I was surprised with how much this game lagged on my sweet rig. And the game only uses 2D sprites similar to the shogun total war. I would think the game would run smoothly considering the retro graphics.
@Demulon We understand that it can lag on the larger battles. We just decided that we wanted to throw a ton of guys on the battlefield and then give people enough options that they could get it to run. Since computers change so quickly, it seemed the best move.
@monsterfurby Our Webhost had issues with the file system on the server that we use. They had to take it down to run a full file system check. Then they ended up losing the last 4 days of data. Not good, but at least we're back up. Thanks for asking.

It's 2010 and this is the best there is out there in terms of realistic Civil War computer games? You would think by now it would be like watching a movie that you could control. I could get something like this in 1999 by zooming in to full zoom in Sid Meier's Gettysburg....

I think that's just something the artist put on the image. If we did actually submit it for a rating, it would most likely be T because of the tons of bloody sprites on the ground after a battle.
We are not set on a price yet. We have polled the team, but a decision has not been reached. We have two camps right now. Once camp thinks that since this is a small indie game it should be priced with the top tier games as many wargames in the past used to do. The other camp thinks we should keep the price competitive so we'll sell more copies. Life would be easier if everyone agreed :)
I wish that I had a different answer for you, but what you see is what we have. We do have plans to rewrite the unit code to support prettier units. It probably won't be until an expansion pack though.

I feel the same way. I've been working on this thing since 2006 and I'm ready to be done! But we're not going to release anything until we feel it's ready. We think we can do that before the end of the year. I really want to get this done too, but we can't release a poor product.
I don't mean to sound impatient,"I am" But I will be glad when you have a release date set on this, I know in the website it says the 2nd half of this year, But damn this is killing me with this suspense...lol
