Cool plane!! and great video!! I might get one as my first RC plane. Any ideas or opinions on this plane on a good way to beggin and land my first flight..Thanks!
It has good turning capability and is great for it's price!!! It's nice and light and probably one of the best beginner planes out there where you can fly in your backyard or even a basketball court once you get really good!
@robbie2737 Hey. It doesn't cost much. The reason why mine broke off is cause i did a nosedive from attempting a bigg front flip. I also got a new tail and battery. If you go to a hobby store they will replace it for you and it will only cost like 3 bucks!
Yes it's one of our most popular trainer planes. It's not crash proof and will get damaged if you crash it, but it is a very stable and nice flying platform for the price. We currently have a free extra battery promotion going too which is nice. Thanks for your comments.
@REDROCKETHOBBIES Hi I was looking for a beginner RC plane and so when I looked around on different forums I found this plane. Is it good for a person who has little experience about flying RC Planes?
I have one. They are very durable, but do not have the best service. My champs' prop cap fell off, but it did not matter. I crash landed it on a pond one time. The plane was under water for 2 seconds but then flew out. Then it stopped working. I waited for it to wash up and it was not working when I got it out. The next day I tried different procedures to get it to turn on and it worked. :-)
@TheRandomguytom yup, ima' serial. but i flew it like 400 feet away. ofcourse ah was bein' a complete IDIOT and ah flew it in to the forest and went a lookn' but NOPE, ah didnt find it. So ah got mahsealf a supah cub. I CRASHD' IT DA WEEK AFTR AH' GOT IT AND WENT TO DEE HOBBYSTORE AND PAYD 50$ BUCKS TO REPAIR IT AND AH'M A NEVA EVA GONNA UNDA ESTAMATE DA WIND AGAIN. no, i am not texan.
Never having flown an RC plane before, I picked one of these up two weeks ago and have enjoyed flying it tremendously! It's very sturdy, very easy to fly and very forgiving! It definitely does NOT suck despite what another reviewer said!
After buying and now flying the Champ for a couple of weeks, all I can say is Wow! My first couple of flights were kind of rough, and I made most of the typical newbie mistakes. Despite this, the plane held up perfectly, and now my flights and landings are much smoother, and I accomplished this in a very short period of time. Those who say this plane sucks or is junk, are too stupid to do just about anything. 52outbound probably doesn't even know how to use toilet paper to wipe his butt.
i like mine but i tihnk mine has a few probs in this vid the plane can flip and all of that if i attemted that in im it comes back to earth in a huge crash
I've been interested in trying an RC plane for a few years also. This nice little plane is the perfect thing for me to get started. This plane is inexpensive, seams pretty user friendly, and replacement parts are also inexpensive and easy to order on line when something does break.
The main thing that held me back was seeing video, much of it on YouTube, of larger, more powerful, and more expensive RC planes turned to unusable piles of balsa and foam in seconds after a crash.
@52outbound you're a complete liar, and fool. This plane is an AWESOME plane. I had a few "mishaps" when I first started flying, and it wasn't damaged in the least!
Also, all the floats I've ever seen have been bare aluminum. It would be nice to have that color as a base.
I plan to get a champ one of these days, but right now, even in micro sizes I'm getting crowded out of house and home by airplanes. I'm not complaining, except to say that I've got no place to put the durned thing if I get it.
I just got mine today and took it on its first flight in a big field unfortunately it only lasted about 8 seconds a small breeze came out of no where and took it away straight into a tree the tree cut both wings off I ordered new wings but my propeller looks bent weird when I have it apart and the body off its still glued down and the prop shaft looks straight is it just how its made? does anyone know if the prop looks like it kind of angles down like mine looks completely straight vertically
@SkatingIsMyWayOfLife if no one has answered your question then when the plane is sitting on the table on the landing gear the the prop shaft should be straight, and in level flight it will be slightly down.
ii just got 1 today and i took it to a local field and "attempted" to fly it haha the wind "which was like 20 mph today" took it and carried it 1000meters or so. i found it after like 20 min. i heard the noise. nothing happened at all it is very durable. this is my first rc plane
Got this little plane today. Boy does this plane rock.. Flew it in some pretty good wind for this little plane (10mph maybe) Was able to get some good flights in. Did some flips to show off to the little kids at the park. Just ordered 2 160mah batterys for it.. If you break it then you must suck at flying this little guy can take some crashes and is pretty easy to get out of a crash by letting go of the stick and pulling up. to slow down.
I bought one today, haven't had much flight time but I parked it in a tree, crashed into my car and landed it upside down a few times then I started getting the hang of it (Mind you this was all at night and all I could see was the bright red LED)
this is possibly the best plane you can get to learn RC flight. it was one of my first, and i highly reccomend it to everyone. its a very laid back plane when flying, and is a huge joy. should you get any parkzone ultra micro planes, the champ's battery and remote is fully compatible.
is this a good choice for beginners? the last time i was told a plane was good for me it ended up smashed. i have a small field surrounded by trees near my house and this looks like a good flyer.
@REDROCKETHOBBIES im new to the hobby and well i got the parkzone night vapor and the hobbyzone champ i ant gunna fly the champ till i get good with the vapor but would this plane be good 4 me any tips?
@52outbound I have nothing but rave reviews for this airplane. It would take utter negligence and carelessness not to have a good experience flying this awesome little plane.
my parent are buying me this on blackfriday for the discounts but i cant wait ibought FS1 to practice and im doing great this seems like a great plane!
Just tried mine for the first time all i can say its a beast its fun and champ is the champ! Plus my first flight i did a loop :p recommend to all beginners

@wolfknifelasertorch You're right it is similar to the UM J3 Cub from Parkzone but it is a little bit bigger and if I'm not mistaken I believe there is a real airplane called the Champ made by Aeronca. Also the HobbyZone Champ uses the UM 4-Site prop which is meant for slow flying so the Champ is probably a bit slower than the UM J-3, which would be good for beginner pilots.
