  • Anyone else think of the MST3K Sattelite of Love when first seeing those small space probes flying around in the first part of this pilot?

  • Well I for one like it. I mean I have read reviews where people hated it. I can understand that, but I think those that hate it are missing the point. Anyone can recreate the original. Just cast new actors and do what went before. Not really all that creative when you think about it. This at least has new elements. Pity it didn't make it. Narrow minded people will kill anything. The trick to enjoying this is to not think and compare it to the original...Ghost!

  • wait a sec Don West is a kid? WTF???

  • Obviously for the second time in 10 years they totally missed the appeal of Lost in Space. Yeah ok families are dysfunctional, the movie tried it, big bomb. But hey lets do it again! Enough dysfunctional in our own lives do we need to see it on the screen? Not only that but they chucked Smith completely and the robot was pretty much non existent. How the %&* is this Lost in Space? Lets totally chuck the hardware all the fans fell in love with too, hey it didn't work for the movie but...

  • the movie at least had a couple of entertaining moments. more or less

  • @deadman00 agreed, the movie was at least a little more faithful to the show

  • well the movie wasnt prefect. i admit that. but there were elments i liked and i caan watch it again and again. as well as watching the orignal show. i liked Gary oldman's more sardonic Smith.

  • let's see , judy's a blond horny sterio type , don is to young , and these writers think the disfunctional family is the norm !!!

  • It would be great to see a remake of Lost in Space ... but it is easy to see why the networks rejected this.

Perhaps it would be worth another shot with more interesting characters and a better script.

  • Interesting - the nmusic used at the top of part 2 is from the remake of battlestar galactica. is this Canadian? that would explain that unexpolained dullness to it.

  • Was wondering how was the complete movie shown on here it was very good liked it a bit more then the one they re done later wish they would release it on dvd be nice to have the orginal first episode and this unsold pilot and the movie that was released on video and maybe throw in the un aired cartoon put on a dvd four pack titled the best of Lost In Space any ideas on how one can get this started and maybe it could come about just a idea let me know what other fans of the show think of my idea.

  • So Judy is a little slut, huh? And all I can look at is that dot between her eyes.

And can someone tell me why on Television children act like adults toward adults, and fathers have little or no connection with their own young sons, as if they're total strangers?

  • Christ didn't they learn anything from Star Trek the movie... no dull uniforms (costumes) I was bored LOOKING at them.

  • I would love to see a remake of this, but you can't muck with why people loved that show!Do a modern remake but keep what we loved about Lost In Space in it!

  • Now we know what killed the project. The pacing of this story is horrendous. I.....don't.......think..... it......could..... have ...... gone.....any...slow..errrrrrrrr

  • I,ve just watched all 3 series of the original. still great!

  • Nice BSG music they slipped in there.

  • suposidly bits of this Jupiter 2 was reworked onto the Pegasis

  • wow judy is an airhead blonde

  • I would have wanted to watch this.

  • god you are joking i would have love to have watched this ...maybe it would have stopped me throwing my telly out back then :(

  • i would have hired the whole cast of Malcom in the middle for this series! and James Callis as Dr Smith ;)

  • I see why no one bought this...just still to the campy, cheesy orginal....at least it fun to watch!

  • What's with the fencing outfits? Is there space fencing in 2097?

  • This is what a John Woo film looks like without action - a giant fucking YAWN!!!!

  • BSG music.

  • God I HATE Will in this.

  • Pass the No dozz,I'm falling a asleep.

  • no wonder it wasnt picked up

  • thank god this never made it on the air

  • I liked the music at the beginning of this clip. 'And they have a plan.'

  • Nice use of BSG music in the opening.....where the Frak are the Cylons!?!?!?!!

  • The kid that plays Will is awful.

  • @UncleDeluxe Bill Mumy, the original and the best.

  • Why is the song from Battlestar Galactica in the beginning of this?

  • Teen girl angst and sci-fi don't mix! Need more proof? Look at Zoe in Caprica! The fans don't want to see 90210 or One Tree Hill on a spaceship!

  • I was gonna ask who did the music since it's not on the IMDB site, but it looks like everyone agrees that was one of the main BSG themes at the beginning of the clip.

  • BSG borrowed more than the sets...They borrowed the music as well. I recognize that piece of music anywhere

  • Am I watching Battlestar Galactica or Lost in Space? Once again, WHAT THE FUCK? Yeah, there are BSG sets all over the place here. When this pilot was not picked up, Moore, Eick and the BSG crew took the sets and used them.

  • Am I watching Battlestar Galactica or Lost in Space? Once again, WHAT THE FUCK?

  • BSG music, hehehe, that's awsome. They also used some clips from this tv movie, for some of the History Channel Documentares on aliens and ufo's.

  • Uh ... what's with the 2 older kids being complete jerk-wads? So far, I'm not surprised this wasn't picked up.

  • Love the battlestar music in the beginning of this clip! lol!

  • Colonel Robinson has a lot in common with my dad. Giving a baseball glove to a kid that has absolutely no interest in sports.

  • Yes...it's got to be the BSG music.

  • Thanks for uploading...but this is awful.

  • Anyone notice the BSG music at the beginning? It is very close. There must be some production link to BSG. As I recall, the Pegasus' bridge used Lost in Space (either the movie sequel that didn't happen or this pilot) left over props.

  • thx for posting--after listening to tony curtis about critics and how they critisize everything-i wont pass comment-as its an a expression of art and envisaged on vid/film by the creative people behind the camera /scene-the john robinson character is a ringer for guy williams-his walk and mannerism--but thats all the resemblance .-it wouldve been better if it was called some other space adventure-then it wouldve been sold-i wont say anything except--it looks good, perhaps next time--good try-thx

  • Hey! What happened to Lost in Space? It switched to Star Trek somehow, up until 2:06.

  • The mothership it´s like a space version of the SeaView, that is pretty good!

Thank you TooleMan87 for this present for everybody.

    The mothership have a name?

  • An insult to all those involved in the original classic series, thank goodness it never got picked up as anyone new to Lost in space probably wouldn't check out the originals due to this pile of crap..!

  • Any idea when or if, this will be aired ?

  • WTF? Why is it with every remake of Lost in Space, I.E. the 70 cartoon, the movie, and this crappy television remake, do the makers insist on changing the Jupiter 2? The one thing that more interesting that this television remake is watching paint dry. Don West lookks like he still going through puberty. Judy seems like a spoiled selfish brat.

  • @leoj227 Yes, this was boring crap. It seems to be nothing more than another soap opera with all of the usual boring, contrived "conflicts", usually involving someone who is misunderstood or whose "neeeeeeeeeeedddddssss" are ignored. the only difference is that that whole hackneyed cliched story line now takes place in space, which is supposed to make it all more meaningful somehow. This show never aired for a good reason-it sucked ass.

  • This is as bad as the movie. No wonder this thing never got picked up...zzzzzz

  • Recharge the style as a cross between Eureka and Battlestar Galactica and take it to SyFy.

  • The premise is good but the production isn't living up to its potential because it was, as I understand it, aimed at The WB. Lessen the teen angst and make it more like a cross between Eureka and the James Edward Almos Battlestar Galactica and take it to SyFy. They could use it!

  • @josephpalermo Nah, this looks like it was made for the "lifetime" network.

  • lack of wholesome values greatly reduces the replay value - joke if penny is their daughter, judy is a tramp here, she had feminist values in the movie

  • @slack7639 Yes, absolutely, the way they portrayed Judy here is an outright insult to those who are fans of the original show. The people who made this are fundamentally different than the people who made the original show. These people, the writers, producers and actors, are skanky and without any nobility. The real strength of the original was the nobility that shined through. It shined through the characters, especially the father, and the writing NEVER trivialized sex. never even mentioned

  • @Indygoguy

"and the writing NEVER trivialized sex. never even mentioned "

I am pretty sure this had more to do with broadcasting standards at the time than anything the writers wanted to do.

Furthermore, you seem to judge the show as being not noble simply because two of the the characters were sexually active. While this sort of mindset would not be out of step with the moral standards at the time of the original show aired, it seems out step with early 2000s. (At least here in USA)

  • @Strannik01 I see, so Judy slipped out of her quarters without the knowledge and consent of the parents and hooked up with Don, it leads one to believe, without stating it explicitly that something happened. Why else would it be an issue for Don to be stuck in a ship with her father? I do judge it for the behavior of two of it's characters because that is not noble behavior. These standards are constant throughout time no matter what people like you may say.

  • Way off the mark, sorry but this is awful.. Thank goodness it fllopped>>>

  • It is a pity they didn't put more effort into it. The new movie was so good, this is..abit lame and the kids bit lame and having a baby is a new twist..oh and the robot..god, the robot. oh well. I'll watch it for the fun of it anyway.

  • loved the movie and the first series was fab wondering if they would do LIS2 movie

  • It was a nice try to re-launch, but I believe they tried to be too "retro" for their own good. Look at the clothing, It screams "70's" (very space 1999-esque)

  • BSG music

  • is this fan made? cuz that's battlestar galactica music

  • Great idea here.. I LOVED the Lost In Space movie.. and of course the original series.. I hoped that they would make a series after the movie.. I guess they tried huh... I never knew until I saw this.. It may have been a weak attempt BUT.. I would have watched it.. ..I love the Lost in Space story... It comes off as an 80's space series.. .. my so called life INNNN SPAAAACCCEEEE!!!! :(

  • I do not think the producers or director ever watched the actual show the characters are so wrong

  • Did Bear McCreary do the music?

  • This sucked I can see why it didnt sell. Creepy shity casting.

  • I don't like it. No Dr. Smith. Baby Penny??? We don't want to go??? They should have just marketed this as a new show.

  • The visuals are quite nicely done in my opinion- a shame the show wasn't picked up. Perhaps had they pitched this a little closer to the 1998 motion picture Lost in Space..

  • LOL! Those cargo shuttles look very similar to the Eagles from Space: 1999.

  • this is a bigger turd that my dog mad when i took him for a walk this morning

  • TOO much character development. Get on with the adventure.

  • That was creepy to hear the BSG music in the back ground.

  • I always wanted to watch that because I am a huge fan of the original but this is boring as hell.

  • That little girl at 3:15 should have been penny, rather then a baby.

  • what a snooze fest. i didn't feel any conection to any of them. Where is the drama except to worry about Judy's virginity?? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz

  • What is with the idiots that own the rights to LIS to make a successful remake get the fans input!!! #1 Don't F with the robot I know he could use a little updating but come on!! He must have the bubble, claws and tracks no face #2 The Jupiter 2 flying saucer, awesome then ,awesome now!! #3 John Robinson F'n space cowboy!!! #4 do not add any family members Will Robinson only son and boy genius with boy scout like survival skills he was not a nerd

  • Writing: stinks

    Acting: stinks

    Whole concept: stinks

Judy fretting about her virginity on Lost In Space: priceless

  • I agree - hello, this is bunk.

  • 'to be continued'.... thank the gods...it was not!

    --

It feels wrong to see them walk the hallways of Admiral Cain. Its like...they are violating her.

  • well tey got it half right penny got big breast lkie thier mother

    aka june lockhart

  • I like the blonde girl, but that's just me.

Yeah, it reminds me of this old Disney space show that went on and on and on and they never got anywhere.

  • My God! It's full of Galactica Music!

  • We went from the J2 to the Nostromo.

  • Where the hell did David come from?

  • Wow....that sucked!!!!!.......There was only 1 Robinson family...

  • I enjoy anything LIS related. This was good, a bit short but good.

  • I think this time the writers wanted to explore the dynamics between mother and daughter Judy so they made her an (cliche) angst ridden adolescent. Unfortunately they cut their own throats by making Penny a baby. But then that doesn't explain an older Will.

And what's with a David Robinson?

You can't change the main characters like this! It's just NOT Lost In Space!

The actors are also dull and unengaging. Original cast had personality to spare and were great actors in their roles!

  • Needs tweeking, but not bad.... the baby is cute. And David? ... interesting... Judy...likeable.

  • Hurts my ever loving black heart that they did'nt keep the old saucer design. Not that crap from the movie either. On LOS we were not that much advanced in space travel. Plus this J2 is the worse ever. Stick to the basics and one day someone will make a worthy LOS movie.

  • ZZZZZZZZ

..and what's with the BSG music during the opening scene?

  • Why is there BSG music at the beginning?lol

  • Also note that the ship set was used as the Pegasus. Great cross over for a show that wasn't sold.

  • Get them the FUCK INTO SPACE! Even the 60's pilot got them in space and in crises within the first 10 minutes! This is horrible.

  • It has a potential!

  • Im not surprised it didnt sell, its shit.

  • damn lol the theme sounds a like bsg

  • This is an unsold pilot...The music is temporary. If the show had been picked up for series, the music would have been changed.

  • Umm. What happened to Penny and Dr. Smith?

  • Penny is there! You missed her? Watch again.

I split the pilot into five parts to fit YouTube's required maximum length of 10 minutes. You are correct that Dr. Smith has not appeared so far. You will have to watch the rest to find out what happens.

  • LOL...I saw her, she's very tiny. They must have not been sure what to do with her character so they made her a baby.

  • Every one saw her it's just that why change it so much?

  • @paulnkiki Penny got a sex change. Her name is now David.

  • @godlydaddy No, Penny is the baby, David is an extra son.
