  • I was listening to that. ???

  • how come this vid (and many many others) have advertisements on them, do you own the copyright to this? I thought you couldn't put ads on videos with copyrighted material on them?

    anyone? please?

  • Victor Hertz brought me here :) !

  • It's too bad they couldn't play the complete version.

  • Cher does this song too and it's used in an episode of the X-Files. Good rendition of this classic.

  • It was picked for The Walking dead. Great song for it. The 'Walker' Brothers.

  • It was an age of innocence that bore the fruit of life that will liberate the spirit in joyful bliss.

  • Bret Easton Ellis brought me here

  • ah yes---remember it will, as a freshman at Arkansas State in 1966---very good singers who really described the times and emotions of a young genration----shadowed by the war in SE Asia.

  • Good grief Jon's trousers are so tight.

  • I agree, this guy had a great voice!

  • als deze zanger meedeed aan the voice dan zouden ze alle vier na één zin afgedrukt hebben

  • walking dead trailer brought me here ;)

  • Two beautiful men singing an iconic song; LOVE the hand moves!

  • WHAT A VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the walking dead :D

  • I found this by searching an episode of the X-Files this is how I became interested in The Walker Brothers

  • ron kray shot george cornell in the blindbeggar and this song was playin when he walked in to the pub and walked over and shot george between the eyes. over a dozen in the pub and nobody said they seen anything

  • No idiotic movie or tv program is gonna make me visit and relive the songs from the 60s. The songs I grew up. I'm old, just damn old, ok?

  • Wow! That John was a girl's dream come true. Look at those pants. And his harmony vocals were breathtaking. Most people don't know in the studio version, John sang lead from the hook. Scott's voice was too deep to reach the range of the melody in the chorus. So they switched and Scott sang harmony during the chorus.

  • noooooooo

  • zombie haters can suck dick...Walking Dead is FUCKING BEAST!!!! this song does have a good zombie-ish jingle to it! wouldnt u agree?? :)

  • He has a wonderful voice...

  • Alan Rickman brought me here :/

  • Once in a lifetime voice!

  • full playback......still awsome!! love scott!!

  • This was originally sung by Frankie Valli as a solo vehicle for him-strange he and The Walker Bros. were fellow Mercury Labelmates..Strange Bedfellows, indeed!

  • love this song in the fall early in the morning when i drive to school

  • great song, great memories...

  • RIP John.

  • Alan Rickman brought me here... :)

  • Thanks for the upload. I haven't heard the song for decades. It is rarely played on the radio stations.

    .

  • disappointing if you first got into scott's later stuff (the drift, tilt) and moved backwards chronologically. at first i thought this was garbage. in fact, i still think that it is pretty mediocre. however, it is very interesting to see where he came from as an artist.

  • 6 fucking retards disliked this.

  • @tayyhranica it seems that now overall figure rocketed to 10 idiots..

  • I got this from "Truly, Madly, Deeply" with Alan Rickman

  • ive known the words for this record years r i p john

  • I saw a documentary on Scott Walker by accident. I looked up the Walker Brothers, now I am hooked. Perfect pop confection with a dash of wall of sound.

  • These guys didn't need autotune. They were always perfectly in tune.

  • Just a great time for music, and this song and these singers were at the top. Rest in Peace, John.

  • R.I.p. John. How badly do we need these kinds of vocal groups today.

  • wow....i always thought this was the righteous brothers singing this

  • RIP John

  • RIP

  • R.I.P

  • R.I.P.

  • What a souvenir.....

  • Nasa obrada je bolja

  • Saw these guys at the California Ballroom in Dunstable Bedforshire in the 60's, sadly the Ballroom is no more, nore the Pub ,,The Rifleman that was on the corner, fantastic times.

  • just like England...the sun never shines there either!!!!!!LOL nice on boys..

    are these gentlemen still alive?

    magi

  • @margaretjackson6671 Scott Walker's still alive and making music! Look up his solo stuff, if you like this then you'll probably like his first few albums. the later stuff gets a bit more experimental from what I've heard.

  • @CR4GETH thanks for the info..magi

  • Thumbs up if you didn't find this from anywhere but only remembered it because it was an awesome song.

  • Great voice and great song written by Bob Gaudio of The 4 Seasons. Wish Scott Walker / Engell was still singing these songs today i dont think even he realises or appreciates just how good they are . He later went on 2 record some of the strangest songs totally off the wall. Great shame

  • @TheSilkyman wrote: "Great voice and great song written by Bob Gaudio of The 4 Seasons."

I agree. It's such a great melody, a great recording of a great voice, great arrangement and great strings chart. (Gaudio also penned SILENCE IS GOLDEN, which I also love)

Despite quantum leaps (pardon the cliche) in recording technology there was some amazing music back then that will stand the test of time (oops, sawwy again) and the largely anonymous engineers deserve much of the credit.

  • What a voice! This was absolutely huge in Europe and challenged any other white soul performers anywhere. Also remember 'My Ship is Comin' In'.

  • OOOPS. My just-posted comment referred everyone to the wrong channel. The correct channel is fritz51351. The 3:16 clip is the full perfomance. Enjoy.

  • If you want to see and hear a live vocal performance of this song, visit sambda's channel and find the clip that times out at 3:16. You get to experience how truly magnificent Scott's voice was (with only a few off notes). Then join the ranks of the addicted by exploring the next 45 years of his eclectic and visionary career.

  • Thumbs up if you found this by listening to good music instead of watching poorly made shows involving zombies!!!!!

  • @costellofan89 Poorly made show!

  • @costellofan89 so you would rather have thousands of people never hear this song? wow true fan....

  • @costellofan89 LOL, U mad?

  • @costellofan89 Poorly made shows? You clearly don't know shit. The Walking Dead is a masterpiece. Blow some nuts.

  • @KateBushMyLove After the first two episodes it's a masterpiece of boredom IMHO

  • @costellofan89 Poorly made show involving zombies? LOL nothing that involves zombies is poorly made >.>

ZOMBIES FTW!!! Walking dead too >)

  • @costellofan89 Thumbs up if you feel the need to judge other instead of living your own life!

  • @costellofan89 *sigh* Quit sipp'n the haterade.

  • @costellofan89 "poorly made."? Hey I did find this watching a zombie tv *show*. Is there a problem sir.

  • @costellofan89 Fuck you. The Walking Dead is amazing and does this song justice.

  • @costellofan89 Poorly made? you haven't actually seen it have you?

  • What's that in John's trousers?

  • @godfishgod Posing pouch?

  • One of the all time greatest songs ever, in my opinion.

  • "How would you use Toyata technology to make a better world?"

I wouldn't, because the world is inhabited by zombies!

  • i think its funny that the song is by the walker brothers and the zombies in the walking dead are referred to as walkers aswell

  • i finally found this song, it took me forever to find this from the walking dead trailer

  • Yes I first heard this on the Walking Dead, I don't listen to the radio, so this is where I find my music, movie trailers are very good places to start looking for good music.

  • I love this. Great memories and the brother in the striped shirt sure has some slinky, sexy moves. Woooooo.

  • incomplete song... ugh

  • Gosh awful camera angles being shot here. For a minute I thought the camera man must be friends with the drummer.

Great song though, no matter how badly shown.

  • @firstdance2000 Haha I know, the camera is just stuck with the drummer for a while.

  • Rene Laine a new singer

  • Thumbs up if you found this from "The Walking Dead".

  • @Abrading1 Indeed i do and thank to them to put them in it

  • @Abrading1 I knew of it before but I love it's use on the trailer. :D

  • @Abrading1 Thumbs up if you heard this as a child in the 1970's and it became your favorite song! :o)

  • @Abrading1 What is ''The Walking Dead''?

  • Well Walking Dead fans, its almost time! ENJOY! X)

  • Back when songs were songs. Thank god for You tube - I could listen to songs from the 60s all day.

  • This song is timeless! sets the mood for something outstanding & trippy/magical!

  • Great song from my Senior Year of High School 66'

  • This just doesn't decrease in quality no matter how many times you watch it.

  • great stuff, my favourite song, ty

  • I got to say that comparing these two singers tells quite much about them. Look at John, how much he seems to be enjoying, he's dancing and he's "open", while Scott looks like he's going to break down in a second, so delicate and uncomfortable, he's almost hiding his whole face with the microphone.

  • I like the way Rene Laine is singing this song look Rene Laine 60 70´s

  • Stoppin from floppin...German for bra

  • SONG CUTS OFF; NOT FULL LENGTH

  • Ótima música. Faz parte do seriado da AMC , "THE WALKING DEAD".

  • i was in NYC when i first heard this song .every time i hear it i always think of that

  • I used to know John Maus/walker when I lived in London. It was a cucumber ladies ;)

  • @larushka1 oh my! cutandpaste you are dead on...

  • @cutandpaste1 seriously, thanks for the laugh. Of course I had to look. You are being kind about the cucumber - maybe a roll of quarters?

  • @cutandpaste1 lol, how did you fucking notice that?

  • @cutandpaste1 seriously! you made me spit diet coke on my keyboard!

  • Another fantastic blast from the past.

  • Great song!!!

    I like it very much.

  • when you're without Love!!! WAH!!!

  • I love this band. They're sublime. Scott's solo material also keeps me alive. LOVE.

  • lovely song. Fit just for true lovers. May it live on foreever. think you for this one.

  • Well Done think you for this. love the song.

  • For all you music lovers, you HAVE to listen to croatian's cover of this song: It's called ''Dorian Gray - Sjaj u tami''. It was made in the 80's, but it's still a classic, it has a bit different sound, but it's one of the rare covers which are better than original. Enjoy!

  • Anyone who loves Scott and isn't familiar with Gary Puckett should check him out in his prime. "This Girl Is a Woman, Now," Woman, Woman," Young Girl," etc.

Like Scott Walker, Gary had a majestic baritone voice - no bombast, just pure, powerful, timeless quality. He outsold every make artist in the world in 66 or so, I believe...and with good reason.

Where are the great baritone balladeers, nowadays?

  • What a sound!! It`s great and so perfect in details! Thanks for posting!

  • danke for this brill vid .. what gorgeous guys .. loved then from back in the 60s' always will forever . chow .. Lyndloo..

  • Supper memories

  • My all time favorite Walker Brothers song!

  • Beatclub> I was always seeing that programm.

  • Wow, not bad dudes..! For a couple of old toppies, not bad at all!! Wow!! - keep posting on youtube - I am your fan truly..!

  • When this song first came out I always thought it was the Righteous Brothers. This is a great song with great vocals and that wonderful Wall of Sound orchestral music. Peace.

  • a song for elvis to sing now

  • Still adore this song, still adore the guys.....

  • these guys were the tops back in the 60s' love them .. Lyndloo..

  • really beautiful! love it!

  • Scott looks pretty nervous.

  • I'm in my mid 50's too, and this brings back so many memories. Such a classic song - thanks for posting this and bringing back those days for us old folks : )

  • Was but a teenager when this was a hit. Now I am mid 5o's and it still sounds every bit as good now as it did then.

  • A great song.

The Walker Brothers had a unique song.

They prospered for a few years, and then, Gone With the Wind.

    I miss them.

There is no pop music being made today to compare with the Walker Brothers.

  • who i slooking at the mike!

  • clearly lip synching.

Look at the beginning when he starts to sing, he doesn't even hold up the mic.

I'm assuming this is just a music video?

    and also, fantastic f**kin song.

  • First time I heard them (Make It Easy On Yourself), I thought they were trying to parody the Righteous Brothers. I eventually learned otherwise, but Scott does sound sort of like Bill Medley.

  • A 60's Classic :-)

  • walker brothers ,magical , captured from their 60s heyday.

  • I too recommend 30 Century Man, but only if you're serious about it all.

Really an amazing and intruiging film. Made me go out and buy a load of Scott's songs.

  • Great vid! The singer has so much charisma.

  • I actually met the Walker Brothers at Batley Variety Club. It was my birthday and my older brother took me to see them. He knew the club manager and arranged for me to meet them after the show. I went into their dressing room. I can remeber being extremely shy and star struck, but they were really lovely guys. Living just a few miles from the famous Batley Variety Club, I was lucky enough to see many sixties groups perform live, and the Walker Brothes were one of the best.

  • why is it cut off?!? aaaahhh!

  • Scott Walker influenced Radiohead, Bowie, The Smiths, and Pulp?

Thank God, where would the world be without these artistic geniuses?

    Sorry, never heard of 'em.

  • Gary was born in Glendale ,Ca, They met in Hollywood and Gary suggested they go to England as he had just got back from there.

  • Scott Walker is one of popular music's hidden geniuses. Please check out the documentary SCOTT WALKER: 30th CENTURY MAN. He has influenced the likes of Radiohead, Bowie, The Smiths, Pulp and countless other great bands. There is so much more to discover if you like this song!

  • This song was first recorded by Frankie Valli- co written by Bob Crewe/Bob Gaudio of the Four Seasons. Crewe was every bit the producer that Spector was check him out.

The song "Please Phil Spector" (The Attack-sung by Mr.Bass Man" Johnny Cymbal) pleads with Spector to make him a star and says "if you won't help me I'll get Bob Crewe" His nick name was "The Boy Genius"

  • I believe these guys were from Glendale, Ca., but made it big in England. Is that true?

  • Great video!

This was one of the greatest songs of the sixties.

It has an unusual sound, reminiscent of Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound."

That lead singer has a fantastic voice.

Too bad, this group only lasted a few years, then, Gone with the Wind.

  • When this first came out, there were all these comparisons to the Righteous Bros. Wonder whatever happened to these guys! This is such a good song.

  • Despite the fact that I have heard thousands of songs in my almost 60 years of life, this still stands as one of the most memorable. Thanks to whoever posted it.

  • This is PRICELESS!!! Scott Walker possesses a MARVEL of a voice, a real force of Nature!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Babyhowdy233 agreed.

  • simply precious

  • Gut, dass Herr Leckebusch's Meinung niemanden interessierte und die WB und besonders Scott Walker eine Karriere hingelegt hatten....!
