Thank you. I highly recommend galv iron or maybe copper. Not happy with pvc/plastics. My valves are modified now to air triggering so do not need the solenoid or drill battery. Quick exhaust valves are better than sprinkler valves in that they can be got in metal too although sprinklers seem fine. 3/4 Q E Vlave would be ideal, you could even use a metal barrel making it all metal. I got some smaller QEV's ( 1/2) on eBay.
Yes you are obviously concerned like me at pvc etc.
I found shooting a piece of pvc pipe with the cannon causes shards all over the place and there would be no warning. If on a cold day there is greater risk. I think the sprinkler vave work really well but do not like the fact that they are also plasticm a weak place. Like you I got some QEV from the net but think, again like you that the 3/4 is about the best size.
Yes you are obviously concerned about the plastics especially at pressures like 100 psi and I think rightly too for all the reasons you have quoted.
I did that too- shoot a piece of PVC pipe with the same results so it had to be metal. Copper should work as the iron stuff is very strong but very heavy.
I like the conversion of the sprinkler valves to air operation. I got two 1 1/2 " QE valves from the net but wanted 3/4. They proved very old though as the inside seals were shot.
i just made one with a hand valve, and it went crap. but then i tried it with a solanoid and it went over 30 meters, thanks for the info.

that's pretty cool. I plan on making a simple one this weekend.

Good luck with the build. Dennis.

@prefermetal
Pow0006. Great- makes a big difference doesn't it?
The sprinklers are really fast. Piston valves even better.
Have a design for a complete build using all copper with a P valve but Youtube does not seem to upload it.
