  • ANOTHER great June piece. That woman is the Queen of the koto. :) Thanks for posting this.

  • @Docmarten90

    Hey I'm with you.

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR Marlon! XXOO 2012!

  • Beautiful music! The pictures in the video go well with the song.

  • I really don't know any other details...sorry. Harps were played throughout the song. The music is very similiar to Ren. The melody is like la lalalala lalalala....harps play these notes.....don't laugh!!!! (Ha-ha)

  • @ijustwannaknow244

Is it a Japanese group playing, if so do you know the difference between a Koto and a harp sound?

  • @hsmarlon listen for the pitch bend which is a characteristic of the Koto. Also the strings are played with a finger picks which give the attack sound a bit more bite than if the strings were plucked.

  • @turtlefield76

I see that you are a koto man. I've seen the video on your site and that's an awesome group. Any concerts near the St. Louis, MO area?

  • @hsmarlon Thanks for checking out my group. I actually play with Hiroshima as well:) I've been on the last three albums playing taiko and percussion. Could you add a link to our website and Facebook page in the descriptions of the Hiroshima videos you've uploaded? We're trying to build up our likes and do a better job connecting with our online fan base. Thanks!

  • Marlon....the song I am looking for was composed in I believe 77-79. It's instrumental and it sounds similiar to Ren. If you could help me find this song I will be forever grateful. If you can't thats ok to because you have once again peaked my love for this group. Do you like Kitaro also?

  • @ijustwannaknow244

Kitaro? Somewhat, I haven't heard the name Kitaro since the 90's. Now this song I need more details. What it Hiroshima or another Japanese artist?

  • Marlon....THANK YOU !!!!! For such beautiful music. My niece and I were just talking about Hiroshima the other day. It's refreshing to know that there are people who enjoy such beautiful and moving music. I first heard of Hiroshima while in college ( the wonderful 80's) and was moved by a song but can't recall the name. Each time I play a song it take's my breath away. It's amazing how close Ren is to the actual song. Keep doing what ur doing!!!

  • @ijustwannaknow244

Thx for those kind words. The wonderful 80's, you are right, man if I could only go back. Times and music were so different than today. That's when I first heard Hiroshima too, "One Wish" is the song (1985) and they have been in my life every since. I'm glad that you have enjoyed "Ren", I have some more Hiroshima on my channel check them out. Love and peace to you and the family.

  • Marlon, your mission to help the viewer relax and meditate and taking them into another dimension has definitely been accomplished. Your taste in music is just awesome. Warmly, Vicki T

  • @luvyourpets08

I'm glad that you see the light. Some people just put a song up and call it a day, but I like to put relaxing pic or videos up to put you out there. Thx for the kind comment. Peace

  • @hsmarlon Well, it's just that Hiroshima is such an important band to me and all that they stand for and now you have clued me in to Manzanar and how it was a camp for the Japanese during WWII. Thousand Cranes is about a 12 year old girl, Sadako, who died from leukemia from the atom bomb blast. She was told if she could make a thousand cranes her wish would come true. She made 644 and died and her friends made the rest and buried all the cranes with her.

  • @luvyourpets08

Now that's sad. Thx for sharing that with me. I didn't know that. You can learn from a person if you just listen to them, but you have some people that feel that I'm older than you and I know more than you. Now that's true in some ways, but no man or woman knows everything. Like my granddad use to say, "You are never to old to learn. You can learn a lot from a baby if you just observe one." So thx for share that story once again. Interesting.

  • @hsmarlon There are a couple of books written about Sadako and I just ordered one of them. I believe it is a children's book, but like you say, you can learn from a baby if you just observe. I decided to order one of them in honor of that little girl. For all the years I have enjoyed Hiroshima, I just found out what "Thousand Cranes" was about, just like you knew about "Manzanar". It's been great sharing info with you. Thanks. Vicki

  • @hmarlon: Absolutely stunning job! Bravo and kudos to you :)

That's my mission. It's to help the viewer relax and meditate on the music and take the viewer to another dimension. Thx for the comment. Peace
