I always fall asleep with the radio on and I remember in the morning being half awake and hearing the news report on his death. I shouted OH NO! However I thought I was dreaming. When I finally did wake up, I cried my eyes out, he was my idol, my inspiration. I remember in respect I wore my Superman T-shirt on the day.
I still feel anger toward politians and the Bush administration for holding fundings for stem cell research. If it wasn't held, Chris might have had a chance to either walk or live long enough to walk again. I am still grateful that he is free from his chair and he is with his wife.

Yeah, I know. Poor guy. When he had his accident, and ended up in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, it's moments like that that makes you realize that you maybe don't have all the time in the world like you believe you do. So you should never give up on things, and always life each day to the fullest.

Many people would and do care!
The point is his fame is good for spreading awarness of both his condition and the fact that things like stem cell research are vital.
This helped and still helps.
I suppose my main point is that actor or not he was an inspiration to many as a human being.
To put it bluntly it does not matter how much money or fame you have if you are fucked up in a wheelchair!
Yet he(at considerable effort and no doubt personal cost)did his best to help others...

i think that we should not allow the stem cell research, its a bit heartless to take one life or many lives to save your own, dont take someones potential for a great life to repair your half life, its no different than killing someone and taking their body part to use it in a transplant that you need,its senseless,just because you need 1 part(in this case cell) doesnt mean you should kill an innocent baby, like that. is your life more important? its robbing the life of another for yourself.

In my college speech class, I did a eulogy for Christopher Reeve. I could watch Superman The Movie starring him, a dozen times, and never get tired of it. He was truly a living superman, with a heart of gold, and an indominable spirit.
R.I.P Christopher Reeve. You may go from us, but you will be loved by the world for a long time to come.

@adamV5 So? A large amount of people have been under the conditions of paralysis even if it were temporary, and still have continued their careers during their dilemma in their physical structure. But honestly, Christopher Reeves is someone who commanded possibly the best Medicare, and pharmacies to tend to his will at any minute of the day, most paralysis victims are unable to be treated with the same provision.

Enormous talent of Chris Reeve : actor (cinema and theatre), artistic director, writer, director of the Christopher Reeve Foundation. Attentive father of his 3 children. He wasnt only for 4-times the performer of Superman but he wonderfully played a lot of characters simultaneously in cinema and tv movies his repertoir filmographic was very impressive. In fact : handsome actor, talented, charismatic, sensitive, courageous, modest with a good sense of humour!

Unfortuneately, there is just not enough known about spinal cord injuries. Christopher Reeve happened to have a very severe injury that eventually shut his system down. Spinal cord injuries are still in its primitive stages an perhaps with stem cell research this could start moving forward.
