I worked in DeVa 82-84 and flew out of this small airport, and did a little scenic flight with my boss, and the local barber who flew in once a week from Lone Pine.
Death Valley winds often blow stridently, and cross-winds are often quite tricky at this airport.
I recall that we had a small home-built plane get blown sideways and ended up in the palm trees. If my memory serves me, the pilot and passenger both suffered broken legs.
i've spent some time at the ranch... my mom used to work there. really nice place, though expensive as hell. desolation is great and the hike to the "tea house" next to the inn offers a great view. nice work.
omg whats this song i love this song. and your an amzing pilot i cant believe you did that cause its like an illusion you landing on. but you did it. it had me fooled caus of the dark sand matching the run way bu the run way is alot smller
Nice. I flew a Cherokee 235 to Death Valley sometime around 1999, landed at Furnace Creek, it's a really beautiful area... loved seeing the altimeter going neghative! Thanks for the video.

I always got a kick going into Catalina Island. I'm suprised that you don't have that in your vids, it's less than an hour in your hot rod!
