yes. The movies always play this sound for north american wilderness, and that other sound for south american jungle wilderness. The one that goes:
ooo ooo ooo, aaah aaah aaah.
I need to find out what that creature is. Maybe a parrot or tucan.

Not just North American, EVERY wilderness - Africa, Europe, pacific islands, you name it.
In movies, you're not really in a wild forest if there's no loon cry.
Just found that one out recently--apparently that one's a kookaburra. Always thought it was a monkey or something, for some reason though.

@isgoodno its a "Kookaburra" from Australia, they are a massive kingfisher bird that eats snakes.They also use it in the tarzan movies and TV shows. It sounds as though they are laughing.
