Yakiniku is invented by the Korean immigrants after the Second World War. Sometimes Yakiniku is eaten with other Korean-influenced dishes such as kimchi, nameul and bibimbap. The history of Korean BBQ such as Bulgogi and Kalbi gose back to the 37 BC–668 AD. It was prepared especially for the king during the Joseon Dynasty.
wow, cool place, I loved the street design. The interior of that place was really nice too. I hope to visit Japan someday , Love the culture and food.
Todd, there is nothing wrong with the way you are saying Yakitori... the ri is something between ri and li ....and I am sure any native speaker will tell you... no problem ... anata no hatsuon jouzu desu.
Thanks... yea basically it was meat and beer but the table charge included that little dish of cold gobo root... I had eaten some korean food for lunch so I was a little full at dinner.
hahaha I've never eaten them over there, but your probably right...I'm sure those yakitori tsukune still tasted munchus better though : )...I love'em, damn I'm so hungry right now!
Todd it was great having Tsukune and some cold ones with you. Make sure you go to the first Yakitoriya near Shinjuku station I pointed out to you. I will be back in Japan soon, and I hope we can team up again. Joe

Wow that looked delicious. If you don't mind my asking what did your dinner end up costing per person? Next time I'm in Japan I think I'm going to have to try out that restaurant.

I beg to differ, but Japanese tend to show more deference to Westerners and Caucasians.
