I was at this show! The opening guy's name was Larry Yes. Some idiot threw ice at him during his set, and when Elliott came out he said, "who's the guy who threw ice at Larry? The guy is just trying to play you some songs." It was really sweet, and Elliott was on top of his game at this point in his career.
Thats one of the reasons that he was such a great musician he would put just how he fel in the moment in his work. this is art at one of its purest forms.. Elliot rocks
Actaully when you sing you shouldn't inhale to get wind in your pipes. You are suppose to breath into your abdominal area and your power comes from the diaphram.
But I like his voice none the less. it puts a touch to his songs. he is fantastic.

No you're not. You use your diaphram to provide you power. You're not supose to gasp for air. That's how you know someone is a skilled ortrained singer, when you can't hear that air gasping, that means they know how to control their breathing which is REALLY i mportant when you sing.
Yeah. The thing is, hardly any really good artist has been trained to sing. So, they don't sing "correctly." But, doing something naturally, without being shown how to specifically do it, is more interesting because it allows for so much more originality in all aspects of how someone's voice sounds. Basically it makes the vocal interesting rather than making it constantly smooth and boring. Hence the reason people can sing along to pop songs; they're so by the book, anyone can imitate them.
wonderful, what songs would made if he still live?
miss u

It seems like when Elliott did big venues, he sang worse. Also, after 2000, his voice went to shit live.

@the0man0in0the0mask its cause after 2000 he stopped taking care of himself and was always drunk and strung out on heroin

He sang how he sang - it's no more complicated than that, and his voice was such a unique instrument in its self - you can't critique it.
This is the single greatest artist of our generation. How I miss his genius.

Anyone can critique anything. I appreciate your adoration. I like this song & singer. However your adoration is just as valid as any critique.

he's so nervous here, gasping for air all the time
fahrigonzo 3 years ago
a good singer which elliott was, will inhale air to get as much wind in their pipes as possible before singing each lyric.

you are supposed to breath into your lungs...
you need to use your diaphragm, but breathing into your abdomen is a bad plan.

If you like TRT, you'll love The Darjeeling Limited, and I heard that The Life Aquatic is good too (basically anything by Wes Anderson)
