Dude, cmon, get real. You want to color yourself unique for owning a box with four wheels? Like like saying a person who owns an iPod is unique. Meanwhile almost everyone owns one already. You sound stupid when you say that the only alternative is owning an SUV.
First of all, I am not a "dude". Second, if you had read my comment carefully you would have noticed I said the average American drives sedans or SUVs. I don't see anywhere in my comment a reference to this being the only option to someone who wants to be unique. Nor did I mention anything about my personal tastes. Adding personal insults to a debate is not a good method if you want to be taken seriously.

Perhaps people just enjoy customizing there car. Same as people who like to customize there home, outfit, etc.

So by being unique a person has no personality? I thought it was the people that do the same thing as the rest of the herd that lack personality...
It may be ugly to you, but people have the right not to want a big SUV or a plain sedan like most American buyers.
