Mike bowled Great! Too bad i've never heard of him. Does he still bowl now days? I like how the pros all hook their balls down the lane. I've always thrown mine straight and always will. I don't feel comfortable throwing a hook, thinking it's gonna go into the gutter. I say this, whatever you're used to throwing down the lanes, and it doesn't matter, just as long as the pins go down, doesn't matter how you throw it, get 'em down!

Pete is using one of those crappy Pirana balls. He's thumping it over the finger hole and it's giving me the creeps. He needed to go into the mens room for a fatty.. That would have picked up his intensity..
I agree with bcrusher3. Mike Edwards got absolutely bullshitted when he left that pocket 4-9 in '85. He deserved to win that day, and he damn sure deserved to win this one.
I remember this well. I wonder if anyone has the year before when Weber won against Vespi. During that 93' match Weber threw one of the most massive messengers. I will be posting the 96' version.
The pirhana was orange and manufactured by columbia 300. Thanks for the post! I know you've been wanting to see this for the longest and now your wish came true.
Thanks so much for posting this, Wolf. Being a fellow Oklahoman and Creek Indian myself, I never saw Mike Edwards' first and only win on TV. It was great to see him on TV three times last year. We've yet to see him this season. He almost retired last season, before making TV and almost gave it a run at the Sun City Classic.
Thanks again for posting, Wolf. It's good to see an Okie win a PBA tourney. Even if it was almost 14 years ago, lol.
At first i thought this was 2007.I thought good to see Pete Weber again lol.The lanes looked to be super slick then not much hook on them.Cheers wolf.
the only pba national trophy he'll look at in his lifetime

pete slugged his way through all day. I guess he just ran out of gas after four games.

Congrats Mike. This is still his only PBA title to this day.

How come it said $210,000 winner and at the end of the game it says Edwards only won $43k?
Congrats to Edwards for the 1st native american to win a title. As much as PDW is my fav bowler, Edwards definitely deserved this one.

4:11 it says 2nd 22,500 and 1st is 43k

$210,000 is how much the entire purse was.

Pete Weber should of won that match easily. Mike Edwards wasn't doing that well. That day I was roating for PDW to win. That big 4 screwed him up .

As much as I love Pete Weber's game I have to say that by and large Mike Edwards deserved this win!

I had a feeling that it was bowled @ Club 300. I live 5 minutes away from there.

I know! I kinda saw it, too. Plus, the lego man hair.
Good bowling, though.

I don't know why, but Pete Weber throwing a pink bowling ball strikes me as weird.
joelspan 4 years ago
To me, I don't care what color my bowling ball is, as long as I get results. :P
but then again, bowling with a pink ball would be a little weird to me.
Wolfman12395 4 years ago
Wasn't the Pirhana hot orange? not much different than hot pink, but oh well. :)
Awesome upload, by the way. Do you have the Holman-Weber match?
NYDanno85 4 years ago
Yes, I have the whole telecast, I'll probably post more tomorrow.
Wolfman12395 4 years ago
Awesome. I think this was Marshall's last telecast before he won in '96.
Thanks!

Come to think of it... watch the 1993 IOF Foresters Open, which Weber won.
He was using the Champions Ultimate Weapon - a bright-pink, dull urethane ball. :)
