It's possible that Angel could mean messenger or Word bearer, and if Christ is the Word of God, then He could easily have been sent to certain recipients of God's attention for some special personal contact with God's Word. But NONE of this means that Jesus is a MERE angel like those other spiritual beings that serve God. Angel could be a blanket term meaning spirit messenger. And He of course would not have had the name Jesus yet since He hadn't been born in the flesh yet. ASK Jesus yourself.
thanks. i had hoped to do it in a more timely fashion but life got in the way. of course, the more i looked at the new testament, the more outrageous LJP's suggestion is. JC is called the last adam, passover lamb, the rock in the desert, the water and the manna... but such an obvious connection to "the angel of the Lord" is never made.
I wanted to do a video but I realized I would be repeating myself because they would be like the many other responses. At times It's hard for Christians to read Hebrew.
In Judaism, each mitzvah creates an angel (messenger). When one stands before the Heavenly Court, these "angels" will stand as a witness for the individual. What do they look like? Like the individual, of course! In the Xian sense, we don't have a guardian angel, but we do have angels that guard over us (i.e., those guards being our observance of the Mitzvot). In Judaism one doesn't ask, "Are you religious?" One asks, "Are you shomer shabat (a guardian of the Shabbath)?"
