This is certainly a modified melody, and admittedly, I don't know if that's the kind of rendition I usually go for in a patriotic tune - but it is also only fair to note the talent here, and commend the poster for a good job at the keyboard. :-)
This was the national anthem before 1931. After that, the Star Spangled Banner replaced this as the national anthem but "my country" is still used. Start Spangled is far popular.
It would have been nice if he respected the simplicity of the song and wasn't so showboat'y & actually show boated with tasteful voicings and smoother transitions. The way he plays this song on organ reminded me of cutting the crusts off of bread using an axe.
Bloody yanks cant even write a song without copying britian GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

Love the chords, the inner voicings, and right hand solos. Great!

god save the queen and my country tis of thee have the same melody so he is basically already doing it
thomasnguyen26 2 years ago
i believe there's subtle differences especially in the bass
God Save the Queen has more melodic bass than the American imitation

Nice... a very gospel like sound.
But when it's without lyrics, i think you should call it "God Save the Queen"
