it does Sound like 5/4 with each phrase starting on consecutive beats. they mess around with the timing of the melody in other songs too, like "Trane to Conamarra" from Left of Cool. That's probably my favorite song of theirs, I strongly suggest checking it out if you haven't done so already. They just seem to get better, more creative, and more daring as time passes.
