  • This punk dodged Sakuraba!

  • I love how everyoen talkes about how many fights this guy has but yet he lost to a Dr.Ron Tripp in a straight up sambo match in under a minute and then complained that he didnt know the rules how can you have 400 fucking wins and not know the rules come on people his record is shit even Helios Gracie talks about it hell look on youtube he clearly states Rickson counts all his bullshit play fights as real wins in that case Helios is 1000000000-0 against his students guess he is best of all time

  • gay

  • @MrBananito5 4 sure boxer boy

  • @nahuelfantino

    4 sure gay lover

  • they teach english at the gracie academy desides BJJ ?

  • @CaBeeful they teach Gjj at Gracie Academy not Bjj.

  • @lelandpruitt99 It's the same thing actually

  • @nahuelfantino i dont think so. Gracie Jiu Jitsu is a self-defense art. BJJ is for sport. they should be the same but they arent because most BJJ instructors dont train you for a larger opponent. according to Rener, that was one of the motivations behind the combatives dvds.

  • @lelandpruitt99 bjj, or gjj it's a self defense art. Sport bjj is a self defense art against larger opponents, Gracie jiujitsu is a self defense art that is a sport also. Helio modified it for weaker people, but i'm sure they teach kimuras and triangles as competitors do.

  • he is a nice guy sure, still is stuck in his own fantasy world

  • the most overrated fighter of all time.

  • @theawakener7 lmaooooooooooooooo

  • @theawakener7 haha lol, i really laughed at this comment

  • how does he do that seriousley? The thing when he move around his stomoch like it was made of rubber?:P

  • Dude has the single largest ego in MMA/Jiu Jitsu history. But was an incredible competitor.

  • HARI KARI!!!

  • He gracefully signed my Saku shirt, this is the only nonfamily man I love!!!!!!

I would be gay for Rickson. Nah, hes always been very graceful

  • 0:58 This is billow. My retard brother we keep him on head leash.

  • @vinlahadin2 lol!!

  • i have to take a shit just watching this video.

  • yogi/jujitsu master

  • The Gracies took a Japanese Martial Art Jiu Jitsu , made some modifications and called it Brazilian Jiu Jutsu. Looking at the yoga exercises that Rickson is doing, it looks like they will claim that they have invented something called Brazilian Yoga

  • some modifications is a total understatement of Bjj... If you take any black belt ordinary jiujitsu guy, he will get nailed and submitted in minutes/secs by even a purple and brown belt Brazilian Jiujitsu - guy. And thats a fact. What does that mean: bjj is the king in any submission -grapling situation (competion).

  • @etphonehome2915 ordinary jj, or japanese jiujitsu doesn't exist, it's called Judo now, and yes... BJJ is superior in many aspects

  • @nahuelfantino and Gjj is superior to that...

  • @lelandpruitt99 yes BJJ= GJJ

  • @nahuelfantino Dead wrong about ordinary Ju Jitsu - it does exist, and it most definately isn't Judo.

  • @SKfromtheUK lol dude i do Japanese its basically a mix between all the jitsu's plus muay thai or karate. it has a lot of ground fighting and throws but still maintains a strong amount of aiki jitsu or stand up jitsu locks. and once in higher levels of belts you learn striking, and the striking is kind of a mix between muay thai and karate. i actually told my shihan about your comment and he laughed and told me to tell you to come down to Stratford martial arts for a class to see what it is.

  • @StrattyBoiz your shihan?who is he?do you see this video?this man has 400 fights and nobody defeated him in grapling.. he choked out so many judo or wresltlers..his legend..live your shihan out of this page..here we talking about legend

  • @SKfromtheUK you're right, i was wrong, it's called kosen judo. My bad.

  • @SKfromtheUK Y I would just invite you to come to the US since we have the best grapplers in the world both American and Brazilian. Then you can show us your ancient mystical techniques while we show you how to take a nap. The fact is man JJJ neglects Newaza techniques even more so than most Judo clubs which leaves a giant whole in your game anyone competent on the mat could easily exploit.

  • @nahuelfantino ol dude i do Japanese its basically a mix between all the jitsu's plus muay thai or karate. it has a lot of ground fighting and throws but still maintains a strong amount of aiki jitsu or stand up jitsu locks. and once in higher levels of belts you learn striking, and the striking is kind of a mix between muay thai and karate. i actually told my shihan about your comment and he laughed and told me to tell you to come down to Stratford martial arts for a class to see what it is.

  • @StrattyBoiz Okay stick to your martial art, i'll stick to mine, i'm sure bjj is better and more effective, you are sure of the opposite. Good luck, at least you practice some martial arts.

  • @nahuelfantino haha ya at least im not one of those guys who just like to criticize another martial and dont even look at it from its perspective or do martial arts period. btw i do brazilian jitsu aswell as japanese, the more the merrier haha. but ya good luck to you to.

  • =/ too bad he didn't look for more success in the full proper sport. Great guy though and amazing potential.

  • Belly dancer.

  • سوبرمان

  • gr8yogi

  • @theawakener7 LOL!

  • Whenever I watch a video of Rickson I get the feeling that he's somewhat introverted or even unsocial. He's always alone. Is there any truth in what I just said?

  • @Svittidiu i dont berlive so hes comeing to my dojo in sydney soon to visit so i dont berlive so but ill let u know what hes like if u want

  • @paul00sydney Yes please.

  • @paul00sydney pedrou sure visited our bjj club. melbourne rules!

  • @Svittidiu 1.45 it Rickson says he meditates...so maybe thats why he's always alone?

  • @Svittidiu i guess most geniuses aren't the life of the party.

  • @shoegazer666 That actually makes sense when you think about it.

  • @Svittidiu ask him lol

  • @Seanuk I don't know him or how to contact him, lol. Faggot.

  • @Svittidiu I wouldn't doubt it. A lot of people with exceptional talent and work ethic tend to be loners. They have trouble relating to other people and vice versa. Doesn't mean the person is a bad guy or anyone else, it's just kind of the nature of the beast.

  • @Svittidiu yeah, but he gets a long with everyone from the family.... My jiu-jitsu teacher Mike Rose used to be on his MMA fight team.. he said that Rickson and Caique are very introverted

  • @Svittidiu it's possible. Introverted people can be very fascinating.

  • @joel230182 That's true. I am a very introverted person myself and it's kind of cool to have someone who's also introverted to look up to, like Rickson for example.

  • @Svittidiu An intelligent, creative mind always needs space from noise and outside distractions.

  • @Svittidiu I do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and heard from a black-belt guy that he is such a person who keeps far distance from other people.

  • @Svittidiu some people like it that way. Myself included

  • @Svittidiu

hes a brazillian that could speak english fluently

and your questioning whether hes social?

    come on now...

  • @akiraw86 What does the ability of speaking English have to do with anything? I can speak English (it's my second language) yet I consider myself to be somewhat introverted.

  • @Svittidiu I trained with him and he was one of the most down to Earth guys I have ever met. Very nice guy.

  • Comment removed

  • @Svittidiu

rickson is incredibly arrogant (and somewhat delusional) and hard to get along with

  • @Svittidiu It's kind of funny bro, i am a psycologist, and i've seen people who appears to be unsocial, but they are outspoken and outgoing, being lonely does not necessarily means being introverted, sorry for any grammar mistake lol

  • @ticosexy22

liar. you wouldn't misspell your own profession.

  • @j0shuais I'm spanish dammit

  • @Svittidiu i like what u said and agree only because i think hes on a whole different level.. hes like the bjj version of Shaolin - Wu Dang Master monks.peace.

  • @Svittidiu After seeing him with his family, I doubt that he's antisocial

  • can someone tell me what the hell he is doing to his abs at the end

  • @OntologicalQuandary hes controlling his breathing dude

  • @TheMunster123

Lol come on. It has to be more than that. Nobody I know looks like that when they control their breathing and I do bjj and yoga so if it was such an obvious answer I would know

  • @OntologicalQuandary dude i was tryin to help you don't have to send me hate mail bro! get somethin better to do

  • @TheMunster123

lol I am not sending you hate mail? I am just saying the answer is more involved than just "hes controlling his breathing"

  • @OntologicalQuandary thats called YOGA dude. Ggle of search in youtube for: 'Pranayama'.

  • @OntologicalQuandary it's an isometric exercise where u suck your gut in and tense your abs at the same time while deep breathing. VERY beneficial. Not only does it strengthen abs but it sort of massages your internal organs keeping them much healthier than normal exercises. And the deep breathing builds up lung capacity, calms the body and mind, and opens up the meridians of your body, further keeping you energized, calm, and healthy

  • a mesma bermudinha que ele tava brigando na praia..hehehe

  • well obviously the competition is much much greater than it used to be. Noone would dare step into the ring or cage without having extensive BJJ knowledge but I think that does nothing but legitimize it as a deadly and amazing art based off the fact that every single fighter makes it a large portion of their game. Also, keep in mind, royce was in the UFC because he was the least intimidating of the gracies. far less would have been impressed with huge ass rickson winning fights.

  • BJJ is no longer effective because they changed the rules in AMERICAN mma to limit the efficiency of the BJJ fighter. short rounds limit the ability to out think your opponent. BJJ is a chess match. Also, they limited the most effective strikes for traditional bjj fighters as well. heel kicks, downward elbows. head butts. look at the fall of BJJ in MMA and compare it to the introduction of the rules. BJJ is still the most dominant 1v1 fighting style.

  • @aroomwithamoose15 Granted yes, they did eliminate strikes that are more effective for grapplers and time limits did shorten the amount of time as far as set ups, but my view for the decline in effectiveness is that a large number of techs that were originally used in MMA by Royce and the likes were, by todays standards, not as advanced as today because they didn't need to be. Now everyone who is serious about MMA knows how to defend against an astonishing number moves comparatively. Thoughts?

  • As someone who trains extensively in Kyokushin, BJJ, and Catch Wrestling. I can tell you that there is no one style dominates all. Admittedly BJJ is extremely effective if you can close the distance and get the takedown, HOWEVER, any good striker knows this and has trained in takedown defense effectively neutralizing a grapplers natural tendencies. Two things about grappling though. 1)Multiple opponents = bad. 2) Many techs from guard will be neutralized due to striking.

  • @thatweirdtuck i couldnt agree more.i take aiki(traditional japanese)jujitsu and i see almost no difference in the 2 arts where the ground is involved.im jujitsu through and through but people need to realize that theres a reason brazilian jujitsu artist(jujitsu in general) DO NOT even come close to dominating the mma world anymore.

  • @thatweirdtuck 1) you could use ju jitsu against multiple opponents because Gracie ju jitsu includes throws as well tho but I think you could use it against at least two or three opponents only tho unarmed of course 2) 10th planet ju jitsu neutralise's strikers when perform with real effect and it is used regularly in Japan against strikers. Plus 10 th planet ju jitsu is continuously evolving and developing.

  • we all know a strong wrestler can neutralize a bjj expert and nowadays you gotta train in everything to succeed ayways so theres no point in arguing what martial art is better

  • lol what if that band breaks

  • brasilian jiu jitsu best system ever.

fuck aikido , taekwondo , karate , wing chun ......

  • @BluePittbull666 its not the system its the fighter.

  • @BluePittbull666

You can not say of any of the martial arts that it is the best. And give more respect to other styles. Thanks. I am also doing BJJ by the way so don't think that I am from another style.

  • @Szellemkutya2 Helio once said it is the most efficient and effective, so I listen to only his words he once spoke.

  • @BluePittbull666 when you actually learn what you're talking about you will grow up and realize there is no such thing as the 'best system ever'. bjj is useless if you cant strike and wrestling and from the way you talk im going to assume you cant do either. what are you going to do in a fight just try and jump guard all the time?

  • @forbesfoofighters I go to Gracie Barra and do BJJ and kickboxing. You can win a fight easily and never punch or kick. BJJ is way more effective. You don't have to pull guard on them. You can choke them standing up and when they throw a punch you put that side's elbow up and step toward the person. Then you grab them(underhooks) and their striking is now useless. From there you can easily trip or throw them and once again striking is useless. Fights end up on the ground and BJJ wins.

  • @AnAverageSkeptic dude no, just no. there is no style that is better than any other. i box and my strongest area is boxing in the clinch. if you are pure bjj and wont engage anything else you would get knocked the fuck out. you cant just come into a fight and start trying to reach for under hooks and tie them up from so far away, you have to do something to close that gap this isnt a chuck norris movie.

  • @forbesfoofighters Like I said there are ways in BJJ to close the gap on a puncher. Once up close other than uppercuts but the BJJ guy would have his head near your shoulder, be bear hugging them and then you wouldn't be able to uppercut. Leaving strikes ineffective. If they are a wrestler and take them down you can submit them from your back and if they've never done BJJ they'll have no clue what's happening. But MMA is the best overall. BJJ dominates style vs style,

  • @AnAverageSkeptic you make it sound so easy, bjj doesn't teach how to fight in the clinch so odds are pretty good you wouldn't be able to leave their strikes ineffective simply by clinching with them if you were say fighting a muay thai fighter. he would be much stronger in the clinch because he has trained extensively to fight in that position. if you clinched up a judo fighter you may render his strikes ineffective but if you only train bjj he would hip throw your ass.

  • @forbesfoofighters Watch a self defense video on here done by a Gracie school. It's a different type of clinch than a muay thai one. There's no room for a muay thai fighter to throw knees or elbows and if they did go for a knee they'd be on their back, then muay is pointless. If it were a striking only match than BJJ lose almost everytime from the lack standing submissions.

Judo, once again in BJJ being in full guard is great for you. and you can do plenty of submissions off your back.

    Been fun

  • @AnAverageSkeptic "It's a different type of clinch than a muay thai one." yes, a magical clinch that makes it impossible for someone to throw a 'thai plum" over your head and knee you in the face. how did anyone not discover this sooner? take a walk faggot, your lack of common sense annoys me.

  • @forbesfoofighters Now I'm a "faggot". Go watch a self defense demo from the Gracies. They get both of your arms down and then bear hug you and put their head next to yours. Is there a "magical" way to get both of your arms out of that before the BJJ person hip throws or trips them?

If so "how did anyone not discover this sooner?".

Go for a run your type of ignorance makes me ashamed to be part of the human race.

Respond all you want. When you have to resort to name calling, you've lost.

  • @AnAverageSkeptic "Is there a "magical" way to get both of your arms out of that before the BJJ person hip throws or trips them" yes it's called extensively training the specific position. i wish i could fight some one with your attitude who thinks they're gonna walk into a fight and just start reaching out to tie you up.

  • @forbesfoofighters I don't recall ever saying a BJJ person would reach for you to wrap you up I said step forward maybe.

Of course if you extensively train to counter something then you'll eventually be able to do it you twit. That works both ways. I don't plan on starting any fights, I'm completely passive, but I do kickboxing and BJJ and the kickboxing instructor even told me that it's useless against BJJ. Go watch old Rickson or Royce Gracie fights and watch how they take people down.

    Bye

  • @AnAverageSkeptic why would you take and pay money for kickboxing if you believe and were told it was useless against BJJ? that makes no sense and that is why you are a mo-ron. roger gracie is not only by far the greatest gracie but is the greatest grappler of any generation and i have seen almost all his bjj matches. i also know he is getting ktfo the second he goes up against a striker with something called "take down defense".

  • @forbesfoofighters First I'm a faggot now a mo-ron. I do kickboxing at Gracie Barra where I do BJJ, it comes with the package. Like I said MMA is the best.

I hope you do realize Silva is also a BJJ black belt. Maia won Abu Dhabi and that is what got his name out. Silva uses muay thai more than BJJ, but he knows BJJ.

This really is pointless. I'm a moron for learning more than just BJJ and a faggot for whatever reason.

    Grow up

    Good bye.

  • @AnAverageSkeptic you're a moron for doing kickboxing when you believe it is useless against BJJ. if you truly believed that you wouldn't waste your time kickboxing. you say go watch royce gracie fight but royce only ever won against fat bums with no boxing and no ground game. did i mention he has been basically submitted by judo fighters (yoshida) and wrestlers (hughes). the fact that AS has a blackbelt does not change anything because maia's BJJ was still useless against his boxing/muay thai.

  • @AnAverageSkeptic go watch the anderson silva v demian maia fight. maia is one of the best BJJ fighters ever but because he couldn't get past AS's striking to a position where he could use it he got CLOWNED.

  • @AnAverageSkeptic if you were fighting a wrestler same thing, you wouldn't be able to easily trip a good wresler because he would be the one trying to take you down. you have a lot to learn about fighting my friend. dont come back and msg me until you can admit that the best fighter is the 1 who combines boxing bjj and wrestling the best.

  • @BluePittbull666 Ehhh, I would remove taekwondo and karate from that fuck list lol

A lot of top MMA fighters have taekwondo and karate backgrounds. I've seen a lot of taekwondo and karate aspects and techniques used really well in MMA. Taekwondo isn't just about fancy spin kicks, and karate is pretty solid too esp. kyokushin.

  • @BluePittbull666 Best system ever until you take on multiple opponents.

  • yoga + bjj :P?

  • This Gracie needs his OWN reality show..... Oprah are you watching this????

  • 0:55

he's in for a world of hurt if that rubber band snaps

  • wow he's ripped

  • @TaskerFilms WHO IS THIS RICKSON GRACIE ... NEVER HEARD OF HIM .. HE DIESNT KNOW ANY THING ABOUT BJJ.. HE SHOULD INCLIDE THAT IN HIS MMA TRAINING!!

  • @2submit is nthat supposed to be a joke?

rickson gracie doesnt know anything about bjj?

  • @alicongo wow who ever said that is a dumbass.

  • @2submit Rickson Gracie is a legend dude. Supposedly his record is 400-1. He's like Bruce Lee but not a movie star.

  • @MrKli4d and 1??

  • @Pridefighter198027 Apparently he was fighting in a style he was unfamiliar with that had a rule where your shoulders hitting the ground meant "total submission" or something like that.

  • @MrKli4d wow never heard of this ...been an MMA fan for years now,i'll look into it,Rickson is one of my favorites no matter what the haters say.

  • @Pridefighter198027 yes he was in a sambo tournament and claimed he didnt know the rules. he knew the rules. imagine if you did win 400 major victories in your career and only lost one time. people will help you make excuses for yourself. its kinda like fedor and the illegal cut thing.

  • dude... his fucking nostrils are HUGE.

    much respect to rickson!

  • WAR WALLID ISMAIL

  • You can say all the shits, but all in all he is one of the biggest or could say the biggest fighter in the world. Nobody has proved as much as he did. He is a fighter legend...and by the way he is undefeated!!! Big honour to him! Anybody who thinks he is better....try to defeat more than 300 enemy and than speak!

  • @mrperecz He lost in a Sambo match, look it up.

  • @TheUgly88 Could You show me my friend which sambo match was that? I am really curious!!! Give me a link or something pls.

  • @mrperecz you could download the Rickson Gracie documentary called choke if you are able to via a torrent site ,or you could just type Rickson gracie choke into youtube ,but i guess you're just calling TheUgly88's bluff

  • @BirthofAPrince Yes i have seen the movie called choke. Was great and in it can we see the he was that time undefeated after it there were not so many fights and as i know he is still undefeated. I japan he is a samurai :D and in Hungary far away some of us we know his name....oh and i heard(hopefully correct) that there's a brazilian jiu-jitsu school as well opened here. :D great!

  • How in the hell...

    This guy, man. This guy.

  • brazilians own soccer and fighting!! damn !! nice combo
