness I really love how you were speaking about shamanism it made me go squish in my heart (as a song writer) I totally agree with you! :D Good job :X Keep it up :)
  • Thank you!

And thank you, that you get what I meant with the shamanism! :)

Don't worry, I'll keep on animating... every day. ;)

    ... and... : x

  • Great! Really inspirational!

    Action feels very great!

ps: Animation (no MoCap) lol ;)

  • Jep! No Mocap. ;)

I had to point this out, because of the frequent questions.

    Thanks for the props everyone!

  • Well the kind of questions might taken as a compliment ;)

But it would really hard to MoCap SUCH motion...))

By the way I plan to try and enroll in B-W FIlmakademie as an animator nex year. Is it hard to get accepted there? (Plus I'm a foreigner...)

And one more question... sorry for being curious, but how is you carier now - after the graduation? (it's been 3 years already as well as I can see)

  • wow!this is realy something!

    very nice!congratulations!

  • i watch it over and over again :)

  • WoW .. nICE :)

  • To all: Thank you for those great crits!

  • AWSEOME!!! what dose C.I.D stand for?

  • Thanks man! Actually, you're the first one asking! C.I.D. is the short for Circle In the Dust. This is a metaphor for storytelling by Ed Hooks: Story telling is shamanism. If the shamans in the old times drew a circle in the dust and gathered the whole village to tell them how to survive the winter, they should be able to show them more, than a beautyful drawn circle in the dust. C.I.D. is just meant to be a well drawn circle in the dust with just a little message. You get what I mean?

  • Very wonderfully made, hopefully I will top you! Life is a competition!

  • Well, we'll see that. ;) You're right, a little competition is never bad... especially if you're headed for more. ;) So, bring it on! :)

    Sebastian

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • Very nice, very creative, I love the composition of it, 5 stars!

    Keep up the good work

  • what rig did you use on this?? was this biped?cat? or sumthing else?

  • This is simply a biped. Nothing special. A biped with linked bodyparts and just 3-4 skinned areas. You can see the making of soon on cgtalk!

  • very nice movement i like the end story

    thanks for share

  • Thank you guys!

I'm just happy that you like it!

  • SOLIDE!!!

  • Awesome...simply awesome! 5 stars!

  • really nice movement and life to the character! thanks for sharing!

  • Sehr schön animiert! Auch vom Shading her finde ich es sehr schön!

  • Dankeschön! :) Aber die Blumen fürs shading gehen an den Tobias Meier für den Cyc und an den Alexander Kiesl für das Setting.

  • amazing animation skills. I'm not sure on the modelling though, he seems a bit out of proportion in some of the close-ups, but maybe thats just me.

Animation was superb though. Reminds me a lot of the french thief in Oceans Twelve.

  • Well, he IS by intention out of proportion. So, that's us all. :) I gave him gigantic hands and feet, to emphasize what his existance is about: action, not acting. He doesn't think, combine or speak... so, there was no need for a big head. ;)

Same is for the length of the arms. Othervise his visor could have gotten in the way.

Thank you all for your great feedback!

    Sebastian

  • Great animation skillz.

  • loved the last part ^_^ great job

  • Nice. Work. And thanks for using YT to present. It's so easy to see.

  • i love it !

    nice work man

  • thats my kinda style...love it

  • Thanks for the critics guys! Me 'appy seein' you lovin' it. :)

  • dude you have no idea how much i LOVE this...i actually dreamt about it...this is EXACTLY the style i wanted to do for my reel...you should be proud of yourself, you get a job with it yet??

  • Well, I've got a good job in a good company yet. There was no need to apply anywhere else. But I'm sure it becomes handy later on.

You haven't even seen a third of what I once planned to do. You'll find a small description in my thread on cgtalk.

Thanks again! I'm honoured... and a little bit proud, yes. :)

  • Amazing :D

    5 stars ;)

  • Holy Cow!!! You did a great job on this!! Well done.

  • Everytime i see work like this, it brings sadness in my heart.........because i can't do it(yet).

    Great job man

  • I can just get the german version... and since this film is based on a comedy-sketch and therefore totally dialogue-driven, you woun't like it if you don't understand it. Anyway, in case you want to risk it, type KERNSEIF in the youtube-search and you should find it. :) Have fun

  • @Gurnislv

What do you think why I did it? ;) That's why it was more important for me to do this (for me) extremly fun-animation, instead of a complex story with depth and conflict, with more acting than action. I did an acting-animation before and at the end of the project I was sick of the limitations the character gave me. No need to ask, it was a turtle. ;)

    Wanna see it?

    Greets Seb

  • Fantastic animation! Very fluid body movements.

  • Also followed the CG link. Excellent work Seb.

  • WOW! Thanks a lot GeoffCoope! What an honor. You get a bright smile from me :))

  • Just seen the link on CGtalk - 5 stars from me. Fantastic character animation there. *thumbs up*

  • great work...suberB camera motion..amzing matching with the music

  • Thats just WOW! I always wanted to mede something like this :)

  • Thanks a lot! *bowing* It was some piece of work to get there, believe me.

  • Hand-animated? Wow you are pretty good! I can feel the gravity of its body. Excellent!
