You obviously haven't met the people who've moved into the new homes or rehabbed apartments. The beauty of Old North is that it is a truly diverse neighborhood - and the new development provides housing opportunities for all, without any displacement.

I would encourage 314jasmine to come on out and meet the families and individuals who now live in 32 apartments rehabbed in the North Market Apts. development, the 20 (so far) new houses at North Market Place, and the 42 (so far) rehabbed apartments at Crown Square. Find out who they are before making conclusions. And ALL of those units were produced in formerly abandoned buildings or on vacant land.
