I love dogs, I do, but is it just me or is there an increasing number of young couples, such as the ones on this video, buying dogs and treating them like children?. No matter how much we love our dogs, they will never, ever, could be or should be children substitutes. I think it's pathetic, I don't care how cute it looks

@MsTxibi You are completely right. It should be illegal for young couples to buy dogs, love them, and treat them well. Instead, they should immediately begin having children. Couples who are not able to have children for medical reasons or otherwise, should certainly be penalized. What is truly pathetic is that you feel obliged to comment negatively on other people's lives, even though you know absolutely nothing about their circumstances.

@eth9000-I've seen a wide range of PB photos . . . some are leaner, some are more muscular around the chest and neck. I don't think he's tubby, however.

They are skinny and lanky when they are young, when they get to be about 3 or 4 they chunk up and loose their neck. lol I have had a couple and it's normal.

Verdell is adorable! We have a smooth Brussels named Cooper and his mannerisms are so similar to Verdell's! (especially the being naughty and breaking into the food part--check out Cooper on "Brussels Griffon badness")

Wow I didn't even know there were smooth griffons! They really look like pugs but they are super cute in their own way. Yours seams so sweet! He is absolutely adorable, he melted my heart! And the pic at 0:49, and him tipping over his food cracked me up!

I'm sure the smooth coat Brussels Griffon does shed some, just like other short haired dogs. My longer haired Brussels Griffon do shed, I keep their hair shorter so there's less hair around! They sure do act like BIG dogs though! Great personalites!!!

this is a "Petit Brabançon".... a "Brussel Griffon" with short hairs...

I wish someone would tell me whether the smooth coats shed. I have pugs. That's their big problem...shedding. But Verdell looks a lot like a pug...and acts like one, too. Just questioning. I may have to add a griff to my pack.

Oh yes, the smooth coats shed just like pugs. His hair is everywhere. We originally chose Brussels Griffons because the were listed under the "non-shedding" breeds, but then found out that referred only to the rough coats, which truly don't shed at all. I'm so glad we were mislead, though - Verdell is so wonderful that he's worth the trouble of cleaning up every single hair!

I have a female smooth coat, and her hair is also everywhere! I read the same info that Griffons are non-shedding...Not! I dearly love my little ragmuffin. These dogs have the most expressive faces. They are so much more intelligent than we are...at least, that is their attitudes.

Well the smooth coat variety (aka Petit Brabançon) does shed, like all short hair breeds. The rough coated Griffon Bruxellois doesn't, the coat needs to get stripped by hand twice a year.

We hung it by the door when he was little, and we rang it right before opening the door every time we let him out. Eventually he started ringing it when he wanted out. Now he uses his paws to tell us when he wants everything, such as dinner :)
