I do this myself at home. No ice, no painkillers. Both of my toes become ingrown all the time. I get a knife, pry the toenail up a bit, and use good tweezers or needlenose pliers to tear it out. I like blood, and I enjoy the pain. I can't explain it.

Oh my gosh...I had that done two days ago....it doesn't hurt at all cause they numb it...and it stays numb for like two days...
But I have to say, when I unwrapped it to change the dressing, man it was the grossest thing I have ever seen in my life.
