When I was seven I heard a beautiful singing voice coming from the bus station. I went to look. A beggar woman in rags sat beneath the clock. Her voice soared over the roar of the bus engines. At eleven o'clock the clock chimed. The beggar woman stood up and sang louder. She saw me and walked over to me, and was run over by the no. 72 bus arriving from Plymouth. No loss really, as her songs were sentimental crap sung in the style of Elaine Page.
This is lovely and a pleasure to listen to. Susan has such a strong, vibrant, pitch-perfect voice, even while singing a cappella! Too bad we haven't heard this entire song. She is also a beautiful person, inside and out. Wishing her continued happiness and success!

I totally agree with you about perfect technique, but I'm sorry, I can't see emotions here. Her facial expression is the same throughout the whole song (slight smile), her eyes are not expressive at all. Watch a Céline Dion performance, it's not the same level. I like the way Susan used to sing when she was in her 20's, she should get back to it. She was amazing. Now she's a church singer.

I came across it while looking at other things. But really, what do you know? You live in the US. Morgan said to a little girl that she could win the show, and Susan Boyle started shouting swear words in front of everyone while watching it back in the common room, then started doing that dance. Her neighbours don't like her, saying she will not accept not being the centre of attention. She's mentally unstable and shouldn't even be doing this.
Correction, nicck. It was actually Shaheen Jafargholi, not a little girl Piers was saying could win the show when that incident occurred. Plus, that didn't really happen because Susan was in her room at the hotel after Shaheen's performance, not the common room. So, hah!

Susan's singing voice is PITCH PERFECT. She sounds fantastic a capella!! And then she just takes my breath away when there's background music, I really enjoyed it when she sang "Memory" on the semi-final BGT round.
Its quite good considering it is through two cameras on a whim and no music. Very nicely on pitch. There are not very many singers that can perform that well in that situation.

I came across it while looking at other things. But really, what do you know? You live in the US. Morgan said to a little girl that she could win the show, and Susan Boyle started shouting swear words in front of everyone while watching it back in the common room, then started doing that dance. Her neighbours don't like her, saying she will not accept not being the centre of attention. She's mentally unstable and shouldn't even be doing this.

Correction, nicck. It was actually Shaheen Jafargholi, not a little girl Piers was saying could win the show when that incident occurred. Plus, that didn't really happen because Susan was in her room at the hotel after Shaheen's performance, not the common room. So, hah!

i hate how whenever susan boyle sings a song from a musical the world acts like this is a brand new song. that's exactly what they did with "i dreamed a dream" well GUESS WHAT FOLKS?! That song has been being performed since the '80s in an amazing musical called "Les Miserables" and GUESS WHAT. Susan ISN'T THE BEST PERSON TO EVER SING IT. jesus christ, it pisses me off so much.

Susan's singing voice is PITCH PERFECT. She sounds fantastic a capella!! And then she just takes my breath away when there's background music, I really enjoyed it when she sang "Memory" on the semi-final BGT round.

Its quite good considering it is through two cameras on a whim and no music. Very nicely on pitch. There are not very many singers that can perform that well in that situation.

I bet Sarah Brightman wouldn't do much better without expensive recording equipment to help her along. And you say her singing was harsh and hurried? Well gee, what a surprise - she was being interviewed from across the other side of the world for a national US television program, under great pressure to sing beautifully because of all the attention she has received, and all you can do is criticise.

garkl63, being interviewed from abroad is NO EXCUSE for slaughtering a song!!! She should have slowed down & sung it in its proper tempo. Her voice is like a sledge hammer. Not just on this song, but on all songs. Initially she was caught up on a wave of hysteria because people prejudged her based on her looks. So the fact that she has any voice at all carried her along. Her 15 minutes are over. Sarah, on the other hand, is simply amazing. A true talent who sings acapella beautifully!!!

Susan's voice is pretty, but I prefer Sarah's version more, her voice is much more high-pitched. You know, soprano. Susan's voice would also sound very nice with instrumental accompaniment to this.
