  • guys do you think it's safe? i need an honest opinion :))

    and what about the prices?

  • beautiful car

  • Why is it so challenging to find an original Porsche 356 Speedster?

  • I saw this car at school one day. it was black with a tan roof and tan interior

  • love it, love it, love it well done looks amazing

  • I think its great. Well done!

  • It is beautiful! Replica..I couldn't tell, some folks are being too particular for the situ. For sale at Pebble Beach (or the like), then authenticity matters. Then you wouldn't be driving it, would be worth too much. One of the benefits of replicas! And this is a nice replica, great job. I will have to look into the cost etc, I'm looking for a car, never even considered this until now! Thanks

  • @pooka0360 Good point. Original = sits in the garage. Replica = gets driven and enjoyed!

  • I'm lucky enough to have a speedster of my own. Had to completely rebuild the engine but she drives like a dream now. Beautiful cars and real head turners. Anyone thinking about getting one, do it!! Nice vid dude.

  • Nice car! I would rather have a replica than the real porsch because you can make it handle better and faster enging with out screwing up a vintage machine. I don't understand all the snobbery. Its a really cool car!

  • looks just as good as the real thing. Great work.

  • wenn ich irgendwann mal im Lotto gewinne, ist das mein größter Traum!

  • no me importa que sea replica, esta bonito el carro!

  • "replica" it means its not all porsche.. its a 356 shell wit a vw-beetle floor base..

  • bunch of boring farts talking on here!

  • Detective conan - Gin;s car =].

  • What a load of rich talking nonsense - they clearly want it for the looks, who gives a shit what everyone else thinks. It's cheaper, more reliable and can be made faster - if this is someone's dream car and they can't afford to buy an original, what's wrong with a replica?

  • @Rabbibunny Absolutely right! Well said. Oh, I want one!

  • @Rabbibunny Same with watches, handbags, clothing, and more?? When does it stop?

  • @Rabbibunny

It's true what you said. Just to let everyone know...if you're lucky to find an original one it will cost like over $150,000 just for the frame...then you gotta go through all the hassle of finding the parts and rebuilding it. But if you do find an original it would be hard to drive it knowing that it's worth so much and is so rare. Personally I buy a car to drive it not look at it. Replica or not this is a beautiful and classy looking car regardless.

  • Very nice! Look at my father's one in my channel! 5*

  • all replica bad...not value...

  • I used to be very anti replica, but as the aging boomers have driven the prices of the original car to astronomical levels, I now realise that the only drivable 356 will be replicas...no one is going to risk damage to one of the originals by cruising the streets with the mad crowd today...at least the replicas keep that great shape on the road for the public to see now and then.

  • original porsche vs replika porsche,like a original rolex(10.000 euro)VS roles from thailand(10 euro,or 2 purchase 3 euro).:)

  • not at all a buddy, this would be more like a 30-50,000 euro watch if your rolex is 10000.

  • I'm still anti replica. People drive $100K+ cars all the time out here in California. Instead of a fake Speedster, just get a real Boxster. We can't all afford every car, but I would be embarrassed if I had to explain that I was driving a replica.

  • Leaving the replica argument aside, I am having a personal crisis with the Boxster right now :-( I actually love the idea behind the Boxster Speedster...back to basics, but Porsche strips out a Boxster, puts a graphic on the side and then charges more for less!! As far as explaning that "I was driving a replica", that is an advantage that comes with age...I no longer worry about explaining what I drive to anyone...if I enjoy it, that's good enough, I'm the one who had to pay for it!

  • I agree with you that Porsche charging more for less is annoying, although Ferrari did it with the 360 and F430 lightweight versions. Although the idea behind the Boxster Spyder is excellent, as you say. However, as the second owner of a 1956 356A Speedster, the whole "real or replica?" discussion also annoys me. I can't afford a 550 Spyder, so I don't own one. Ditto the Ferrari Daytona Spyder -- too rich for me. But somehow I wouldn't feel right about driving a knockoff.

  • Have you seen the Beck 904 replica? Check it out, it is a great piece of work, captures the heart of the original idea, and would make a great hill climb or track day car plus a great weekend toy...the build quality is probably better than the original (which is the case in many of the replicas today, such as Cobra replicas or GT40 replicas...It is hard for me to be such a purist so as to deny the value of these cars in creating a great experience for the owner, which to me is the first goal.

  • I'm not familiar with the Beck '904'. For the Speedsters, the replicas seem to be fibreglass rather than the beautifully hand welded steel of the 1950s, so quality aside I wouldn't say the replica is a substitute for the real experience. I respect your point about creating the experience. However, someone who has driven a 904 replica has not, to my mind, experienced a 904. You could say fun is fun. I'm just a hardcore purist, with a different view. No harm, no foul.

  • wow, beautiful sound!

  • what engine do you use? a vw sedan? I live in brazil and here we have a national porsche replica, the engine is based on a vw sedan 1600... I was thinking if you use a vw sedan too, because there's a 1200cc, 1300cc, 1500cc and 1600cc engines...

    sorry about my (BAD) english...

  • same engine

  • as it should...

    Cool car, dude!

  • The 356 used prety much an identical engine to the VW designed buy porsche

Of course it will sound the same.

  • NIce....my '57 Speedster 1600N was black with red coupe seats and chrome wheels... cost $2550 new in Frankfurt in Jun '57

  • beautiful.

  • awesome!

  • Nice! From NFS: PU!

  • I LOVE IT!

  • still a nice car, I own a 914, still waiting to drive it, it's finished but it needs weather stripping.

  • Hey, wherever did you get the idea for the wheels? Sounds sweet!

  • how much has this car been?

where should i buy it when i live near cologne?

  • I wish people would READ before posting. It says its a replica in the title so why are you people saying "NOT REAL" or "REPLICA"? Thanks for stating the obvious that he stated already.

  • Nice one! I have the same 1957 356 replica. I got it 3 yrs ago and only put in 4k miles so far. The kit car is a sweet ride.

I installed a stero head unit...it's worthless...HAHAHA... the car is so loud at 30mph+, it muffles any music you have blasting.

  • REPLICA!

    NOT ORIGINAL!!

  • is this the one with the boxer engine?

  • All of the 356's have the Boxer-4 engine. The difference is in capacity and tune.

  • I dont know if it´s a replica or not, but it´s gorgeous anyway. Congratulations for your car!

I´ll start to biuld a replica this year, hope I can make it as beautiful as your car.

  • replica!!!!!

  • its a replica

  • aren't they all?

The only true ones are held up in warehouses and museums.

  • Comment removed

  • First of all, no. Secondly, rednecks dont go into space, we know this to be true. Thirdly, in all seriousness, the e-break between the front seats is a dead vw giveaway, Porsche used an under dash e-break. Jock.

  • Nice car !
