To wszystko jest na zasadzie takiej jak robi sie wino ,tyle tylko ze zamiast rurki w korku wkladasz wezyk i do akwarium- a babelki ktore wychodza to wlasnie co2
I think this is what my plants need! So do you put the bottle below the tank with a lid, a small hose through it leading to the tank through an airstone? Do I have this on 24/7 or just in the day? And how often should I make a new solution? Thanks Dustin, you're awesome!
@amantoske You have to run the co2 coming out of the yeast and sugar mix through another airtight bottle filled with just water; this way the alcohol gets deposited into that water; cleansing the co2 before it reaches the tank.
Something I tested and it's working. Yeast CO2 for two months and still going fine. I use three plastic bottles (2,5 L each) with minimum yeast (less than a half tea spoon) and 1 kg of sugar in each bottle. Small amount of yeast per bottle with a lot of sugar will give you long lasting CO2 production unit with small amount of CO2. Three bottles combined will give you enough CO2 for your tank. I'll see how long this set-up will work like this and will post again.
Happy Birthday Dustin i was wondering i made my own Co2 system for now till i get more cash and i'm using your Homemade Co2 from this video but i heard that if you let the bubbles rise to the surface it loses it's effectiveness and doesn't work is that true? and if it is how can i fix the prob? thanks for your help
@Dustinsfishtanks I drink a cup every day... I have like 20 bottles in my pantry. They're hard, tough bottles and good for a lot of stuff as long as you rinse it well and get all that smell out.
i don't have a Co2 system diffuser right now but i have plants do you think i would be ok with Co2 tablets that they sell at the pet store and plant food? till i get a Co2 system
@TheAfav777 F no ...you don't dump that in there!!!! this is a mix that will produce CO2. which will come out the top into your tank via airline tubing
Hi Dustin. Love your videos. Mostly about plant care. I am a newbie when it comes to aquarium plants. how long should i let the co2 run? only during lights on? So do I have to make another one everyday? is it really 2watts of light per gallon for plants? thanks in avance!
i made one of these to buy time till i get one of those 100 dollar systems. btw, dont boil the water to dissolve the sugar, i melted my first bottle =/
heard a bit of uncooked rice adds a source of carbohydrates for them or something? also, the jello yeast mixture apparentlly lasts around a month to 6 weeks if ur lucky
I know that sugar feeds yeast. So that is why you add the granulated sugar. But am curious to know how the molasses changes anything. It is basically a sugar too. Would you please explain how it works better. And how about a video of your aquarium to see how your secrete recipe is serving you? :)
@AdrienBCaldwell Molasses has something in it that makes it last a little longer with the sugar....a missing element to keep the yeast alive longer... I've got 190 fishtank videos ;) take a look;)
@beelang817 SH!T NO!!!! you seal it up and set it way below the tank. DONT POUR IT IN THERE! the gass that comes out is what you let run into your tank.. I'll make another video for this... Don't do anything yet!

AwesomeAssassin1000 3 months ago
@AwesomeAssassin1000 I think you can use a little bit of baking soda instead. Although you will get co2 even if you just use water, sugar, and yeast.
barkernj 1 month ago
YOU CAN JUST USE BROWN SUGAR AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO ADD THE MOLASSES
