Howard Ryshpan voiced Mendoza in MCOG and appeared in the 1975 Oscar nominated movie "Lies My Father Told Me" . But to almost all of us, his best role will be from MCOG instead.

I really think the creators of this cartoon were inspired by the Alien movie, remember it came out in 1979 & this cartoon came shortly after? The opening shot of the first episode of Ulysses 31 really reminds me of the opening shot of Alien. Now watch 7:30 on this clip, its cocoon is just like the awakening scene from the hypersleep chambers in Alien - cool paralels across different spectrums  - check it out, let me know what you think

For Heratos it is a choice of 'Service to Self' to restore his eyesight or 'Service to Other Selves' to help his fellow man.

This bit haunted my Nightmares as a Kid where the Gods Visit Heratos at the begining.

Makes me cry watching it. ^^

and i cry again when he sent Ulysees and the children to the Graveyard of the Wrecks and Hulks. wonderful episode.
