The first pilot I see which is moving the Spit through corners as fast as I ever imagined it shlud have been in the war. In all the other movies they seem to turn their planes in slow-motion..
Other videos claim to be the best, so I reluctantly clicked, but this really is one of the best, if not the best. I love the pilots insistence on flying at the edge of the spitfires performance envelope, from turn to turn, bank to bank, and climb to climb. Check out that right bank, holding the AoA with the rudder. He's loving life!
Enjoyed watching this video. Once again Dan Griffith gave another superb display. I had hoped to be there to video this display, but unfortunately was unable to make it to Manston. However, I did video his displays on 14th September 2008 and in May 2009. If you are interested, please see "rgnvideo channel" on YouTube. The first one is titled "Spirit of Kent Spitfire_Manston_14.9.08_Pilot_ Dan Griffith" and the second one is "Spirit of Kent Spitfire Manston 2009".
Thank you for uploading this excellent footage. The camerawork is (almost) as good as the exemplary flying display..! Nay, it is as good..!! A joy to watch.
Great aircraft, great display, great piece of film, but alarmingly very surprised with the short distance of separation from the public to the display line. We all like to see these amaizing historic planes in action and in no doubt the pilot has vast experience, I feel that safety is paramount at all airshows. There was one manouvre as the Pilot passed over the public gaining altitude but as he turned to fly back down the display line, he lost a considerable amount of height !!!!.
Another brilliant display and very well filmed, this guy has to be one of the best display pilots out there, complete mastery of the Spitfire,an interesting and varied display,I wish they could all be flown this way.....
:D i was there was susprised to on how low they came. The first pass of the messerschmitt was quit a shock as u never get this close at any other event iv ever been to :) great video , thanks for shearing :)

Fantastic video.
Thanks on behalf of all those like me who may never get the opportunity of seeing a Spitfire in flight for real.
Excellently filmed, too. Love the zooming in or out with the blue skies and white clouds.

@GimmeanF Thanks, I like to zoom out so folks can see where the aircraft is in the sky, and how fast it is flying.
